    The PGA’s market dominance is threatened by LIV golf entering the arena…healthy market competition is a good thing that will elevate the quality of both the PGA and LIV markets. Overall it’s a great thing for fans.

    Has been better than some of the boring PGA events to my surprise. PGA tour is drive and wedge for most courses with no trouble for being wild off the tee, hopefully they improve

    I dont constantly follow the big stuff in golf but i do think its an overall positive thing just because PGA's grasp is just so big that hopefully if we have more things like this then it will give more competition to PGA and make them improve, as it does not really change a lot.

    There will still be players who would prefer to be in the PGA tour but the appeal of Liv Golf is that there are no cuts and you get paid regardless if you're dead last. This is going to become more appealing to golfers in the future.

    People seem to be missing the issue here, there's nothing wrong with the LIV format, if anything it sounds interesting as a fan, but it's the where the funding has come from, and the way the funding was introduced, huge amounts of Saudi oil money just thrown at the big name golfers as signing bonus's, rather than starting small, investing in amateur golf, investing in worldwide grassroots forms of the game. That's what a lot of traditional golf members and supporters have a problem with.

      It will be just simple as creating a second group which is lower to the 1st one. As in football/soccer. They just need to define how is it with the player and team rating..

    LIV changing the format to shotgun, 54 holes and no cuts changes the game. Golf is mental as much as it is physical, and changing the format takes away from the grind and pressure the tradition PGA is. It’s no longer an apples vs. apples comparison against history. If the NBA and NFL were to have a competing league who only plays 3 quarters it’s no longer the same game.

      Exactly and no relegation and promotion, no ups and downs and no grinding to make it, like if they had a development tour and satellite tours and you had to earn it fair enough but it's invitation based on how well you played on the PGA tour, European tour, Japan tour, asian tour, sunshine tour, Australasian tour etc...more of a retirement tour or money grabbers tour

    • @mineshjogia9945
      @mineshjogia9945 2 года назад +1

      @@maximusdecimusmeridius9359 There is no relegation or promotion in the NFL, NBA, MLS, and others but gazillions still love and watch. They also all start and stop at the same time (shotgun start), all the players get paid huge contracts up front but god forbid a golfer earning what he's worth. Which by the way you don't get to decide, the players and contractors do. I also love that you missed there will be promotion and relegation as you clearly pointed out that if the PGA tour if it even survives will become nothing but a feeder tour, which it has been doing for best part of three decades to other tours. You should also take the time check some history on the PGA tour, which you ignored and tried to deflect from earlier when someone tried to give you some education. The very reason it exists is the players wanted more money and autonomy. You'll also want to give up on the dirty money thing many anti LIV guys seem to think people are falling for. They're not, they basically clocking on the fact you're all massive hypocrites. Lastly you'll also find this is not a war between the PGA Tour and the Saudi's, but really more of a war between the Saudis' and their cousins the Emirati's, who own the DP World Tour, you do know the DP stand for Dubai Ports, a UAE state owned company. The PGA tour cannot hope to compete with the two.

    So let me get this straight. You can come in dead last and still make a fortune. In fact, just signing up to play can make you rich. And it’s backed by another country who just happens to be one of the largest oil-producing countries with a poor reputation for human rights and is allied with countries who absolutely hate America. All, just so Americans can watch more exciting golf. WHAT could go wrong?

    There is space for both tours. I don't believe that the LIV tour is as good as the PGA but offers value to some players. The competition offered by the PGA tour is greater then that offered by the LIV tour. If you are a member of the LIV tour then you should never be eligible for any of the 4 PGA majors or Invitation-only tournaments. The other issue is of course the backing of the LIV tour which is offensive to most but that is an issue that each individual must decide for themselves.

      Is the NBA, NFL, MLS...all exhibition too? They are all payed upfront contracts. P.S they also are limited leagues and players per game, all are shotgun start, as in the game starts and end at the same time for all players. And we could go on to tear apart the very weak exhibition argument, but please enlighten us to why you think it's an exhibition and how it differs from what i have stated above.

    It is quite common for independent contractors to have work restrictions while they are working for their "contractor" and also for a year or two after their job ends (depending on the circumstances - unless they live in a liberal anti-business state like California that prohibits enforcement of such a restrictive covenant. Also, the players are tour members that aside from agreeing to contractual restrictions , they are aside from being an independent contractor, they are also your members that agreed to and are technically part of the rule making process. Restrictive work covenants (depending on circumstances) are quite common in independent contractor relationships. Freedom of contract which is a free market principle, none of the players had to sign their tour contracts or agree to the tour rules when they joined...Too many misinformed fans....
