Imo Mojang should add seasonal variants to existing biomes. I think an autumn birch forest would look amazing.
A world toggle for seasons would be great
They need to bring back the snowy leaves of Bedrock
Autumn dark forest too with dark red leaves

I think that most of the biomes need more plant diversity to really make each biome more unique and would just make them look so much better
As a plant lover, I agree. I think flowering vines for decoration or poison ivy would be cool or even 2-block tall trees/shrubs
Exactly
Right? They don't even need a use besides aesthetic, I've spent so much of my time in Minecraft, exploring, farming, trading, just to find all of the biomes just so I can have all of the plants 🌿🌺🌵🌻 🥀🏵️🍀🌼🪴💐❇️

For the "Mushroom Caves" Idea, It would be amazing if they added a new variant of mushrooms that glow in the dark, maybe a bright blue or green. Like the mushrooms In the New Zealand glowworm caves. With these mushrooms they could add new potion effects, new foods, new blocks, and new lighting options.
@Spamton G Spamton™ imagine if someone had the patience to make terraria in minecraft:o
@@personcalledalexis someone already made Minecraft in Minecraft so I would be surprised if no one actually though about that.
the devs have already said that they will not be making a glowing mushroom
This! 🙏🙌
Oceans need underwater trenches with a unique flora and fauna.
Taiga and temperate forest need their own bears.
Jungle needs a neutral mob like a Jaguar and a unique hostile mob . Also special underwater caverns taking inspiration from Central Mexico and unique rivers inspired by the Amazon.
With the Mesa, I'd go full wild west with a new type of villagers and Illager bandits.
Deserts need Oasis and tumbleweed.
Talking about Oasis, finally add palm trees for both that and islands in warm oceans.
Edit: In real life birch bark is very useful for both fire starting (due to its oils) and making makeshift containers. They could make it so that stripping birch wood with an axe gives it as an item and you can craft something with that.
There is this mod called biome makeover, it makes the illager patrols in the mesa wear cowboy hats and ride horses. I agree with everything you're saying the bears could even just be a reskin black in tiaga brown in temperate
@@kb6358 or they could take a page from Alex's Mobs, the bear is awesome there
true, a cool late game reason to venture down there to the trenches could be cool
@@aguyontheinternet8436 ah yes, I played alexs mobs 3 days after release and the bear was my favourite
I came to the comments to mention about birch bark as fire starters! Glad I'm not the only one.
Side note: have all wood types drop their bark. I'm sure some player could find a use in crafting; maybe wallpaper (without needing your whole wall be a wood block, helps keep your place from burning down), or a new block Marcida (which is when you layer paper or other materials soaked in resin to make a cool looking striped pattern) which may include another new item, tree sap.
I would like to see the aurora borealis added to the snowy biomes and have it happen every three in-game days
My shader has aurora borealis and It is amazing
@ which is it? o:
Oh that's an incredible idea. I personally think it should be ever so slightly less common. Plus, I think it could maybe have some effects, like reduced or maybe no mob spawns that night. I think that could be cool
id rlly like it if they added gold rush ghost towns in mesas - a special abandoned village variant only found in mesas w special loot (maybe more gold, always having at least 1 saddle somewhere, more or better pickaxes) that resemble the gold rush ghost towns of california. maybe they always spawn with a mineshaft directly below, but not all mineshafts will have a town above
This is a better idea imo. Make it a village which can have a zombie/skeleton variant (honestly the latter would be interesting). Also, why not add in (not just for the mesa) bandit camps. We have tent designs and structures around the outposts, but why not add little camps which perhaps spawn less pillagers (while making them more prevalent).
"But some black bears look like brown bears and some brown bears look like back black bears-"
-ibxtoycat 2022
Its true tho
Here's a wild idea.. Since they already sort of hijacked oak trees for Azalea.. Why not just make an actual apple tree? Oak tree texture with visible apples in the foliage, that drops on average, 9 apples when cut
Or another variety of apple like the green apple just for fun!
