Definitely keep the follow-ups coming! I would generally be more interested in seeing less well-known impossible starts outside of Europe, but that could just be me. Here are some suggestions: Sukhotai, Yas, Hisn Kayfa, and any OPMs bordering the Mamluks or a hostile Indian major power.
What an insane concept, makes the game take an insanely smart turn on how to play it, i would love to see Hisn Kayfa, as that nation is insanely dependent on allies and good rng, Very insane gameplay on this albania, wp
I'd love to see a continuation of this format, it's super cool. Other candidates I feel could be interesting to watch are countries like Epirus, the Arabian tribal nations or the Muscovite vassals. Lots of potential.
Good stuff, really enjoy seeing simple strategies employed so well. I didn't know you could get 40 warscore that quickly if your mil power is so drastically different!
makes a lot of sense tho. I remember the AI getting really good war scores from battles and then I would win a battle and get maybe 1 or 1.5 and be like tf? But of course I was the big blue blob or something while they were maybe austria.
As a newer player with only 300 hours, this type of video is great. Watching you explain your thought process in real time really helps a lot and is great for understanding some more in-depth concepts about the game
Love this video! It's a simple idea, but you need to use everything the game offers you, and if you do, then it comes down to nail-biting all-or-nothing battles. Great to watch! Also, I'm really not a noob. I've done World conquests, one-faiths, true heir, three mountains, and so on, but if you play I'm all ears because there is always something new to learn.
Great Vid Monk, you could also get the privilege from the clergy for moral against heathens, as well as the new one from the nobility that increases garrison size and fort defense.
I'll give you some: herzegovina, granada, bitlis, Hisn Kyfa, jorasan, Athens, Bourbonnais, Nevers, Janizah, Belozeero... I hope you enjoy playing them.
Great video as always...from one of the best eu4 player you are also becoming one of the best eu4 youtuber out there! I really hope that this format, which I enjoy so much, will give you the appreciation and following you deserve... I personally would like to see a start on Kale, since I'm trying "eat your greens" achievement and I struggle with keeping the economy afloat and the country stable being in constant war of conquest
I liked the lore accurate Skanderbeg gameplay, this could make a great series. Muscovy's vassals, a small Ming tributary, Naxos, or Navarra could be cool!
definitely want a part 2, ik you said on a recent stream that the view rates drop off, but I think that might be skewed bc I know personally that I tend to watch the first in a series multiple times, and the subsequent ones only once- the core audience definitely likes the continuations
Really enjoyed the video. Nice explanation and execution. Would like to see a part 2 with the balcan wars and mabye the second ottoman war to reconquest byzantium from them
Fun idea! It's always nice to see stuff from the smaller countries in this region besides Byzantium. For other ideas I would suggest Nevers, Navarra, Mzab, Mann.
After the crazy series of battles at the beginning, you could have moved your army into your owned provinces for faster reinforcement. Occupied provinces don’t reinforce any faster than enemy provinces except for the lack of attrition. Especially with the free company, the owned province reinforce speed is very crucial. Play as Prome and take on Ava
My man said "The first thing we're going to do *after* defeating the Ottomans is go for the Kosovo gold". I've only started the video but with a bold statement like that I have to watch the rest.
I would love to see a full game similar to hour of power for various nations so you can give your thoughts through a whole game. On a related note, one idea I think would be cool (and not been successfully done) is with Byzantium taken by the Ottomans, trying to restore the empire from Montferrat, who shares the same dynasty. But I see you don't tend to stick to particular dynasties when you play. Just a fun lore-idea.
This series will be glorious! On my Albania or Iberia achievement run i decided to exode into Italy by attacking Naples just after they broke free from Aragon PU. I planned to only take city of Napoli itself but managed to take all Genoa trade node provinces without causing coalition so run was easy since then. Also managed to get Trastámara on my throne and PU- annexed Iberia by 1550s
Hi, I've got an impossible run that might be different gameplay then expected with rules to it: Play the nation of Samtskhe, you are not allowed to take other national idears, no allies, and aim for max support rebel efficiency meaning taking economic, humanist and espionage idears. The goal of the campaign is to release a nation via support rebel cb from a great power nation.
If I were the arch duke and I found out the Albanian revolt had spiralled further out of the Automens hands i would be smiling too More impossible starts!
Would definitely like to see a continuation of this game, at least until the Ottomans are kicked out of Europe, and further challenges like this with really harsh starts!
I'm on the bus without headphones so i was watching the video with only captions. Yhe play where you went gull crotch mode and got the last Jason tournament event was quite crotch, as youtube captions put it
Theodoro on Very Hard without Exodus to East Frisia/HRE is simple. Just go into Caucasus through Imereti or Circassia, bully some of the weak powers there like Georgia, Gaz, Trebizond, AQ and slice through Ottos when they start attacking Venice, Poland, or Mamluks for any reason. Theodoro is easier than Candar tbh.
@@youtuberobbedmeofmyname AQ is always guaranteed by QQ in my games and allies Ottos half the time. I usually take out circ and imereti but georgia is dependent on if QQ doesnt take them out first. Beating out OTTOs could be possible but you’d most likely have to deal with QQ with its 40-50k soldiers guaranteeing AQ first.
Please let me know if you enjoy this format. Would you guys like a follow up? Feel free to suggest other nations. Join my discord channel for the save file which will be uploaded shortly. Thanks for watching.
Love the series, please continue
Definitely keep the follow-ups coming! I would generally be more interested in seeing less well-known impossible starts outside of Europe, but that could just be me. Here are some suggestions: Sukhotai, Yas, Hisn Kayfa, and any OPMs bordering the Mamluks or a hostile Indian major power.
That was fun!
i love it , just lower game music a little bit
Please keep the series going. I would love to see an Ardabil impossible start
What an insane concept, makes the game take an insanely smart turn on how to play it, i would love to see Hisn Kayfa, as that nation is insanely dependent on allies and good rng, Very insane gameplay on this albania, wp

