Caleb is going to be the youngest millionaire in the entire DR history. He's doing better than most adults. Way to go!!
Hats off to Caleb's parents! Wow!
12 year old Caleb is more responsible than most adults
It amazes me that people sounds so done over their house having a weird layout when some people can barely afford to eat right now & some are dying.
Perspective will change your life
Especially when they CHOSE the house!
Being babies! You should have inspected the house before putting in such a large amount of money. Nobody's fault but yours. Tells you that having money doesn't equate to intelligence.
i love Jade, she is a natural! Def my fave personality after Dave of course...He is classic OG. And wow Caleb!!! How inspiring
I loved the 12 years old, so cute. Congrats to his parents.
How does a layout of a house effect your lifestyle to the point that it makes you so unhappy? I do not understand.
I’m obsessed with Jade’s green look
Good job caller Caleb! 🎉 Wow Jade’s really coming into her own! Love how she tells it like it is and is straightforward but still in a kind way. I still appreciate Dave’s hard ways too though. 😂
Me 2 - I always feel like he is the Simon cowell of American idol. He just says things in such a way filled with so much wisdom and no nonsense
@@amy2284 Exactly! I couldn’t agree more!
Jade is doing amazing! Excellent host!! ❤🎉❤
The caller who has $200-300 after paying the mortgage, gas and groceries is AWESOME. And they get paid AGAIN in the month. That's really good. People's lifestyle expectations need to take a chill pill. People expect luxury lives.
Welcome to being an adult
The only issue is I have with the Ramsey philosophy is that while you have debt they only want you to spend money on that debt and not splurge on yourself from time to time. Doing stuff for yourself on occasion is good for your mental health
I agree with you. That should last until next pay. They can save it and add to the next amount you have left over after paying bills.
FOMO sufferer.
I was thinking if on Tuesday I had £250 left and got paid on Friday again, I would be rich. Don't need to eat out they already bought food. I would invest it.
7:27 $1700 carnote 😮 insane gotta be highest I ever heard!!!🤢
For a FORD!! 😂
It's insane the car debt people take on. It's impulsiveness and entitlement.
Who buys a million dollar home and then decide they don’t like the layout???
A person who thinks “things” will solve their problems or make their life better.
I'm pretty sure, the guy has another issue and his wife thinks it's all about the house.
Definitely not about the house.
It took me a few years to really stick to it but for the last 4 years we save every month for Christmas in the account only for Christmas. I have 4 kids and its been a life saver for us. Every year I know I have a $2000 budget for my kids and its not going on a cc all I have to do is transfer the money.🤗
Just do it AND DON'T TOUCH IT unless its for Christmas gift!!❤
Me, too!
Caleb is just beyond adorable!,, Congratulations parents! Well done!!!!
Y’all are #1 on my list!! Haven’t missed even one show!! Y’all are like my Tennessee fam ❤ plus my brothers and sisters in Christ. Y’all are just such a blessing to each of us! Have never disliked a personality. Thank you. ❤️💚🎄
I guarantee that nurse has been living way beyond their means…
Or they have significant debts
I would to see this family get help with looking at their finances and turning them around.
Rachel is really growing on me as a personality she brings balance to this show
Jade…. My favorite Ramsey personality!🙌🏾
Kevin 🙄 Sell that darn 83K depreciating truck!
Thank you guys for doing what you do! Following the baby steps I just was able to stack up 1300 in a month with Overtime and budget cutting my expenses. I have a comcast debt and a Car Note looking to get debt free in a year!!! and I will be continuing to stack off of that 1,300 hoping to go into 2024 with 2500 in USD and I will purchasing my apartment in March :) Using separate funds from my 2500 :)
“Keeping up with the Jones” in your 40s and 50s is a sign of an insecure person…..
