Leroy Lang In my view the only duffers they ever came up with were Frosty the Snowman and Winter Wonderland. Than again I am a massive Grinch for Xmas. Bah humbug! :)
Adam Morris - said like a champ!!! So, so, spot on. Prefer Bose to the over- hyped “Beats” by Dre! What a bloody joke. Beats headphones are no better than Sony, but idiots will make the worthless musical artist richer and richer, well, because they are idiots. Reminds me of Nike and Michael Jordan. Hey world....get a Fng clue!!
Lyrics: Brush by gracefully A love as big as a risk Fills you up And you can't look on The breath of god in my mouth A love you can taste God get some paste He and I, breath to breath Clothed in saliva Healing thru your arm I cant stop hungering for otherness. I forgot the use My head fall out the sky And crashed into my palms Jesus God valentine Love On the tip of it The old rivers lack of other sweet scents So sweet You are a woman just as you are a man Creeping on the Gas Is a magic love, like, Like a Flights, clouded peak I was choking on the blood Whose camouflages, lack of soul Whose misty fire, muses soul Kneeling by the harm Which is promising the way His poor essence, under the truth love and heart polish itself I slid my heels but slowly ran So send Lucifer into hell
I know their songs weren't meant to be interpreted, but the English is so clear in this song more than their other masterpieces. The line "you are a woman just as you are a man" can be heard clearly and it really brings out the raw emotion of the song as well as the other interpreted lines. This song to me represents the deep emotion down inside all of us, a longing for that one person to love.
Lush, This Mortal Coil, My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Fashionista, Siga Ros, Harold Budd, Medicine, Chapterhouse etc go music diving it's a blast!!! Do your research then share with what's left of humanity...
I remember many, many nights in a dark blue room in Copenhagen, stars on the ceiling, teatre costumes by my bed and this music... Thank you life✨💜✨ Thank you Cocteau Twins✨💜✨
Go from this to Blood Bitch and see how much the band changed over time, while still keeping such a beautiful, dreamlike atmosphere throughout the entirety of their discography.
probably unpopular of me but in the 80s I loved all their work. By 2000 I could only list to the 90s stuff and the best of 80s, earlier stuff just sounds too primitive I love this track but my fave track is surely Summerhead.
Saw the last of the tour in 1996 in San Francisco at the Warfield. Loved them since they debuted! Always have them in my heart and mind! The top voice of our era!
I have loved their music for so long I cannot imagine life without Simon's bass, Robin's layered guitars and Liz's heavenly voice. Bravo & brava musica trio celeste!

I can't believe I just discovered this music from watching Brightman in concert! It's in a class by itself. How do you classify such unique sounds??? Brilliant!!!
And every time I hear this, I think: even Robin and Simon must have been awe-struck when they recorded it, to be in her presence and hear her deliver that. Liz is a treasure for humanity.
takes me back in time ,to really precious moments in my life.there is not much that i can add but for lizz`s angelic voice ,that would be my final wish to pass away too, thanx mate
Losing my beloved companion right now. She is an old kitty, and we are saying our goodbyes. It is so hard, but listening to this ethereal voice lifts me and gives me strength.
Anybody else notice the optical illusion on the cover of the album? The main image is that of a woman, we see her head, torso and leg. But if you turn the image 90 degrees counter-clockwise, you'll see a closed eyelid, below the nostrils and down again the lips.
barokowy , piękny utwór ... głęboki , podniosły ... już sam wstęp jest tajemniczy - i taki refren - i ta wyjątkowa i muzyka i głos i słowa tego tekstu - zwrotki oddają słodycz uczucia -niebiańskość. A refreny - jej wielkość i jej ryzyko... I tak nagle się urywa...
some parts of this song are the saddest and most beautiful vocals ever - there are some songs that i feel like i have heard before and this is one of them
Wonderful array of imagery - all those mask-like faces, the keyboard scenes, that long stairway, and the images of LIz and the Band, especially those in very soft focus then hard-pixilated then whatever, in black and white, and of course, you? repeatedly opening the cupboard. Oh, I've often Sought, but never found, a Lover hidden in my cabinets (but there was one "in the closet"), but the cabinet scenes do remind me of looking for where I left the damn bottle of aspirin!
There is a live version of this (NOT the super clean video, audio live version…the one you have to see and hear the audio is good but the video is pretty garbled, low res, dark blue, purple lit) that may be the most moving live performance of a vocalist ever captured. This song is a three parter. The moody intro and bridge Em, CM F, the verses, almost a fifties standard pop progression of CM, Am, GM, FM, and then, that chorus…Gm, EbM, Cm, Dm…how did that happen? In the live version I speak of here, when the song makes the incredible dramatic change to the chorus, her eyes literally roll up into her head like she is having a religious epiphany. It is fucking unbelievable. It hits the tear duct eruption switch as surely as a doctor’s rubber mallet makes your knee reflexes twitch. As much as I love the whole operatic counter line in the studio version chorus, it isn’t in the concert and for me, the song is even better for it. It makes up for two shows of theirs I saw here in Vancouver when her voice had zero headroom in the mix, forcing her to sing in ways she is simply not meant to.
The last song, on the last album of one of the greatest bands ever.
Que manera de despedirse! Una obra maestra.
This exactly
A MASTERPICE ❤
❤❤❤
I pretty much cried my eyes out witnessing the Cocteau Twins play this live.
+Geoffrey Laxton So did I brother, a truly awesome experience.
Lucky... they broke up before I ever had a chance to see them play live.
+Mat Lilly me too, wish I'd had the chance.
On a good night they were a force of nature but they did have their troubles now and then.
you are possibly one of the luckiest people alive
Last album. Last song. And one of their very best songs.
+Leroy Lang I don't like Milk and Kisses as a whole, but this song is a great final hurrah for the band :)
+Conor There are some duff tracks on the album right enough but this is a hell of a way to finish it off.
I actually think Milk and Kisses is a really really solid album overall with no duds, but yeah, this one is a level higher than the rest
What a way to bow out. Brilliant to the very end.
Leroy Lang In my view the only duffers they ever came up with were Frosty the Snowman and Winter Wonderland. Than again I am a massive Grinch for Xmas. Bah humbug! :)
The most fitting farewell to this otherworldly band
Yes, definitely. Full stop.
1. good stereo or headphones.
2. substance of choice or not.
3. hit the chorus and turn the dial UP.
4. enjoy immensely.

