    Thank you for posting this! We have a 4' by 8' raised bed garden. We never had a problem until this year when the racoons started eating my tomatoes. They went at it like they thought it was the buffet at the Golden Corral! I've been all over youtube trying to find an idea and fortunately, I found your video. I'm going to try to partially build it in my basement over the winter and assemble it outside when the weather gets nice again. Thank you again!

    We have deer, squirrel, racoons, birds, and turtles, and worst of all 🙄 carpenter bees. We live in a townhouse with woods directly behind us and the bees are obsessed with the whole townhouses communities decks and fences. They are a menace. It's a real puzzle because they should 100% be going for the forest. This will solve that problem.

    • @lisav1186
      @lisav1186 Год назад +1

      this is not going to solve your issues with carpenter bees or small rodents. I suggest you google carpenter bee traps.

    • @starwish1012
      @starwish1012 Год назад

      @Lisa V we already have some. The problem I was refuring to was to have a raised garden bed without wood. I wasn't talking about the bee problem itself. Unless the who community did something together, nothing's going to change about that.

    🤔 this is nice but it won’t keep rodents out of the garden especially with that huge gap between the two sections. Mice can easily go through the chicken wire. And if a rat can get its head through the it can get its body through but most adult rats will easily aw through chicken wire.
    You would well to redoing this with treated wood and using wire mesh or taking off the chicken wire, adding a center pvc brace for support and using wire mesh. You would also do well to put wire mesh under the raised bed to keep critters from going under the raised bed. Anyway good luck with that. This is a great effort for first time gardeners, I wish you success with your gardening endeavors.

    • @traciesplace
      @traciesplace  10 месяцев назад

      So sorry about the late reply but if you’re doing the rectangle cage - cut one inch shorter than the side you’re placing it on. The connectors will make up the half inch on each side.

    • @traciesplace

      The size fittings depend on what size pvc you get- we have 1/2 inch fittings because we have 1/2 inch pvc. 3/4 would be sturdier, but our 1/2 inch is still holding up well 🙌🏽
