Two of the most important modifiers in the game for pure expansion and control are adm efficiency and adm/diplo monarch point generation. These are rarer/harder values to obtain in the game. This is the best government type no doubt.
I think I am doing 1000 IQ moves tag or culture switching a few times in my games and then I see OG Budgetmonk with the Spanish mission tree as the roman empire and norse primary culture xD Youre another level man respect PS: And all that while having started as gotland haha
I don't think naval tradition bonuses are needed, because each tier 3 port you make gives you heaps. So as long as you own several of them, you just stay at 100 navy tradition. But you need to be doing a trade game to get that.
On the topic of trade (4:12), this T1 government reform also allows you to instantly max your mercantilism, provided you have access to the "exclusive trade rights" privilege. Because it allows you to revoke privileges regardless of loyalty, you can pause the game, then enable/revoke this privilege as many times you'd like for an instant 3 mercantilism with each enable/revoke cycle. The only caveat here is that your burgher estate will be left at a temporary 0 loyalty when you're done. This same thing applies to the more generally available "Puppet the Nobility" reform. With regards to trade steering, I think much of your interpretation is incorrect. The extra 600 ducats you're seeing have nothing to do with trade steering, as the 1.8k leaving Lubeck already has the value increase included (open the Lubeck trade node, in either the mapmode or ledger and you'll see that about ~1680 ducats are "outgoing") . Besides, in order to reach a +30% multiplier with a single merchant you'd need more than 600% trade steering: Your shown trade steering should only give a 9.25% multiplier on transferred value. The difference in value between English Channel and Lubeck+Champagne is most likely a matter of 400-500 ducats from Chesapeke Bay and/or the Ivory Coast.
OPM starts are impressive, but they are helped by mission trees a lot, whether through tag flipping or just having crazy good mission trees like Gotland. It seems that another challenge you could use would be to start as an end-game tag with a weak mission tree. There are five choices in 1444 (France, Byzantium, Ottomans, Ethiopia, Papal State.) Basically, when was the last time you did a WC with the Papal State? That would be fun to see, especially stacking AE reduction so Italian minors don't coalition you. Considering it can't form the Roman Empire and doesn't even get new ideas when forming the Kingdom of God, it might even be the only true end-game tag in the game.
4:27 important note: The value you see leaving the trade node is already the increased one, you can hover it to see the 9,2% increase. You have a base 5% at all times +1% per 20 trade steering. 4:40 No way to tell why the node has an extra 600, maybe you forgot to redirect trade from Ivory Coast or Chesapeake bay - it definitely isnt the Trade steering from Lübeck and Champagne Trade steering also only gets applied when you have a merchant in that node. Very easy to achieve lategame and as colonizers, not so easy as others. Hence why i personally dont rate Trade steering as better than Goods Produced - Not only do extra goods boost trade AND production, but by the time you can make good use of trade steering the game is basically already over.
Regarding naval tradition, you could reduce or even completely eliminate the decay by upgrading a few more coastal CoTs to level 3. Obviously the optimal choices for the upgrades are TC provinces, which simultaneously boosts the regional GP modifier.
You're misreading the trade in the game. Trade steering is already applied in the interface. The extra 600 value was coming from the other trade nodes feeding into the English Channel overseas offscreen.
Byzanz got them best gov type with the pronoias just get free stuff once you their ruler dies. Also the missions give you stuff like 13% conversion speed and only crazy stuff in there.
If you’re not doing Norse, I think Asha Monarchy is better (also gives you 3 mana a month)… Russian Empire is great, and the extra unlockable gov reforms and events with it are great too… finally I’d say too many people sleep on EoC, once you ramp up those celestial reforms the buffs really stack up, and there are some crazy things you can do with tributaries to stack mana points like crazy if you’re not doing a one tag WC…
The ccr and advisor edict is pretty strong tho. As japan you get 3 monarch points per year for every opm tributary. Im curious what happens if you change to the supreme shogun u get from the mission probably meritocracy becomes legitimacy, de decrees no longer viable but the celestial reforms you keep.. than again 10% ccr vs 5% admin eff (just the coring time it takes as cost doesnt matter anymore)
Going to have to try that government type! The one I like is the Great Russian Federation. Lots of bonuses. The big ones are 10% CCR, 10% Dev, 10% infantry combat, .5 army tradition, 350 gc, and .05 autonomy reduction
I honestly expected for form RU not Spain. My logic was also Siberian frontier = religious/culture conversions aswell. Sadly, I felt Siberian frontier was not worth the diplo. You need to do it early to get value for diplo cost. Also Relgious game is the toughest aspect for my run.

I want to try one culture. Can anybody suggest me a nation for it. And ideas. For example i know rome is good for culture conversion and that i need parlament. Are there any other tips?
Now days you have access to many Culture cost reduction bonuses. What is more important then stacking cost reduction is both, owning the land and converting religion. Think hard about the fact that you cannot culture convert land you do not own. So CCR and Admin Eff are really important.
@@BudgetMonk ty for the response bro. He's just writing off Army Tradition, like its not the biggest source of military quality outside of tech. 25% morale is gigantic, plus the 10 leader pips. Yeah but the courts take way less time and investment, you need to conquer all those ports and have multiple merchants to do what you suggest.
