Over the years, karate has mixed with other techniques from Budou(japanese Martial arts) like Jujutsu. Aikido, by Morihei Ueshiba was created from the techniques from Jujutsu, so that is why they look alike.
problem with shotokan is all the students thinking the all tehnicks like zuki in zenkutsu dahi is real tehnik..i thing only in theory.people can train zuki with full step and keep wery low zenkutsu but this is only to preper body for real fight(same problem is with clasic block)in real fight keep wery high gard and us low kick..using leg for blocking legs atack, and hands by hand atack..and modifited all moves..thats why all shotokan competytion fight looks no real...
Harada is Shotokai, which is softer and more flowing than Shotokan. They also incorporate more circular movements I believe, similar to Aikido.
