Yeah Counter-Strike is another game where fun got sacrificed on the altar of competitive viability and live service garbage. CSGO became boring faster than 1.6 despite technically having more content.

your observations about youtube not liking older videos are very in-line with my experiences. i remember in 2019 i would get recommendations from videos you made back in 2014-2015. but for the majority of this year, it seems that your videos have fallen off my recommendations entirely. i still come back and watch every couple of weeks or so, either by watching your newest 2 videos or watching my favorites from yours, but all of that comes from me manually searching your channel by itself. but i admire the optimism that you have shown in this video! it felt like watching a completely different person when i compare this year's anal to last year's. anyways, keep being you philip, i will watch your videos for as long as i am alive.
I've experienced the same thing. Most of my yt recommendations now are mostly videos from big channels that came out recently with the stray old meme clip sprinkled in once the algorithm sees it regaining popularity. Most other older videos are just unseen unless i choose to go to old playlists and revisit them.
You know what's funny? My recommendations were like that for a while but because it recommended me almost nothing I cared about at all, it finally gave up on trying to get me to randomly watch big channels I have no interest in and started recommending things similarly to a year ago for me. I guess I'm probably a big outlier though
@@slovakthrowback3738 You can try to counter that by choosing not interested on each of those with the reason of already having seen it. I had that issue really bad a while back to the point where almost every video was something I'd seen before. It took some time but if you keep doing it to all of them eventually your recommendations will take the hint. This also works with recommendations that you just don't care about as well by choosing the appropriate reason. I should probably do it again myself to shake up the content I'm getting.

There's a cruel irony in financial institutions thinking you get shady gambling promotion money when you've refused countless opportunity's to make absolute bank doing that. For the record i really appreciate your integrity. -This- last year i also got ill really often i think i contracted at least six respiratory diseases in the last 4 months alone although they were all minor mostly just coughing and generally suckyness although in the past ive had a few colds which seemed to dampen my hearing which is awful.
I have also noticed this trend. I had 5 cold the latter half of 2022. If I had to give an uneducade guess to why this is happening, it might be because of the isolation we did during covid weakened my immune system

Your personality is the main reason i watch your content. I don't even like csgo, but i've watched a lot of your 3kliksphilip videos just because youre very good at making them interesting and funny. I would say you have built up quite a loyal audience, people who will always watch regardless of the content, but theres still a large portion of people who are watching for the content of the video, and thats where the fluctuations are

I must say, the Klik Empire feels like a special place on youtube. You are one of the last active RUclipsrs who is not in a niche (with 2kliksphilip at least) but, well, broadcasting yourself. I also love that you use your own music for background, as that is something I always wanted to do for mine. I just love things that you truly made yourself from start to finish.

I've been following the kliksphilip channels for about 3 or 4 years now, and 2kliksphilip in particular I never miss an upload for. Many of the videos mentioned from that channel as underperforming relative to the time invested in making them are some of my favorite RUclips content this year. I get that's not much consolation, but I doubt I'm the only one that feels that way. The variety of subjects are always fun to watch because his passion for them is clear to see. It may not be the type of content that builds a massive audience right away, but it's sure to build a loyal one.

Every year since covid times I watched your yearly analysis videos. I come to notice that it is somewhat a review or critic of my past years as well. As a person in their early twenties, every year feels like I am placing a brick and abandoning it next year (instead of actually building a house). The "void" you mentioned excites me too but but fear grasps me of not able to finish it or crashing down the project and burning out for the next 6 months. But I thank you to making these videos as it helps me to responsible for some thing.