@@everydayaccount8784 it could be used for potions to (probably poison to reference the sour apple)
@@vacantsix1586that's such a good idea!
A neat idea for the swamp would be to automatically decrease the render distance to simulate fog/mist. This would make them more difficult to navigate and increase the special atmosphere.
Honestly just look at terralith if you want inspiration for improved vanilla biomes. The larger spruce trees automatically make the world a lot better looking
I would really love if Minecraft could make an Enchanted forest. It could have more chance of spawning an amethyst crystals that would bring some spice in the game
I like the idea of having specifically beach mobs, for survival islands and making beaches interesting. Something like a crab could be nice
Crab legs!!!
I mean turtles is kind of this
Rip
With all respect Toycat.
But Taiga grass is best grass and no one on this platform can change my mind XD
noo jungle grass is the best
Yea I like that one a bit less but I still think it's a good colour
The taiga colours and landscape just scream cozy
My favourite grass colour is probably the normal forest though it looks very lush but not as much as the jungle
Moss is best grass
I like forest and plains grass the best it has a nestalic feel to it because it was the 1st grass to Minecraft
WHY WOULD YOU SAY TAIGA GRASS GREEN IS BAD >:( its a very nice and lovely color thank you!! Its literally the best grass color in vanilla, like ever.
Yes sir
It really depends on personal opinion. I’m not the biggest fan of that grass color but it really depends on what I am going for if I’m building a house in the taiga biome then I like that color because the color of grass suits the biome it has that kind of a bit cold feeling that a pine tree like forest should have. Everyone who is reading this have a good day.

@@Mordread3234 I agree on that, it depends on what youre building honestly. I just build a lot with deepslate, spruce, etc and i just love that color palette. But saying its awful?? Come on.. thats a bit much right?
I disagree
Cope, seethe, mald 😈
One thing for the flower forest; what if some of the 2 block tall flowers could grow into flower trees and these flower trees can rarely spawn naturally in the flower forest?
They should update the jungle and desert temples, make them bigger and with more variations. Right now they're pretty underwhelming, especially compared to the newer structures like bastions
Since there’s so many different forest biomes. I think they should just do a “forest update” and make the same changes to each type. For example in the concept art there was these weird mushrooms on the birch trees so maybe they could put them on all the different types of trees. They could also give each tree a 2 by 2 variant. Also the other thing in the concept art was a new type of flower which can be added to each forest. And fallen trees are all ready in Bedrock. I didn’t notice much else in the concept art
I always felt like the deep dark would be more suited for the End. Sure they added islands, chorus and cities but...There's not much to it than that. You just zoom in there, find an elytra and be on your way.
The sculk thingies, as well as their textures, always gave me alien vibes, which are perfect for a space-like place.
With the addition of warped and crimson forests perhaps the mushroom island could be related to it? Like a bit of nether leaking into the real world which in turn makes it more docile and fantasy like.
Locating lush caves by finding an azalea tree always seemed a bit...Rudimentary? They could've instead had the azalea caves be a commonly occurring cave type in the jungle, or shoot even the flower forest. On the topic of caves other cave variants for different biomes would be amazing, plus ore variants. Just imagine a mesa cave with ores in clay instead of stone, or even clay stalagmites/stalactites.
Sorry for the novel, just had to get these thoughts out X)
They should give us the swamp villages. They could have all the houses over the water on stilts connected by bridges and have the cleric show up more frequently for that bayou magic.
they could improve the swamp by adding fireflies, wouldn't that be cool
I wouldn't mind seeing an introduction to new variants of biomes, like for an example, a marsh with cattails and fewer trees than swamps
The some other dimensional biomes are kind of lacking, such as soulsand valley and end islands
Seeing a marsh in there would be so cool to me, I'd feel right at home if they had variants of the marshes.
@@KaneyoriHK Maybe it would bring environmental awareness to disappearing wetlands
I'd make the birch trees have a skinny log, size similar or a bit bigger than the fence posts. I'd also space them out a bit more.
