    Coach Drew teaches simple ways to break down the 2nd line of defense, once you've beaten your main defender.
    Dealing with the second line of defense is an advanced scoring skill that only the best scorers in the world have fully mastered.
    As Kobe once said, "I know I can beat my man.
    The only thing I'm looking at is the help defense."

      Dylan Lin
      It is no travel because his left foot is his pivot when he steps across with his right foot. A player is allowed to lift his pivot as long as the ball is out of the player's hand before the pivot foot is returned to the floor.

    Landing 1 2 on the pro hop is not a travel. You picked up the dribble on the hop and you have 2 steps left. You can certainly hop and take two steps without it being a travel if you go up into your shot.

    Was 2:12 really a travel? Wouldn't that just be a 1 2 step as the ball was live until after the prohop, kind of like the last move at 4:00 where Coach took two steps after the gather? Also I noticed that his prohop looks more than just a hop, more like you step left right laterally and jump off of the right, is what he is doing a more advanced technique or am I just looking too much into it?

    I shoot with only 1 hand but my off hand fingers point toward the basket and I also thumb flick with my off hand, these increase my consistency and my FG percentage is around 80% so, should I change my shooting form because I feel very comfortable and when I try to change my elbow hurts a lot, and it is working well for me. Thanks, and today I was very inconsistent, and my mom told I was using too much of my upper body, so, at home I kept doing my shooting form until I realized, the more you bend your knees while shooting, the more backspin it takes to keep it in track( means so the ball goes right in the basket and does not go left or right ), and so only wrist of upper body and guide hand is required and other energy for shooting the ball should come from the legs. I am telling this so that you all can help other players like me grow to their BEST.

      That was a freak injury. That's like saying a baseball pitcher shouldn't pitch because someone he watches on tv had elbow surgery.

      My tip is when on-ball, keep your hands active all the time, if the enemy player is driving, keep your other hand up while the other hand is protecting your body and when off-ball, protect passin lanes and help defense at the right time

  • @iJonikz
    @iJonikz 7 лет назад +2

    A risk for injuries. Those moves are really hard on your knee especially the first one. Also if you land improper(on someone's foot), it is over. A simple spin move is enough. Driving to your right pound dribble spin move to the left, finish the left hand.

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  7 лет назад +5

      Just don't do these moves, John. It's cool. But some players play at high levels and these types of complex and dynamic moves are necessary.

    2:07 - i'm confused why someone would have to land on 2 feet simultaneously. don't you get to have 2 steps upon completion of a dribble? if you have to land simultaneously with 2 feet, then wouldn't Euro steps be impossible at all levels? also, if you land with 2 feet simultaneously, doesn't that mean you haven't established a pivot foot so you should even be able to do a pivot either way(dreamshake) after you land, right?

      It might not techincally but a ref will always call a travel on a 1-2 jumpstop

    • @ungree

      L_2the_iam B. I'll always try and respect the refs calls, as long as their foundation is consistent throughout the game. Just like some refs let us play physical and some refs call touch fouls; as long as it's consistent, I have no problem bc we know what kind of game they're running. So If they officiate Euro steps as illegal, I'll respect that. If they officiate euros as legal but 1-2 pro-hop finishes as illegal but have no technical justification, that's where I have a problem.

      michael david You could also ask a ref before the game or try it and see their call

    With the zero step you can land 1-2 on a pro hop without it being called a travel

      Kick it out to a shooter on the wing or dribble through and set up. You'll have to adjust.

      Aham Ihenacho that's what floaters are for, if u practice them a lot it becomes muscle memory and you get that soft touch so you can use them all the time. Just make sure it doesn't lead you to choosing a floater over an easier layup when that's possible
