John Deacon was their secret weapon. John wrote amazing songs and bass lines and is sadly overlooked so often, which was actually the way he liked it, never wanted the spotlight. (edit, sp)
john was amazing he shud get more credit guy wrote some amazing rifts and music
He was the one who wrote the melody, lyrics aren't completely his
The filming crew told the audience to stay seated and be still at this 2 day concert. Pissed Freddie off so he wore two separate sets of clothing each day. Also told the audience they could move around and strip off their clothes if they wanted to.
The reason he wore different clothing is because the film crew wanted to splice the 2 day Montreal concerts together to make it look like it was only 1 concert. Freddie got pissed about it and intentionally dressed completely different on the 2nd day so that it couldn't be spliced together.
The crazy thing about Freddie and the rest od the band, they rarely told you what their lyrics meant. When asked, many times Freddie would reply with " What did they mean to you?" They wrote songs, leaving the meaning open speculation, because they wanted you to feel your own emotion instead of theirs, therefore making it not only their song...but yours as well. Oh a fun tid bit...Brian and Roger hated those shorts, reason Freddie loved wearing those tighty whiteys 😂😂😂
Yes - I recall that the most questions were asked about the meaning of the lyrics to Bo-Rap -- and Freddie's standard reply was - "it means what you think it means"... :)
John deacon wrote the song.thats why it has a killer bass line
That concert in Montreal was a 2 night event. The band (especially Freddie) was aggravated with the company/crew that was there to film them. Knowing that they were going to take footage from both nights and put it together, Freddie wore the shorts to screw up their continuity.. on the other night he wore white pants... There are videos of this concert where Brian and Roger watch and comment together for each song and they told that story....
Love that story and love the short shorts! 😁
@@debramoore7513 😊 You know I always post that story... 🤣. I think it's hilarious!
Awesome reaction! The song is actually about gangsters, more specifically about the St. Valentines Day massacre. This funky number was written by bass player John Deacon. This song is known for having one of the most recognizable basslines. Michael Jackson loved the song, he was actually the one who encouraged Queen to release the song as a single. You might want to listen to the studio version as well, because there is a lot of improvisation in this live performance. Another One Bites The Dust was a massive hit in America in 1980. It was first picked up by R&B stations in New York, but it became so big, it even charted on the country charts. Michael Jackson was a big Queen fan he drew a lot of inspiration from Another One Bites The Dust, so you can hear a bit of Another One Bites The Dust in Billy Jean. (These types of songs are the early beginnings or roots of hip hop). In 1982 Queen released a whole album with funky music, it was mostly R&B, funk and Motown. Michael Jackson said this album inspired him to do Thriller. But Queen's rock fans hated the album.
Queen did loads of different genres of music, they could play almost anything and Freddie Mercury can sing in every style of music in a convincing way. Freddie basically just did whatever he wanted to do, if he wanted to perform barefoot he would do it.
For something very different check out the White Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 ruclips.net/video/f8usNj4x9NA/видео.html.
YESSSS... White Queen is obviously one of my favorite live numbers, so gorgeous.
Great comment
@@debramoore7513 🙏 Thanks
Thank You 👍 I was going to give the same info about This Song...👏👏👏😎🤘
Not at all, the song is about a breakup
(a member of Freddie's team said those words when talking about his breakup with his girlfriend and Freddie laughed and decided to put them in the song).
The drummer is more cute than Paul Mccartnery lol😅.. and his voice is like Rod Stewart's 🤗
Yes he is pretty cute
🤷🏿♀️ #Facts 😍🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny
Agree!
his name is roger taylor
When asked by a reporter what instrument he played, Freddie smirked and answered, "I play the Audience." So true!
Lets gooooooo! Stone Cold crazy live at the rainbow 1974. Straight banger
I’ll be here all week!
Yasssssss queeeeennnnn... I'll be waiting patiently I'm in Ultimate Queen fan so you got me hooked LOL
Appreciate you for watching. I'm definitely excited for this week.
I’m here for the daily Queen vids! 👏💪
John Deacon on Bass wrote the song
Freddie always starts out dressed, including jacket. As he gets very hot he begins losing clothes. First the jacket, then the shirt. He also changes outfits at times. As someone pointed out, Queen was not hapoy with the Film Director. He told the audience to stay seated and be quiet. He also told the band to wear the same clothes for both nights, and Freddie to do the same moves. So of course Freddie had to work much harder to get the audience participation. The short shorts were the fashion in the 80’s, everyone wore them. 😊
will be back for the daily Queen
dont miss it lol
If you don't know the story behind his microphone, in one of his earliest shows with the group, the mic rod came loose from the stand. But instead of freaking out, Freddie just rolled with it, so that ended up becoming iconic for him because the second that happened, he was able to walk around the stage, get closer to the people in the crowd.
It happened when he performed with Ibex not Queen
Ohhhh Queen! I love them so much...🎵Another one bites the dust 🎵
Song starts with gangster scene with machine ready to fire. Rest of song shows this by it's in relationships. Being in a relationship is like being in a gangster trap its kill or be killed. The singer is talking to his ex and saying she has treated him badly so another one bites the dust. Written by John Deacon the bass player.