Thanks
~Jim Eagle
Greatest duo ever! ❤ thank you for sharing your wisdom and showing such compassion without being judgmental… You’ve helped so many people
I love our school. They send a sheet home with all the teachers, support staff and administrators on it you can specify the amount for each, if you want. Then it’s all combined with other families in a gift card for each one. The include janitors and such too. Love it
Thank you for helping us stay on budget and be wise financially. Very grateful.
A huge huge issue with the nurse video is that MOST people think they should just have tons of money chilling in their checking; idk who sold us that lie but a lot of people think that way. If your needs are met, you have everything paid & barely have any money in your checking…you’re doing it right! Rogue dollars lead to rogue spending.
Omg Jade cracks me up over high car payments 😂
Most students don't give teachers gifts at all. Teachers don't expect gifts from students but they are appreciated. It is also sweet to get a simple bag of candy / snack.
Since our kids were teens and we were in debt, we began drawing a name and we still do. The gift started at $10 value. Now it's $25 value.
Speaking of insurance!! We went to Zander recently y’all and we’re saving $1600 a year (and even got an umbrella policy added!) and the coverage is a chunk better than what had before!!! Go Zander!! Shout out to Sam! He spent hours helping me and was SO patient, knowledgeable and kind!! Highly recommend him and the company.
How many Christmas gifts from last year do you remember? This brings clarity.
Our 2 yo has a $130 budget & our 5 yo has a $180 budget & we’re done. Educational toys, books, clothes they need & coloring stuff. No junk plastic toys & our boys have always had these kids of Christmases & they are so grateful.
We also adopt a foster kid every Christmas & shop for her then shop for a homeless couple.
They need to learn how to be grateful, give, & content. That’s it
Love it Caleb! Way to go!
Glad we are finally having some mention of taxes when making major financial changes - thank you, Rachel!
Jade says Dec 26th it’s over. Oh, no - the stores are fully decorated for Valentines Day!
I miss the dave ramsey show.
This IS the Dave Ramsey show.
No, it is the Ramsey Show. It hasn't been called the Dave Ramsey Show for two years@@av-lz5db
I see many keep saying they miss Dave, but the show will either end or change; it has to. Dave will not live forever and eventually he’ll either want to retire or pass on. Transitioning new people is the best way to keep the business going and for everyone employed to keep their jobs. People can take or leave the new format. Will the show continue to be successful once Dave is completely gone? Only time will tell.
@@av-lz5db : Dave removed the "Dave" several years ago. Since then, it's been "The Ramsey Show."
Times have changed and in order to get younger viewers you need younger personalities.
At times, Dave is too grumpy and too political. No one wants to hear his constant negativity.
Caleb! Awesome! Just wowed and smiled all throughout the call!
Look, I've lived in poverty areas and prominent areas. I've never seen a school send home a gift list for teachers. I have to say that that would make me feel obligated and i can't imagine the shame some families would feel who really can't afford it at Christmas. I have never bought a gift my kids' teachers and i have a soon to be 18 year old and three 10 year olds. I can't imagine the costs associated when all my kids hit middle school with 8 different teachers. I think it's ok to say that you're only buying for your kids, or only immediate family, or set boundaries with doing parties where everyone buys 1 gift and has a limit to spend.
My mortgage is almost the same as the guy with the $1700 truck payment. 😮
I haven’t read previous comments on this… I think Devin needs to consider that if his car is parked on the street and get hits by another car (which happened to us 😢), liability only doesn’t cover the cost of the replacement. We thought our old truck wasn’t worth much when this happened, and it turns out the insurance company would have paid out 2- 3 times what i would have expected… it was devastating! Keep comprehensive AND collision! That’s my vote for Devin 😉
My parents bought a home in 1964. Just ordinary home 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. We only paid $64. a month. We pay it off in about 25 years . I hate to think how much the house payment after I lost it. Because of bankruptcy. It was chapter 12. I went into disability. I live in section 8. apt. My rent is very low.they pay on power, water, heat ac. Thank goodness that really help me.