As with a lot of content on this channel, I feel like its true value is for those that are the most dedicated to the slice of life style Philip content, as well as those who are rather introspective. Every single one of these videos that encapsulates the passage of time and the progress of endeavors is always a valuable capstone of the era that it covers, and as I have said probably a dozen times now on over a dozen different videos, getting this little rebalancing / peek into your productivity and interests is truly special to me and many others. I have long since outgrown my desire to consume csgo related content, but I still consume every bit that comes out of this channel and most of what comes out of the second Philip channel. Long story short, I appreciate very much both what you do and how you do it, and especially how you record it all for posterity. I love every one of these videos, and I was pretty much looking forward to this one for the entire year since the last one came out. On the other hand, I looked at your channels' analytics on socialblade a few weeks ago, and I can't say I was surprised by what you said about them in this video.
From the perspective of someone who just uses youtube to watch videos (and not shorts) I've found that it's very rare that I get recommended a video older than 3 years unless I have specifically searched for and watched a related video of an equal age. So it might just be that video age is now considered more of a relevancy factor than it used to be. Also, I've noticed that recently I've been recommended way more videos from people who have barely any views or subscribers when their content is relevant to me, but usually the video will only be a few days old at the maximum. But this is anecdotal evidence from one person, I have no clue if this is what its like across the board now. But there definitely has been a noticeable shift in the types of videos recommended to me now.
The year doesn't feel like it's truly started until the Klik Empire Analysis video drops. Been watching since the source tutorials, and will continue to do so! Your videos have such an authentic, creative and genuine nature to them that in turn has always motivated me in my own work. Happy New Year Philip, hope it's a great one!

I’ve actually barely been watching 3kliksphilip videos because I’ve stopped regularly playing csgo years ago, but of all 3 channels this one has got to be my favorite. I’ve actually been waiting for this video since the start of 2023 and am glad to hear that things aren’t as bad as they were in 2022. Keep up the good work, and know that as long as you make videos, and as long as I’ve got errands/chores to do, I’ll still be watching them

We all came for whacky counterstrike information and i have stayed for all the amazing stuff you have put out and investigate on any of your channels. Keep going, but only as much as you want to. Chiming in on the views analysis, an anecdotal observation. I recall that some 2 years ago or so, for a while RUclips tended to frequently recommend many years old videos that some could call "deep cuts". I especially remember your Dangers of Quicksand video popping up in my recommendations for more than a month.
when you said that youtube might be hiding older videos, that just clicked something inside me as youtube sort of recently removed the ability to sort by oldest on a channel which i used occasionally to view the first video of a channel or whatever else, i wonder why youtube has decided to just become worse in recent times with the whole policy change drama that has happened recently. also great video as always
Nice, this the highlight video of January for me. I wait for it every year. I 100% agree that shorts views don't feel like real views. I think it's partially the fact that people don't really choose to watch them, the algorithm just chooses to show them. I also only make shorts out of regular videos because with the doubly random feel of it I think it's just not worth the time to make specific content for it.

It's amazing to see you come this far, I remember some years ago, after staring in some going low videos , we discussed the viability of an Internet career vs. a normal job (teaching one I think?) and I was airing in the side of caution and suggested you tried to go for a normal job... I'm so glad you didn't take my advice! The way things turned out are so much better than the alternative. I've lurked around for years and not said much, but let me thank you for actually hanging out with me years ago, it was a huge help in some difficult times. I've always like all the content from the klik empire, they have a very relatable personality to them, you seem to tackle all the questions I have about certain topics in the way they show up in my head.
Hope 2023 treats you well. It was mostly on the bad side for me, but your videos have always been momentary uplifting highlights. Whether it's a dive into new advances in AI and graphics or gaming videos about things that I never thought I would be interested in. Your video about creating and saving memories was also inspirational. There's a few small channels I've subscribed to last year that had their videos pop up in my recommended list RUclips is changing a bunch, but it's always cool to see new people popping up
Just wanted to pop in Philip and say I appreciate you laying out things as you did, it somewhat relieves my lethargy to hear your thoughts on things and how you perceive your trials and successes. That dichotomy between your highs and lows especially; I had the worst year of my life in terms of permanent health problems, and in a way, listening to your telling of your own makes the pain easier, somehow. Here's hoping the years as they come might weigh less heavily on all of us.

Every year since covid times I watched your yearly analysis videos. I come to notice that it is somewhat a review or critic of my past years as well. As a person in their early twenties, every year feels like I am placing a brick and abandoning it next year (instead of actually building a house). The "void" you mentioned excites me too but but fear grasps me of not able to finish it or crashing down the project and burning out for the next 6 months. But I thank you to making these videos as it helps me to responsible for some thing.