Ok I just thought of this. We should have quicksand! Not sure where but it would be so cool and they can use the same block mechanic as the powder snow.
I really love these ideas, Minecraft would be so much fun to explore if even just a few of these where added!

Little tip tho, I’ve come dangerously close an American black bear, and my advice for them is, if they’re not attacking or seem like they’re not going to, don’t provoke them, don’t look them in the eye and don’t show your teeth, just slowly back away as quietly as possible and don’t scare them. if they do come really close to you though, lay down on your chest and cover your neck with your hands, most likely they’ll just check you out a little, maybe claw you or bite you a bit, but you should wait till they’ve left, they’re definitely more afraid of you then you are of them, also remember, black bears can climb trees. Just a lil tip from the woods ;)
Wow I never thought I’d Be giving American black bear survival tips under a video about Minecraft, but just thought someone may want to know lol
I really love mushroom islands, they are the perfect place to make a village where Villagers can live without any fear, since hostile mobs can't spawn there.
At the same time I think it's a little empty. I would like to be able to survive only in a mushroom island. Maybe a new type of mushrooms that you can use to craft wood with would be nice.
I love your ideas but I personally think we also need jellyfish for some ocean ambiance, icicles for frozen taiga ambiance, and hyenas for mesa ambiance. That’s just my opinion.
icicles in any frozen biome would be cool, imagine them in moutain caves and on villager houses
Hyenas in a mesa?? Do you mean savannah?
Idk I thought hyenas are more common in mesa
Instead of a mesa pyramid temple maybe they could add a Pueblo village found in the side of the cliffs like at Mesa Verde National Park that were built by the native Pueblo peoples
For the taiga forest they should add abandon taverns or something like that. Maybe even abandon mills with the water wheels
DAMN 48 YEARS 😭
It'd be cool to have the black fox variant spawn in the mega taiga biome.
as a toycat customer for a few years now, I can say nothing but praise. I have saved myself from so many statistical house fires! Glad to see that this channel agrees with supporting these small businesses!
The world of Minecraft just really really needs more life. Wether that's insects, different animals, more plants, sounds, wind, ect... Something! Structure even, it just feels so massive and empty after a while.
Can we please get a nether variant of the Mushroom Islands Biome..
Would give more use for striders and would give another sustainable food source for the nether only people.. XD
Also not gonna lie I do also believe that there could be a little bit more done for the Mushroom Biome but it is a perfect biome to say the least.. CX
I think it would be nice to have a seasons cycle that happens in a bunch of biomes. Plains, meadows, birch forest, oak forest, tiga, and tundra should all have a traditional 4 season cycles of winter spring summer and fall, but the leaves probably wouldn't fall off. I mean, unless they naturally regrew in spring and also stayed put if a player sheered them and then places them. They'd keep the colors of when they were sheered too I think. But I (someone with no working programming knowlage) think that would be difficult to compute without breaking something.
But yeah, summer is what these biomes look like normally (except tundra, in summer the snow and ice melts), fall the leaves turn colors depending on the tree type and a leaf falling animation can play under leaves (snowy biomes begin to refreeze, small amounts of snow fall). Winter snows or rains a lot if biome is too hot, and most tree types loose their leaves (except tiga because it's used as a pine), and in spring the snow melts away bit by bit and leaf blocks grow back onto the bare trees (in snowy places it just stops snowing, maybe minor snow melting.)
The quality of his videos lately have been steadily increasing. Keep up the hard work toycat, and the rest of your team!
I think there ontop of updated biomes, there should be more fantasy biomes! a swamp varient slime biome, a mystical forest with even bigger dark oaks and glowy shrooms where the allay live. and a volcanic biome/hotsprings but with giant fossils in the ground surface. Icy caves I want so badly (not fantasy) but imagine pointed ice dripstones, and maybe spawn in a new ice mob that can use that freezing effect as an attack.
i love the running house fires joke 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the Christmas gift we need.