If your bills are paid and have groceries with “only” $200-300 leftover. And you get paid again in a week? What’s the problem? I really don’t understand why she’s crying. What am I missing?
She probably gets paid Bi-weekly
I thought the same. Keep piling up that 200-300 every time. She’s just emotionally suffering from FOMO.
I'm guessing for their jobs and what they make she feels like she should more money than that. If anything happens they would be up a creek. It would help to know a bit more of her specifics.
I thought the same thing. She's on biweekly pay, but still. 200-300 to live on for 2 weeks isn't small. I missed whether groceries got paid already, but I thought jade said they did. I have a family of 5/6 (one is part time) and I spend 1200/mo on groceries, toiletries, and cleaners combined. I buy a much organic, grass finished, pasture raised as I can find. That's 300/ wk. I rarely use coupons, but recently Kroger started sending them to us so we have been using those and I use the digital coupons in the app. We get the bulk of our shopping at Costco or Sam's and pick up stuff at can't find there or fresh items we need today at Kroger. I also don't eat gluten so there are some expensive substitutions. It can be done. Set a budget and live by it.
Some jobs do pay only monthly so that could be it. But don't remember if she said she was getting another check soon.
CALEB!! Good job, buddy!! 🤩You are paving the way to a highly successful, financially organized, abundant life. Well done, son, and well done parents! Keep up the incredible work as you remain a true role model for countless other youth (and adults!) 🙌👊👍🎆
Let me tell you something that little kid that was 12 years old that says he uses every dollar and he budget. He’s 12 years old the collar before this kid literally had $100,000 car talk about priorities oh my God what the heck are grown adults doing a 12 year old is out winning a grown-up that’s unbelievably great. It’s so sad to hear every color call in and you see oh I have a 50,000 or a $60,000 car and I’m like so you don’t care about your future you don’t care about investing any stock market for retirement and watching your money grow for you instead of your car payment growingand you getting all that interest interest when that could be in your favor and be in your account growing for you
Regarding Christmas gifts for school staff, our elementary school puts out a “staffs favorites” list linked at the end of the weekly newsletter. It includes each teachers favorite candy, favorite restaurant, favorite colors, and favorite store. It has been so helpful over the years.
Keeping up with the joneses who are keeping up with the smiths who are keeping up with the wannabes who are keeping up with the joneses, ridiculous behaviour to have.
She lives in NY, that explains it.
When will every dollar app become available in the Caribbean ??
Caleb rocks! Future millionaire$$$$$
I also tagged you guys on the New York Times news feed where I first saw it.
No way do most families spend only $876 on all Christmas-gifts, decorations, etc The public goes crazy at Christmas!
They spend more than that. Jewellery, clothes, Xmas decorations, eating out, toys, gifts to family, co- workers. I WAS one of those stupid people.
It’s an average
We are on a strict budget and set limits for each person, and our budget is 2025.00. We have 2 grown kids at 100/ea, 3kids at 200 each that we had to increase, 1 kid at 300, 5 or 6 friends that are couples at 25/ea, parents at 100ea, 1 grand parent at 100, and we had each other in there but increased our kids budget so probably will go over.
It's the average. You have to take into account people like me who might only spend $50 or less lol
Caleb! Such a sweetheart
Rachel- based on many of the calls- your book should also be bought and read by adults. stop keeping up with the jones’. Everyone and not just kids should be glad with what they already have.
My parents bought our house in 1964. It was a regular home. 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The house payment was like *😊
I wish they would have told scrooge mom the same thing they said yesterday. "Adult's don't need gifts!"
True & Be grateful for whatever gift you get. If you don't like it or can't use it then re-gift it😊
🤡😪😭😭😥😭😭😭 "We bought a $1.19 million house and we don't like it any moooooore" 🤪🤪🤪😬😬😬😬🤡
Kevin says he makes 14,000 a month. No, "what do you do!?" There must be a legal reason why they don't ask that question anymore. Its non existent.
Selling bananas, humans... Kidding, not bananas.