Id love to see a muscovite vassal

Brother, even with 1000 hours this kind of play is magical
What makes this video for me is the drama of it. It's high tension, and the explanations you give color it well between calculation and emotion.
This is an awesome idea, I love to see actual gameplay on RUclips! Theodoro, Yaroslavl, and Karabakh would be my proposals for a follow-up
Love this video! It's a simple idea, but you need to use everything the game offers you, and if you do, then it comes down to nail-biting all-or-nothing battles. Great to watch!
Also, I'm really not a noob. I've done World conquests, one-faiths, true heir, three mountains, and so on, but if you play I'm all ears because there is always something new to learn.
i always love to see these seemingly impossible starts and you made that look easy
Ladies and gentlemen we are blessed to be witnessing the greatness of this game Mozart. U’ve never disappointed. God bless you Monk.
Beautiful idea, I'd enjoy watching the continuation of this run.
Awesome format, I would love to see part 2 of this campaign!
Great Vid Monk, you could also get the privilege from the clergy for moral against heathens, as well as the new one from the nobility that increases garrison size and fort defense.
Love this format Monk, especially your Hour of Power last year, that was amazing to watch.
I'll give you some: herzegovina, granada, bitlis, Hisn Kyfa, jorasan, Athens, Bourbonnais, Nevers, Janizah, Belozeero... I hope you enjoy playing them.
I also have perugia sr
Ragusa also
Brilliant man, loved the video. Definitely would like to see more.

