Gayton McKenzie, Hersov’s ’Prez”, explains PA’s switch: ‘DA had to be taught a lesson’ ahead of 2024

  • In this no-holds-barred interview Patriotic Alliance leader Gayton McKenzie opens a window into what South Africans can expect from coalition rule after the 2024 National Election. At the very least, it promises to be exciting. The PA’s co-founder says his ‘kingmaking’ moves that reinstated power for the ANC in Johannesburg and Knysna, are deliberate lessons for erstwhile allies - especially the Democratic Alliance whose leader he again meets with tomorrow. Arguing the end justifies his means, McKenzie maintains if allowed to continue, current bickering between anti-ANC parties threatens to snatch defeat from the jaws of 2024’s probable victory. He maintains the PA’s switching sides will prove the point that coalitions must be run as true partnerships - and is confirmation he will always follow through on what he promises. In this interview with Alec Hogg of BizNews, McKenzie also explains the reasons why the PA rejected formal offers of funding from ‘my friend’ Rob Hersov and like-minded tycoons. At BNC#4, in Hersov’s suggested post-2024 cabinet he proposed McKenzie as SA’s President.

After losing in the election they have another 5 years to work on the electorates, instead they go to sleep and forget about, only to wake up in the next election and expect to be voted.

Also, I hope folks realize this is a long term journey and politics never improve overnight. What he is doing makes a bit of sense…. Give the ANC more rope to hang themselves then the vote will swing to the point where they have absolutely no power in the future. Probably wont happen in my lifetime, but my role as a South African is to still make that happen knowing I might not benefit from the change. Gayton appears to have a sincerity that is absent in South African politics. All power to him. He appears to have a drive - something necessary if he is ever going to take on high political office and attempt to resolve the huge issues the country faces like Escom.
The problem that I have is putting the ANC back in power - in Joburg I think. The counter to that is that it pushed the DA out. The DA is not good for South Africa and are a part of the problem - something Gayton referred to with their being arrogant. They lost around 400000 votes in 2019 and while this may be the same for other parties as well due to a lower voter turn out, it should be a warning to them. The DA will never win a national election, they could be part of a coalition with the ANC or ANC/EFF and either of these three will equally be another disaster for South Africa.
It is disappointing that Gayton does not support secession of the West Cape. It seems to me that this option is featuring more and more in debate and will become more so given the fear that is being put into communities by events such as the riots some year or so back and the ineptness of the ANC regime.

THE SOLUTION - DO YOU WANT TO LIVE IN A BETTER SA WITHIN MONTHS?
The ANC doesn't fulfill its constitutional obligations.
The ANC is far worse than just a "poor" government, it CHOOSES to break down and to destroy. That is why this action is warranted and needed.
Most importantly the ANC incites hatred/violence against us when they say that we stole their land - I checked, we didn't.
It is not reasonable to expect law abiding tax payers to continue with "the winner takes all principle" of a democracy to their own and the country's demise.
Who says we HAVE to be part of this political dispensation? Nobody questions this. It is time to stop, think and QUESTION this.
Nothing and nobody have the right to force us to be part of this self destructive political dispensation.
Approach the courts - convince them that it would be in the best interest of the country as a whole if we control our own taxes (first goal). Justify our rejection of the current political dispensation (main goal).
(Our money under our control).
Of eerder waarop is n minderheidsgroep in ons omstandighede GEREGTIG?
Dit gaan oor waardes, breek jy af of bou jy.

One of many persons yet again outing the DA as being ANC lite. If you still believe the DA is in for change they have you fooled. They had decades to invoke change, real change not just superficial fixes and fail to deliver. The water levy in CT case in point, the drought is gone but the levy remains regardless.

The FF understood that the future of SA will be coalition politics long before the DA. Under Tony Leon and Helen Zille, the DA desperately tried to establish a West Minster two party system in South Africa by ruthlessly lying to the public about how the electoral system works, and for 20 years it worked. But you cant keep the truth down forever, and its now coming back to bite them.