I work with guys brand new make 20k a month on the railroad.
Does it matter? The answers are vague anyway (eg “sales”, “tech”, etc).
RUclipsrs make quite a bit. $10k-$30k after a million Views. Some 20-year-old uploaded 5-minute video on how to take in a waistline by cutting holes and sliding an elastic through with a safety pin.... 9 million Views 😄
Caleb great job!!
Andy from Tulsa: Your silly daughter needs to figure this out on her own. Leave her alone!!
For half a second I thought that Jade's earrings where credit cards cut in half the cover picture for this video is the picture I'm referring to😂😂
Talk people at work into doing a mystery gift exchange with a limit... and just make sure that amounts to enough gifts for everyone. Also, double check and make space for people who really just can't afford to spend anything extra opt out...or for another coworker to donate to allow them to be able to not be left out. Some people want to give more and that's a great opportunity.
Why did they let Monica go on and on?
Because women talk!
I tuned out after 30 seconds.
When you are getting ready for Christmas holiday. Don't spend a bunch on your kids. They want so much. You will explain to family and relations. You can't blow all your money on Christmas.
The people demoing their HISTORIC farm house are making a huge mistake. Nothing they build will be as good as RESTORING that old home. Broken joists and rot can ALL be fixed. Bad additions can be rebuilt. Old homes were built with old growth woods. Heart pine was eradicated and can only be found in lakes and rivers for use to restore these old homes. My 1885 heart pine is so hard that it breaks screws. Everything has to be predrilled. It also has properties that keep bugs out of it. That's not to say that termites can't get into it, but it is much less likely than anything new. They need to find a company that specializes in restoration and knows old houses to fix it.
30% on housing isn't a realistic metric to hold people to. Practical to try to aspire to. Unfortunately yes housing % is off for A LOT of people. Were in a crisis in this country and to act like were not is kind of like putting your head in the sand...
That is because families want to start in homes larger than they can afford
The best way way to build wealth is to start investing at a young age. A Teenager’s Guide on how to Invest Like Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger is a good book for teens.
Is this show real? First caller said they make 90k. But have 33k in debt and the show says it can be paid in a year. Wth.
It's for real. My husband and I have started following the Ramsey plan, and "found money"! & have started paying off our debt much faster than we even imagined we could, knowing our stats! And we're loving seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
Jade, just got your book in the mail, I preordered it about 3 weeks ago. I had to email Ramsey support to see about the free Q&A with you and apparently it was on the 7th. Makes no sense why I wasn’t told anything about it sooner.
20$ per teacher could really add up.
I love the smart answer that they gave it was head on 🔥
Tennessee let common core math in their schools?!? Nooooo, how awful!
Target Date funds always are under performers.
to the nurse on the tick-tock vid--it really depends what state u work in when it comes to pay--California Nurses make the most in the Nation--midwest and the south pay the worse--better to work at target. I really hope the nurse calls into Ramsey--🙏
I think it was meant to rack
Up views! Why would you put your dirty laundry for all to see? Stop blaming other people. She clearly does not know how to manage her money. Sorry but not sorry. 💁🏻♀️
54:26 Jake good call. I also have a pension at 12% here in AZ that I contribute to.
Liability only on your car means no coverage for collision if you're in an accident. You still have Liability coverage on your policy. Drop full coverage for a car that iw worth that little to Liability only.
Monica from San Jose: You impulse buy a home for $1.2 million? Now you don't like it? Maybe you didn't think this through.
My parents never gave gifts to our teachers lol & they were all just fine. HOWEVER, we will be giving a couple hundred to our date night/random need baby sitter. I think that’s different, personally.
The most meaningful gifts I ever received as a teacher were heartfelt written notes from my students mentioning some specific the either learned or remembered doing in my class. I still treasure those notes today and still have all of them!