that's why hes the goat, the GOAT
Monk: This video was a masterpiece. One of your best works imo. It serves as an excellent guide and is very captivating as a story!
I liked the lore accurate Skanderbeg gameplay, this could make a great series. Muscovy's vassals, a small Ming tributary, Naxos, or Navarra could be cool!
I really loved the format. I think a follow-up showing you stabilizing after would also be great. Maybe see one for a Third Way achievement opener?
Great idea for a series/format. I'd watch, I already am but I'll keep doing it.
definitely want a part 2, ik you said on a recent stream that the view rates drop off, but I think that might be skewed bc I know personally that I tend to watch the first in a series multiple times, and the subsequent ones only once- the core audience definitely likes the continuations
I wouldn't even mind you carrying on this game as well as other impossible starts, great video
Really enjoyed the video. Nice explanation and execution. Would like to see a part 2 with the balcan wars and mabye the second ottoman war to reconquest byzantium from them
Enjoying the delivery and the topic. Monk best when backed into a corner.
A part 2 would be greatly appreciated
The overall format is nice
Would love a part two, and my suggestion for an impossible start is Kandy or Theodoro.
I love your videos! Good format
Great work. I'd love to see more, yeah
Albania is the new Byzantiym.
As an Albanian I love this content! Skanderbeg is a legendary warrior ⚔️
Fun idea! It's always nice to see stuff from the smaller countries in this region besides Byzantium.
For other ideas I would suggest Nevers, Navarra, Mzab, Mann.
If only I could stay so disciplined with min-maxing through an entire campaign. I usually get complacent and lazy as it goes on.
That was beautiful. 14:47
This was incredible! Part two please! 😁
Really awesome, reminds me of your old byz videos!

This is a great format for you and us)
you should become a cooking channel, id love to see your take on chocolate ganache
need another ep dude, love it! :D
This series will be glorious!

Peak EU4 content! Pure gold! 👌
It is capped with quality, goood job monk!!!!!
Great video format! I would like to see a Granada and Trezbiond run next
Would love to see more of this!
the siege race is so stressful, as is walking around in the fog of war with a million stacks everywhere. nice one
Budgetmonk with the impossible plays! I love it
If I were the arch duke and I found out the Albanian revolt had spiralled further out of the Automens hands i would be smiling too
More impossible starts!
Would definitely like to see a continuation of this game, at least until the Ottomans are kicked out of Europe, and further challenges like this with really harsh starts!
i would want to see a part 2, to see how you would manage to win the following wars
Is more warscore from battles and a larger WS cap with a conquest CB a 1.35 thing? It's a welcome change, for sure
Would love a series like this!
That was fucking crazy dude, awesome vid!
Good idea ! Let's have some more of those !
Great campaign as always, even as a player with 2000 hours I learn new things
Might be nothing but out of my 2k hours in the game this has been the most impressive.
Awesome content !!! Plz more ! I will pay you money
Impossible starts sounds like a good series.
Want to see a continuation + more impossible starts
I'd love to see a part 2, and I am quite curious if one can stay ahead of the Ottomans as the game progresses.
Oh yeah. Fun. Impossible series :D
Please continue this series and more challenging starts
I would love to see part 2, very entertaining
Love to see more of these
I'm on the bus without headphones so i was watching the video with only captions. Yhe play where you went gull crotch mode and got the last Jason tournament event was quite crotch, as youtube captions put it
Why didn't you take any other estate privileges except the monarch points? The other ones don't cost any crown land and give some nifty bonusses
Yes please make more videos just like this
I thought about playing albania more than once, but lack of allies (poland/austria) at the start to stop ottomans always dissuaded me.
I think this is soemwhat heavy rng. Probably need multiple restarts to get things to fall your way.
I’d love to see how you’d play mzab’s start
Insane! Love it❤
Lore of Impossible Starts: Albania momentum 100
I think these videos show up in my feed way more
Very enjoyable watch!
Releasing Sapmi from Norway is also a great "impossible start"
how many times did you have to restart
BudgetMonk: Yes
i would be interested in seeing a part two of this albania
I really like this format
sick!
would like to see a follow up
Good video, can you show us what you would do after?
Could you sell some of your fleet at the beginning?
Dude we need a part 2!
The impossible start series is a great idea
I would very much like to see a follow up
Would love a part 2 brev
this is actually amazing
Really impressive! That was a little sloppy at the end there sending your weaker stack forward though
Definitely try Theodoro and Trebizond. I would say it's pretty damn difficult to play as Theodoro on very hard

More of that please Mr Monk
I remember doing Albania or Iberia achievement was a really fun run..
Hell yeah we want a part two
I'm a new player with 1689 hours and this taught me a lot.
Spectacular!
Just started my first ironman byz run today, beat ottomans handidly and paid off all loans but they have even more troops now lol wtf