I don't think that birch trees should have a 2by2 variant and definitely not a 3by3. In real life, they are relatively tall and very slender. Also in fall they turn a bright firey orange! So if they ever add seasons or something I hope they stick to that cuz it's soo pretty in real life.
Maybe the only addition to mushroom islands is a villager type, just like the jungle and swam you can only obtain one through a villager growing up there
or maybe elves could live in mushroom islands
adding mushrooms, flowers and butterflies to the birch forests would be amazing😍
I live pretty close to Bryce Canyon! It was fun to hear it mentioned!
Yeah, I think the mooshroom island is great, if I could ever find one.
I have literally never seen one and I have traveled a looooot in Minecraft over the years.
I would love new swamp variants, like marshes, peat bogs and cedar swamps.
Real life has so many amazing biomes, why not borrow from that?
My Grandma and a turtle combined could beat Mojang in a foot race
It took them 10 years! TO UPDATE THE FREAKING DESERT!

I specifically argue with thick birch trees, if only because of how skinny birch trees always are in real life. I do think it would be cool if they, for instance, dropped mushrooms, since there's a real life mushroom people like called chagga, that grows on birch trees.
the texture for birch also looks unnatural when they're placed side by side

I can't believe you predicted the Bogged
how to improve the swamp... add willow trees, this gives green tinted wood which is currently absent from the colour pallet.

1:56 What seed and cords is that? Pls. Also amazing vids. Keep up the good work :)
10:06 predicted the bogged
omg he did
I gave up on vanilla Minecraft in 1.4.7. Mods add all the changes you want and more - new biomes, new trees (acacia before vanilla) and many mob mods.
I think they should have Moab and Navajo-inspired architecture in the mesa biome instead of a temple, it would be super cool and go with the representation of all cultures theme Minecraft has.
As an Alaskan I heartily approve of your bear safety knowledge
I want a wandering bard. Rare and sells note blocks, jukebox, maybe horns maybe a disc only the bard has.
10:30 well i have found a mod that actually totally overhauled the mushroom island for me without changing the appereance of the island itself, mushroom planks, its a mod that gives brown mushrooms and white mushrooms their unique looking wooden planks and stuff like doors, stairs, fences, etc, and it was heckin amazing, building a mushroom house in a mushroom island living out of mushroom soup and cow beef was a fresh experience for my minecraft gameplay, 10/10 would recommend.
3:42 lol the Bear puns
The badlands is really just missing a lil Wild West village that gives the villagers cowboy hats
To identify a black bear vs a brown bear you look at the face and ear shapes. In the wild that's a terrible idea so the way to tell them apart at a distance is grizzly bears have a big hump on their back and black bears don't.
jungle idea: sinkholes, a deep cavern with water, like a sinkhole that filled with water over the years would be an amazing find tbh
bears would be AMAZING!!!
if you find a brown bear you would have to sneak and stay still until it left and for black bears you would have to run
What happened to the end card? I look forward to the puns/jokes lol You just hit us with a “Bye!” Lmao 😂
Trees in general just need an overhaul, I would add two new blocks, leaf patch and branches. The leaf patch acts similar to grass in that it grows off a block, in this case a leaf block it can grow on top, side, and bottom of leaf blocks when 9 are gathered they can be used to craft a leaf block. The branch’s grow under the leaves and work similarly to spider Webs in that you can walk through them but they slow your movement, they can be broken and used to craft sticks or used together to create a plank block of whatever wood they came from, they also make good firewood.
toycat straight up forgot about strays lol
I would suggest making rivers flow from a source. As in rivers have to start from mountains and downhill towards oceans
ibxtoycat: Why is everything oak?
Me: Oak is just superior
Ibxtoycat: “That’s not how tree work in the real world”
Also ibxtoycat: *wants a 3x3 birch tree*
It would make sense if they did a biome update!
Voted by the community, 5 biomes get a massive update!