Fully clothed or...Not. Freddie commanded that stage and left it all behind! 🎤🤘
Nice reaction! One of the reasons he was dressed like that was because he was angry at the director who told them to wear the same clothes as the concert the night before, since they were being filmed both nights to make a single documentary film.
React to: BOHEMIAN RAPSODY and SOMEBODY TO LOVE, same concert in Montreal; DON'T STOP ME,; NOW I'M HERE and IT'S A KIND OF MAGIC - all live at Wembley. There are 100as fantastic songs. All members wrote #1 hits. Michael Jackson was a fan and was very much influenced by Freddie. All members are college educated. For example Dr. Brian May has a doctorate in astrophysics and built his own guitar with his dad when he was 16 - the red special which still plays today. Freddie's real name is Faruokh Bulsra and is Pharsee, born on the island of Zanzibar and schooled in India, He is considered the greatest vocalist and front man in rcck history. One week is a good start but not enough time to great through even their greatest hits. Your last reaction should be Queen at Live Aid. It was a concert to raise money for the famine in Africa in 1985. There were many big names of the day, but Queen's 6 song se, stole the show and it is considered the greatest performance in all rock history and many reactors have watched it. Also watch at the end of your Queen journey: These are the days of our lives, a video made to say goodbye to his fans. He soon died after this video.
I’m about to be 54 so I remember this song like it was yesterday. I loved it then and still love it dude.
There's a great documentary on Queen called DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Yes please please please check it out!
Dude, Queen is the bomb. Explore their catalog. U will be blown away with their diverse talent. The live performances of Golden Boy, Save Me, somebody to love (Montreal), White queen etc are awesome. I vote for Queen month🙋🏽♀️✌🏾
Anything they do live is so much better than their official videos.
Freddie being Freddie...just wonderfull!!!!💞
This is an iconic song written by John Deacon. It is one of the Queen anthems that go on and on forever. Freddie really acts out at this show on this song so it is so much fun to watch. Another one bites the dust generally means that someone dies or is now knocked down a peg or two. I have never heard what John meant but that was the general meaning of the term.. If your team aced it over some other team, the other team, bites the dust. Roger was way cuter than Paul and had the cutest flirty grin and twinkle in his eyes. Roger seemed to live to have fun and man what a drummer he is. Freddie once said that Roger tuning his drums sounded better than most people playing their drums.
Live performances are great..
A week isn’t enough for Queen! 🔥🎶🔥
I hope your Queen reactions continue after this week. They have so much great music. A week isn't enough time. Try "A Kind of Magic" live. Way better than the studio version. Also any version of One Vision.
Biting the dust is a very old cliche for dying. Maybe specifically getting killed. May have originated in America in the cowboy, gunslingers, Wild West. Shoot outs where the losers literally fell dead and bit the dust.
John Deacon did say in an interview that his original thought was the cowboy concept, though he did not push that forward and clearly different in the end, except the title.👍
Freddie is Genius
Oh, last reaction should definitely be Live Aid. I saw someone throw that idea out, I love it!
yay. Queen week!!!!!!!!!
Awesome. reaction to a classic band. POSSIBLE REACTION TO QUEENS "WE WILL ROCK YOU"
Idk if I’m going to do that cause I’ve already heard it tbh
John Deacon has some of the best base lines in rock. This song was written by John about a western.
One Vision; Under Pressure; Who wants to Live Forever; Now I'm Here all live at Wembley 1986
Yesyes, Thankyou. Freddie was one of a kind. I love this Queen journey youngman. Their cataloque is huge. I suggest Dont stop me now or Fatbottemed girls. Much bless❤Keep up the good work.
Us: 🎫 Hi, I'm here for the Queen show!
Freddie: I'm here for a 🏖️ Beach Party, but I'll do a few songs for the crowd ...
One of the first things most people learn about Queen is that the lead singer, Freddie Mercury was gay. They then listen to every song through that filter and ascribe meaning to the lyrics based on that perception.
This song was not written by Freddie Mercury, but by the bass player, John Deacon. This was most obvious when they released the video for another of John's hits "I want to Break Free" when the video was banned in the US by MTV.
Queen is the ONLY band in which every member of the band wrote chart topping songs.
Thanks! Love your reaction! but maybe Lil Wayne got the red bandana from Fred seeing as how this was a year before Wayne was born. Everything is connected. Looking forward to more from you!
That might be true 😂
The song was originally about cowboys. It was edited a bit. The bass player, John Deacon, wrote it. I also think Roger's backing vocals are worth a mention. Oh, and Brian May's home made guitar.
Don't stop me now...white queen... live aid...performances will show the diversity of Queen
John Deacon wrote this song after jamming with Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers from "Chic"
Am I right? You haven’t done bohemian rhapsody yet! Must do the official music video first then do a live version of it. You have to do both to appreciate the skills and guess what we will all be here to see your reaction to both
Yes! The Official version of Bohemian Rhapsody was groundbreaking when it came out. It inspired the origin of MTV.