oy this is my daily routine ....cheers!
did that a lot while crazily in love some 15 years ago. oh, I've heard things you people wouldn't believe...

Every night I still pray to the cosmos that Cocteaus grace us just once more. I miss them.
+Phil Jarvis We all do...those of us who love music of a higher order like this. This music has an exalted place in my soul.
Chris Catalano music of a higher order? in your opinion, what are some others?
Diego Ulloa Hi Diego! This is a long conversation...I will consider, I have a few in mind! Will think over the holidays!

sublime, esto es tan profundo...
those back vocals make me wanna cry so much, not so much out of sadness? or maybe.. not sure I feel joyful or mournful.. holy heck man
It is pure heaven and sadness, all in one. Many thanks to Ashen Ringlets who put it in a nutshell (comment to 'Aikea-Guinea').
Happy/sad or meloncholy. A hallmark of sone of my favourite bands and artists. Love it!
i can listen this song 100 times in a row, just sitting hours with closed eyes and going in dreams
Elizabeth Frazer is an angel.
Bolesław Birkut She is the singing human bird
Yes..
Wrong. Elizabeth Fraser is an entire chorus of angels.
.. &, an *ORACLE* !
All started with a singer watching a lone girl dancing to his songs, named Elizabeth Frazer. Life is incredible
I cry my eyes out to this song. EVERYTIME!
I remember many, many nights in a dark blue room in Copenhagen, stars on the ceiling, teatre costumes by my bed and this music...
Thank you life✨💜✨
Thank you Cocteau Twins✨💜✨
This and I wear your ring are their best songs. Greatly missed band.
What a Swan Song. Jesus. Just some other level entirely.
Go from this to Blood Bitch and see how much the band changed over time, while still keeping such a beautiful, dreamlike atmosphere throughout the entirety of their discography.

I just cannot describe how I feel when I listen to Fraser's singing.
And yet you did it. 😍🥰
What a swansong! Just magnificent.
Things don't usually get more gorgeous than this.
Never, ever heard a song of this band before and I just have one word to say: amazing!

Sublime. Mystical. Pure and simple.
Last album, last music! The perfect end!...
the best song of Cocteau Twins ever in my opinion... I've listened by all night lately... great
Treasure Hiding. Then this. Perfect end to my perfect band. The last 20 years of other’s music really don’t matter that much.
This song changed my life!
OMG is Heaven to my ears.
Saw the last of the tour in 1996 in San Francisco at the Warfield. Loved them since they debuted! Always have them in my heart and mind! The top voice of our era!
saw them too on that tour, back to back nights at the Warfield...first night in the balcony second night in the front row...amazing
the transition from the verse to the chorus is orgasmic.. top songwriters
Such a beautiful leap.
This song is the epitome of perfection!
Stunningly-gorgeous.

Her vocal in this song is just amazing.

CT is really one-of-a-kind!... One of the most beautiful sounding groups I have ever heard.
Let's fight gracefully.....When love as big as a risk fills you up and you don't look down....
The background vocals are what I live for, Elizabeth sounds so beautiful.
And every time I hear this, I think: even Robin and Simon must have been awe-struck when they recorded it, to be in her presence and hear her deliver that. Liz is a treasure for humanity.
beautiful song
This wonderful Swan Song will haunt me until the very end ... timeless, simply wonderful 😍🙏

Saw them at Nottingham's Rock City in February 1994. Back when they used a tape machine for the drums. Was up in the high balcony.. Pure Bliss
