27:40 something similar actually happened to alexander the great when he conquered persia. As the persians captured many greek settlements around egypt and anatolia they had been deporting the captives to bactria in central asia. So when alexander showed up at the far end of the persian empire he found the people there could understand greek and many aspects of greek culture and religion were already being practiced. The macedonians thought they were at the end of the known world with their conquests and lo and behold its more greeks.
mikra krete is a translation as english greek mikri kriti which translates to small crete in english edit : also the word symmachoi is the greek word simaxoi which in english means allies
I guessed that from the similarity to "Micro-Crete." I suppose the intended meaning would be "Little Crete," since there are places in America called "Little [old world location]."
Would be absolutely awesome to see you play this mod more, especially other tags. Most youtubers just make a Elysia series, and you rarely get to see someone play Vinland or Spartania.
1:22 Funnily enough, you ABSOLUTELY want the Venetian Captains. Taking them with you lets you get a super powered version of the Venetian Arsenal. Similarly, taking the scrolls lets you get the New Library of Alexandria more easily, and bringing silk changes the trade good of your new capital to be a variation of Silk that can eventually become more valuable than normal silk. However, you never want to take Greek Fire, ever. The modifier only works if you have "Nepot Sources" which gives you some janky missions to colonize certain provinces or you lose the modifier. 1:44 Always lie to the Portuguese. The biggest enemy of this mod is, somewhat ironically, European Colonizers (besides Spartakon) and lying to them gives you about 10 more years of colonizing before they show up and get pissed. Generally, you want to have colonized the entire "Elysian" coast before they show up so they can't cuck you out of provinces. 4:52 You keep the flagship no matter what. Its better to use the excess stuff to aid in making a new colony or to increase dev in your capital. Money is really tight early game, especially if you piss off the natives and lose all your tribal dev. 8:16 You may come to regret that. You gonna need that money lmao.

One of my favorite mods. It is totally worth it to take all 4 options. Also, never take Skanderbeg. Orhan gets you a much better bonus early game and the "free" land is a hassle to deal with later. Make the deal with the Powhattan while forcing the other 2 into vassals. There is a third tribe to the south that can become a third vassal. This covers 2 of the forts you need w/o upkeep. Shoot north and take the federation before it forms to be able to block off Vinland growth asap. finally, race to the west to cut off Spartania growth as well. You'll want to be in massive debt AT LEAST until you unlock renaissance. Do not avoid the wars or you'll have a hell of a time converting the opposing religion later. Make sure you are developing your natural trade city spots. Make sure you have the spread option on to spawn renaissance asap. You'll have true nation ready well before 1490. Annex the Piscataway asap as well to get access to the map.

Hot tip, if you choose the option to send the Albanians to the frontier, they occasionally fully colonize a border province for you every few years. Then later you can integrate their culture and make it Greek or the equivalent. That way you keep all the land
Great vid! Would love to see you continue, maybe reconquer constantinople to get rid of some bad modifiers. Since you decided to abandon roman heritage, I think you can either focus on settling america or create your own colonial empire. Only ever played the green path, which among other things give you 6 (6!!!!!!) colonists and a pu on spartania
Honestly now that I've seen the "Trust Portugal" route (never went that way in my games) I have to admit the mod devs _really_ didn't balance it very well. If you don't tell them at the start then the only penalty when you return is that Portugal loses trust and opinion (or something like that), but that's it. Meanwhile, if you choose to trust them you have to deal with earlier colonization, pretty heavy restrictions if you want to avoid harsh competition (but even still you have to compete with them even with the treaty), minimum local autonomy in one of your major provinces (due to the enclave), etc. In exchange? You get a little money and trade bonus. As it stands, the mod fails to offer any good incentives for going the "Trust Portugal" route and aside from rp I can't see why anyone would go that route.
I like that you get colonial subjects, it does add to the immersion. No way a burdened rump state in north america would be able to directly rule colonial holdings across the continents, so it adds some degree of realism.
Whatchu mean it came out yesterday? Did they create a "final version"? Its been around for years now, they were going to add a Persian civilization in the Andes as well last time I checked the mod discussions.