I'm getting a Gold Trident now 😢
Didnt even ask the people that hated the house if they could afford the hit. I feel like thats important. And while they will take a loss, a house they might like might have also dropped a bit in value because of interest rates. Also, didnt bring up if they have even looked if they can get a similar house from what they wanted or if that was a unicorn.
🤔 let me go through my contacts to see who could give my 14 year old a job 2 days per week.
Me & 130 co-workers and other friends in my congregation had their 401k’s stolen and I never hear any justifications as to why ppl still invest in 401k’s and believe it’s secure…
That’s heartbreaking
How? What company were y'all using?
The liability guy needs to not drop his insurances, but look at things that aren't necessity... like his phone bill. Go to bare bones on that phone. I didn't even go to bare bones on ours because my husband needs backup reliable internet for work just in case our house internet goes out (which it does), and I was able to save us about 50$/mo just dropping things down. Our 17 year old son also started paying his portion of the bill to teach him some responsibility and accountability with bills. He also started paying his portion of insurance on his car when he got his license.
I want to download an electronic copy of Jade's book. When will the ebook be available?
I hate that they don't get more into some of these issues. It feels like Dave gets into them deeper sometimes. I think it's ok to continue with the same person on a call after a commercial if the situation calls for it.
She's in a bigger house than I am! Single mom, two kids. If I can do it anyone can.
I swear at 44 min 11 sec someone said "shit" on the mic
Thanks for all the good advice😂. With Bitcoin just below $39k do you think it could break $40k by next Friday?
That crying nurse.......My wife and I were paycheck to paycheck for a long time and $40 till next Friday was great. Her and her husband have $300, THATS RICH. Sorry but I sense some fake BS TicTac on her.
Amazon KDP publishing for the book wouldn't cost him money to publish his new book
That’s something most people do not understand. My Mom has published 3 books with that and she started at age 90. They print as demand comes in. Costs nothing to the author and an author can purchase his or her own books very inexpensively to give away.
13:47 Caleb should be investing in the S&P500. The whole saving stuff is good…but there is no growth.
At 12??? Is that even possible/legal? I think they gave him great advice.
@@lcam9241 hahahah yes at 12!!!!! Time in the market is EVERYTHING! What is the growth in a savings account compared to an investment account with the funds invested?
Caleb invest in fund that tracks the S&P 500 that’s what Ramsey would have said. Have your dad open an account
LJ talks like he is contributing into a retirement fund, doesn’t he put money into the 457, or is it only the business that puts the money in?. Also, he mentioned he has savings. If he’s really going to follow the baby steps, he needs to stop contributing to the 457 and throw the savings at the debt.
Hell no Kevin don’t be selling that truck. you’re talking to ladies. Keep that truck just pay it off. Hurry up.
Lol! 🤭 94K for a non-work truck?? I'm a lady and think that fact is irrelevant. That's insane! $1700 car payment!!!!! My mortgage is only $1038 (w/escrow). Crazy. Can't relate.
I am a bit disappointed at the advice given to Brenda. I mean Ramsey Solutions have published a number of books, couldn't they have recommended a publisher they know and use. I feel like they didn't help her at all. They just discussed her issue with no actual solution.
I think they have their own publishing company, like it is their company. So they wouldn't have any recommendations if they don't use outside publishers
6:58
my wife self-published and also paid for publishing- perhaps I can provide a good reference
Man wants to drop car insurance 💀💀💀
1700 month is nothing if you were pulling in 12000.
Jade was really confused on the car insurance question. Yikes.
Yep, that's what I have been saying that when Dave and George aren't on, the advice is subpar. Rachel is decent, but when Jade gives financial advice, it's scary and she can get the team in trouble with her advice. Fortunately, they are not held to any regs, but still the reputation can take a hit. Ramsey needs to have these personalities get a serious crash course in finance
@@reyrey992 right! George is the closest to Dave in terms of accurate financial advice. Unfortunately , Jade tends to wing it. Rachel is good, but she gets softball questions. Ken is great and understands where he’s limited.