I take that he’s saying he’s got you hooked… The music hits you like a bullet and to touch on a previous comment music is open to interpretation, it can mean many different things to different people
Appreciate your respect for older band. Great reaction! Side note drummer has a PhD in ASTRO physics.
Love you and your reaction. You are very good. Keep up the great work. You have a great sense of humor.
Freddy didn't care. He did his thing and he did it well.
Nothing like Freddie in short-shorts and barefoot, still rocking' out!
This was the 2nd night in Montreal. Freddie got upset with the guys filming the show for the DVD. He felt they were interfering between him & the audience. Freddie liked to play to & with the audience so he came out dressed like this the 2nd night so the people making the DVD couldn’t mix & match from the 2 nights.
Freddie was awesome.
John the bassist wrote this song, he was the quiet one in the band.
John Deacon on bass who wrote this song .🥰
Short shorts we all wore them back in the day.
To hear another side of his voice listen to, “Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballe singing Barcelona “, live at La Nit.
I don't know exactly what the song means, but I've caught myself humming it at a few weddings! Yup!😅
Roger Taylor, the drummer, was definitely the ladies mad of the group! He was a player!
Princes of the Universe is lit
Just noticed that Montréal Canadians Hat!!!😂😂😂
Freddie’s parents were just real sweeties and I believe they just accepted his sexual orientation. His mum was lovely.
Hi Broadband. Love your reactions to Queens songs. Try "Cool Cat" you're gonna love it. Great reactions✌💙❤🎶🎶
You forgot John Deacon, the bassist with the beginning bass line he wrote for the song...
Do fat bottomed girl live, dragon attack, breakthru and For a funny one official video Two I want to break free it's a spoof of a British soap opera and it's hysterical and drummer Rodger Taylor Idea it's super funny
freddie cud do or wear what he wanted. when he was on stage he had the crowd in the palm of his hand. he owned the whole stage and crowd
it's that "strut"! that really sells this - Freddie's outfit and moves was BIGtime gay signaling at a time when most fans knew he was gay but he had never actually come out, but he had recently left his lover of many years, Mary Austin. He was gettin loose with showing off who he felt he really was, at a time when being gay in britain was still scary.
John Deacon wrote this one the Bass player
1980 the game good album
Another one bites the dust….another one drops dead to the dirt….we sing it when our dog destroys a toy …lol
Kickin' bass - b/c written by bass player John Deacon-- so I wouldn't worry about what Freddie meant in the lyrics...I suspect he was making them up on the spot lol - (kidding, there ARE actual lyrics - don't know who wrote them - probably a band collaboration - although, seriously, Freddie did sometimes just wing it... )
This song caused some to believe they were a black group and were shocked they weren't. BTW Freddie loved Aretha Franklin.
See Zenobia’s comments .... it’s about the Valentines Massacre! Check out the lyrics! Talks about a machine gun & bullets ripping. “Shoot it Shoot it!! Btw, love Freddie’s short shorts!! YESSSS 💕 Hahaha! Freddie tends to strip clothes off as the concert goes on (2 hour concert) 😂 Time for FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS live in Milton Keynes 1982! Then do BICYCLE RACE the companion song!!
I feel like you would make a great sound engineer/producer, because I feel you have a great music ear.
Just saw you are doing a week of Queen, you could do a year of Queen and not experience everything
It's about a breakup of a relationship
Bare feet as well. hahaha
Drummer looks more like Rod Stewart
Made more personal connections with people in the audience.
Hate to tell you he came from a very loving and supportive family. And by the way L’l Wayne wasn’t even born yet. So, maybe he’s the copycat!
🤷🏿♀️ Sometimes you ain't wrong! 😂 Steely Dan be all about the " Cuervo Gold 🥃 & the 👃🏾 fine Columbian 😎 Make tonight a wonderful thing". Sometimes it's obvious. 🍿🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny
This is a bit relaxed reserved version. Other shows have bit more depth.
Do dragon attack
Rodger is better looking Paul. Rodger also has a killer voice.
Lil Wayne? Huh?
Why do these people just come on and posting "First Time Hearing Queen".......It's total Bullsh*t. We all know some of these people are faking. This is slowly becoming an underground trend with those thumbnails and nod reactions.
Please stop assuming that everything said or done by Freddie had to do with his sexuality or his illness. It simply does not and does not matter in any way, shape, or form; just enjoy his legendary, extraordinary talent. Most of Queen's songs people automatically assumed were written by Freddie were actually written by one of the other band members and nothing at all to do with anyone's sexual preference.
U gotta chill out in my comments. I already said that I didn’t know anything about him.
@@BroadbandJoseaMy apologies if you thought I was being hateful. You said you didn't know anything about him, so I was giving you information for future reactions. You seem to really enjoy Queen. I hope you continue your journey with them.
love your reaction but terrible recording you've watched :) as a Brit it was almost sacrilege !!!
It's a break up song