I tried getting that cool pattern of flowers but when I used bone meal, it would only spread whatever flower I bone mealed or make random flowers with no pattern if I bone mealed the ground
5:27 Jungle snakes a neutral mob when killed it will drop it's fangs you can use it to craft a venomous dagger to poison the target when hit by this weapon
i always wanted snakes in the game
If I were to redo biomes from the start I would do thoses things.
-simplify the biomes. Right now there is multiple biomes variant that are just there for slight variants or edges like the jungle edge. This because of the changes I would do.
-add biomes variants. Basicaly likebirch forest and old sprouts birch. Or savanna and plateau savanna. They would just be suffixes, making the locate biome command easier to use. All the variants would have differences whether it terrain or generation stuff I will present next.
-then once that is determine I would add what I call biome assets. It's basicaly stuff that would add variation inside of a biome. They all have custom rules to appear. From purely random anywhere in the biome to focusing on the edges, where caves cross the surface or dependent on other biome assets.
-thoses biome assets can vary from more of this type of trees (fallen or tall etc), to terrain generation like adding a lake (yeah current lake generation would be gone or at least nerfed and not alone) or a plateau.
As an example : a glade. Can generate at random in forte biome. A random shape is placed where no trees can spawn, up to 2 additional one can randomly be placed as well to create more varied and cool shapes. Outside of the main one smaller one can randomly generate around the centre of the glade. They are either a patch of three or a patch of no tree. Then the glade can randomly either be no tree or tree stumps.
Now combine that with all other biomes assets of the biome and you get flower patches, grassless parts, taller trees all mixing up so that 2 biomes newt to one another aren't the same.
-then generation, so terrain and trees happend.
-then more natural structures like rocks and stuff. (you know the place command)
-now use this system for every biomes. In caves and stuff. Add that with modification to the basic generation like more of this ore in this biome etc. And exclusive casual structures like lone villagers in mountains,, exclusive villagers in some biomes, dolmains in forest, etc. More plants and blocs to accommodate variants. And you get a pretty expensive generation system.
(quick note caves are not taken into account here. But exactly like How température affect biome neighborhing, the caves should do the same with the surface biome.)
Man, id flip out if i ever found out when the house fire gag started. I remember that i was there when it started, dont know what video it was tho. Feels like yesterday but by the way time flies id say its been 2 years.
Toycat what is the seed to the jungle island with the jungle temple on it? looks pretty cool. Great video btw.
7:21 oh my god birch tree gives paper needs to happen. since axes already have the stripping function, how about a new tool to be able to gather birch bark, and then I don't know, make that craftable into paper?
Wasn't expecting such a high quality video today 10/10
Fixing ocean islands and beaches can be like adding Palm Trees and giving the islands a rare chance to spawn an abandoned structure, terrible loot but can have some rare tools like enchanted fishing rods, enchanted sheers and a new tool, the Spear, but with rare enchants. Basically a Trident reskin but with weaker attack points and some different specific enchantments, one can be "Attatchment" which is basically Loyalty, but when you hit a mob it pulls the mob in, like a fishing rod, but better. Can also be crafted, basically a diagnal shover. Adding coconuts that can work like Coco beans but planted to the ceiling of leaves. Giving a new food source that you can drink from if hit with a sword or picaxe, but if its sheared you can use it like a Snowball and throw it at an opponent doing actual pretty good damage. When done drinking from the coconut it can be worn as a helmet or eaten from again that fills your hunger more but doesnt give much saturation. Making the wood to have a more yellow tint would be unique, not accurate, but unique. If they want accuracy then make it black speccaled light orange, less unique cause of mangrove's color and the black specs kinda ruin the consistant patterns, but still pretty cool. Adding a new mob, the crab, can include another meat source, not giving a lot of hunger points but a lot of saturation cause crab meat tastes good af and heals your soul. Adding a shell item which creats a money symbol to the loom on a banner that gives the "money, money, money, money" acheivement when crafted, can also be added to the spear as a design, other designs include, a feather, a spider eye, a bone, leather, scute, and a prismarine shard, just designs no change to combat. New addition to the Boat, putting a boat and a banner in the crafting table can turn it into a sailboat, with the banner's design. It gives a speed boost to your boat, but limits your ability to have a chest or second player, and worsens turning ability but this can be a good thin. This will allow boats on ice to be an even better means of transportation since the turning speed is lower, it makes it easier to control on ice. I'm making the actual Wild Update appearenly.
