    Hi Tobin great Video!
The one thing that is the same is the 89😅
I know that for a long time but you make better videos for debunking some crazy things in the Shave World! Because when you look both only with the eyes they are totally different! And I also called Mühle in Germany they said the same like to you!
Have a great day Tobin, and more from this.

Thanks Robert, I really don't understand how people can say that they are the same head but yet they have different measurements it doesn't make any sense to me it's like saying that a size 7 shoe is the same as a size 11 shoe.
And thanks for letting me know that you also called Mühle. I invite everyone who disbelieve us to do it.

A++ LOVED IT! This one really hits me.
I started off with the muhle r89. Too mild and just didn’t work for me. Later I tried the EJ DE89 and liked it way better. More efficient and easier to work with.
Ppl always said I was crazy and parroted that same none sense that Muhle worked with EJ for the DE89 & they are the same razor just different handles.
Glad to know what I felt was real & they are in fact different.
Really liked how you went to the sources old school style.
    Very well done sir!

Nice! Well, not surprising to me, I've never heard those myths before, but it is an interesting one. I did see an interview with the CEO and from the way he talked about their razor design, a collaboration with Muhle seems very unlikely. Interesting series, should be fun! Take care!

I also contacted both companies, and was told different information. I didn't use the word 'partnership', which, to me, implies they held equal shares in a limited company; they didn't. I asked if they collaborated in the original design and tooling costs. I was categorically told yes, they shared equipment costs, but since then both companies have their own manufacturing process and have changed the specs of the razor. I no longer have the emails, but the information from Muhle came directly from the owners and is referenced in the following video at 13:49 ruclips.net/video/uzxB_4nZffM/видео.html

While on the phone with both of them I was very clear with my questions I wasn't just questioning a partnership I was questioning any sort of collaboration or communication between the two companies and both companies denied ever communicating with the other company.
At least to me, they did, another RUclipsr Robert's Classics called Muhle and they told him what they told me.
All I have to rely on is what they told me on the phone. I spoke with both companies for roughly ten minutes.

I've wondered the same thing and I believe you are correct it has to be that they look similar they both came out around the same time and they both have the number 89 in them.

What I had heard was that they worked together on the basic design, then fine tuned it for each of their markets. Given the timing of the launches, the very similar appearance, and the "89" in both names, it's not hard to see where such a belief sprang from.
But you're right; if that were true, there would be no benefit to either company to denying the collaboration. Guess the similarities come down to great minds thinking alike.

But I wonder why even their soaps, shaving creams etc. look the same?
But if one head has a gap of around 0.4 mm and the other of around 0.7 mm why nearly nobody noticed a difference? Does they have neutral and negative exposure? Because else I think you should notice it immediately.
By the way - Tobin do you have a Video where you reviewed in a shave both razors side by side?

Hey Christian I don't have any videos of me shaving with them side by side although I've done many shaves like that on my own.
I think many don't notice because that's how powerful the mind is. People see what they want to see. The power of suggestion is real.
As to the soap, I don't know. That would be worth a phone call. But I do know this. Mühle claims ALL of THIER products are made in their factory in Germany.
I never owned any of Muhle or Edwin's soap/creams.
I'll definitely do a video with them.
If you call Muhle I'd love to know what they say about the other products.

This is a great series Tobin. Fact vs Ficton, love it. Open, objective, factual, and proven. Can’t wait to see what is next! Best regards, Glenn