As with a lot of content on this channel, I feel like its true value is for those that are the most dedicated to the slice of life style Philip content, as well as those who are rather introspective. Every single one of these videos that encapsulates the passage of time and the progress of endeavors is always a valuable capstone of the era that it covers, and as I have said probably a dozen times now on over a dozen different videos, getting this little rebalancing / peek into your productivity and interests is truly special to me and many others. I have long since outgrown my desire to consume csgo related content, but I still consume every bit that comes out of this channel and most of what comes out of the second Philip channel. Long story short, I appreciate very much both what you do and how you do it, and especially how you record it all for posterity. Wishing you a safe and productive 2023, let's all make this the best year yet, a true light compared to the darkness of the pandemic!
I love every one of these videos, and I was pretty much looking forward to this one for the entire year since the last one came out. On the other hand, I looked at your channels' analytics on socialblade a few weeks ago, and I can't say I was surprised by what you said about them in this video.
From the perspective of someone who just uses youtube to watch videos (and not shorts) I've found that it's very rare that I get recommended a video older than 3 years unless I have specifically searched for and watched a related video of an equal age. So it might just be that video age is now considered more of a relevancy factor than it used to be. Also, I've noticed that recently I've been recommended way more videos from people who have barely any views or subscribers when their content is relevant to me, but usually the video will only be a few days old at the maximum. But this is anecdotal evidence from one person, I have no clue if this is what its like across the board now. But there definitely has been a noticeable shift in the types of videos recommended to me now.

I’ve actually barely been watching 3kliksphilip videos because I’ve stopped regularly playing csgo years ago, but of all 3 channels this one has got to be my favorite. I’ve actually been waiting for this video since the start of 2023 and am glad to hear that things aren’t as bad as they were in 2022. Keep up the good work, and know that as long as you make videos, and as long as I’ve got errands/chores to do, I’ll still be watching them
I absolutely love these sorts of videos diving into what's really going on and how you're doing! We all came for whacky counterstrike information and i have stayed for all the amazing stuff you have put out and investigate on any of your channels. Keep going, but only as much as you want to. We'd rather see only one upload a year but you were just enjoying life :)

Love these videos on self reflect on the past year. My birthday falls on July, so i get to do that at the end of the year and on halfway through the year.
i dont comment that much anymore but i just wanted to say that i love watching all your different stuff. doesn't matter what it is, it'll always be interesting to hear what you have have to say about it - your perspective, or learn about something new and different. i have a lot of favourite videos from your channels and there's a lot of nostagia i have associated now with the music which adds another layer of special uniqueness.

Chiming in on the views analysis, an anecdotal observation. I recall that some 2 years ago or so, for a while RUclips tended to frequently recommend many years old videos that some could call "deep cuts". I especially remember your Dangers of Quicksand video popping up in my recommendations for more than a month.
when you said that youtube might be hiding older videos, that just clicked something inside me as youtube sort of recently removed the ability to sort by oldest on a channel which i used occasionally to view the first video of a channel or whatever else, i wonder why youtube has decided to just become worse in recent times with the whole policy change drama that has happened recently.

Nice, this the highlight video of January for me. I wait for it every year. I 100% agree that shorts views don't feel like real views. I think it's partially the fact that people don't really choose to watch them, the algorithm just chooses to show them. I also only make shorts out of regular videos because with the doubly random feel of it I think it's just not worth the time to make specific content for it.
Hey kliksphilip, it's allways been a mystery to me as to why so many people aparently dislike you. You make content you feel passionate about, and i have nothing but respect for that. After watching you're channels for at least half a decade, i'm thankful for everything you've made!

I've always like all the content from the klik empire, they have a very relatable personality to them, you seem to tackle all the questions I have about certain topics in the way they show up in my head.
Hope 2023 treats you well. It was mostly on the bad side for me, but your videos have always been momentary uplifting highlights. Whether it's a dive into new advances in AI and graphics or gaming videos about things that I never thought I would be interested in. Your video about creating and saving memories was also inspirational. It pushed me to take more opportunities to try things out, record highlights, and hand out with friends more often while I still have such a luxury. So, thank you, and I wish you the best!

Just wanted to pop in Philip and say I appreciate you laying out things as you did, it somewhat relieves my lethargy to hear your thoughts on things and how you perceive your trials and successes. That dichotomy between your highs and lows especially; I had the worst year of my life in terms of permanent health problems, and in a way, listening to your telling of your own makes the pain easier, somehow. Here's hoping the years as they come might weigh less heavily on all of us.