What's weird is Seeing A Dr. Squatch ad to Toycat's video
They really need to teach more about those sneaky polar bears 👀
Also: no joke at the end? Are you stopping this? 🥺
Having a Dripstone exclusive arthropod that climbed along the ceilings and knocked dripstone down onto you would be so evil and I'd love it
The man loves mesa bryce biomes so much he moved there irl.
forests need more diversity with wood types, there needs to be at least 5 new wood types there
2:25 HEY HEY HEY Why the slander on the Taiga Biome, it's my favorite :(
Minecraft should make the mesa have a cliff temple and it should be high in resorece but it has alot more hostile mobs at the same time
10:04 Not to far off with the Bogged!
Make the oaks in the swamps alders and we habe a new wood type
They could add new foliage items to mix in the cauldron to color e.g. wood (realistically?) so the color is somewhat realistic but still differentiated
The only way I’d want Mushroom islands to be updated is caves of course but a little more foliage Cos to me it feels a too barren. Different sized mushrooms instead of big-small, maybe patches or 2 high mushrooms. Another is villages, houses made out of mushrooms with unique villagers too, just more to make the islands feel more full.
It would be great if there was a murky or swampy skeleton witch was covered in vines and it used vines, Lilly pads and the swamp water to hide and it shot and dropped poison arrows
A nirvana esque sheep heaven would honestly be super fitting and counters the nether and the end for their darkness lol
Suggested water variants:
Swamp Water
Spring Water
Sea Water
so on so forth...
11:04 I like that idea especially if there's rare occasion of a long stretch of ocean that have many unique islands close to each other. Instead of them being each of them isolated by 1000s of blocks there could be groups of 4 or 5 and maybe you'd find something like the Alola region (Pokémon Sun/Moon).
SPOILERS for One Piece
not plot but just the world building and geography because geography is EVERYTHING
To take it a step further, a New World type could be added called "Oda" with only oceans and islands generated go full One Piece with it. Generate 3 Red Lines(A,B,C), right? Stretch them far apart to where the others aren't visible and so a teleport command could be implemented at the farthest ends with Reverse Mountain(A,C) because Mary Geoise(B) would be on the middle RL. Then in between, the Grand Line running perpendicular and of course the islands along the GL with all sorts of unique and special variants of biomes. You have the Calm Belt parallel to the GL which is difficult to give any defining feature to since wind isn't a thing in minecraft and still ocean doesn't work exactly. Finally, the 4 Blues could be where all the normal biomes are to drive you to adventure more of the Grand Line. Oh, I feel Skypiea deserves its own dimension since it acts different from the rest of the world especially with the cloud tech, 2 white seas, and upper yard. Fishman Island could probably have its own dimension so think the End before 1.9 because outside the island is endless seafloor.
The only thing I think that could be added to the mushroom biome, is maybe more variants of mushroom animals, and new mushrooms in general. They could make it feel so much lively while still staying to the original beauty of the island
Oak wood be getting our boy Toycat fired up
Mojang should really listen to this guy
What if certain biomes had exclusive cat variants? Witch's huts would have a special form of black cat, Desert villages could have Sphinx cats, Taiga could have Norwegian Forest cats etc.
Biomes update:im the longest update to make!
Cave update:hold my minecraft version
It makes me a little sad to see how long it'll be to get some things updated. But toycat! You should check out that post on r/minecraft suggestions about waystones and long distances generation! And the idea of new strange and hard biomes generating really far out kinda like how end portals do, they even have ideas for the nether too
