      @@stevewilliams7457 Online class is good but not full time. We can cut the fees if half of the entire course is online. We still need face to face assistant but to be inside a class each day is not necessary though. You can go to your friends house learning together while your lecturer sitting comfortably inside their office. The problem now is because of corona. Students can't meet each other.

      @@stevewilliams7457 As an 11th garder I have to say online class is not half as effective as offline, because it doesn't provide the atmosphere of sitting in a classroom and learning where you are more focused on what's happening. In an online class, contrary to what most people think, the interaction is very limited (mostly because of technical issues). Also it's highly distracting and hard to focus. Like anytime you can do a ctrl + tab and switch to RUclips and watch a video like.....It's just _there_

      @@manuelcalavera7272 Actually driving a truck can be a lot harder then you think, the dead zone of a truck is pretty big especially when you have a bigger truck.
      Also a lot of truck drivers drive long distances and drive for longer times then other "normal" drivers, if you don't take your required breaks (which they often don't do because of time limits and stuff like that, this was a huge topic on the Dutch news about a month or so back) it can get really hard to focus which is crusial on the road especially when driving a truck..

    I couldn’t find a list, so here you go:
    1. Medicine and IT in medicine
    eg. working on machines for surgery
    2. Creative professions
    Jobs that AI and technology can’t recreate like video editing, architects and photographers.
    3. Sales
    Sales is moving towards individual/personalised care that can’t be recreated by technology.
    4. Food
    Basic automation. Consumers are eating out more/cooking less.
    5. Developers
    Software devs, UX/UI engineers. At the forefront of technology.
    6. Education
    Languages and skills. Unorthodox like the Finnish schooling system. Teachers will be in high demand, most likely online learning will be in more demand.
    Future jobs: trash engineers, drone operator, be engineer, educational advisor, body/organ creator.
    Jobs that won’t be in demand in the future:
    1. Agricultural
    2. Postal services
    3. Data entry

      I'm not sure agriculture will not be useful in the future. More and more people are searching for ,,biological" food, less processed food and more healthy one. Moreover, all the food industry starts from agriculture (for example the chicken and potatoes for fast foods are obtain due to agriculture). And there are far more examples. So I strongly believe that this sector is so underrated now, but in the future won't lost.

      @femmeNikita27 6 лет назад +19

      Well, maybe. But plans are for AI to be autonomous in this regard too, so the question is : what will be left for humans if physical jobs will be even less paid than nowadays and AI will be programming itself. What then? I guess nobody is thinking about just because for people wh feel stronger than robots and AI now such things are hard to imagine. But let's not forget that even creators of first computers believed that maybe the world will need in the future a few of them, not millions at every home. As for programming- currently poverty is still linked to lower math skills, especially among females. But nobody cares about it. Yet it's hard to imagine that someone can try to learn programming without getting solid math skills first. So if lack of programming skills is illiteracy it's a simple consequence of neglecting math literacy on a global scale.

    • @femmeNikita27
      @femmeNikita27 6 лет назад +7

      AI already does it for cities in Saudi Arabia with no human intervention - analyzes and solves the problems. Intution is something very logical that simply comes from past experience, so AI can develop it as well. Without being good at maths one will never avoid certain logical mistakes with the code and problems with making a software friendly for AI, so good luck with your coding career if math is not your strong suit. Math based coherence of coding will grow in importance as systems of AI will become more complex and more integrated in Internet of things.

      unless you’re in a medicine or highly stratified science, college is more about learning how to collaborate, utilize modern technology, meet deadlines, and master information that may or may not be useful. it’s less about the content and more about the general skill building. you could argue that you’d get these skills in any workplace, but commitment to a concept for four/five years shows discipline and adaptability, which is a good sign for employers. While I remember almost nothing from physics 2302, I do remember the mental fortitude it took to conquer the more complex problems, and that carried into the workplace. I discovered how single split phase residential electrical service works in detail which is a fairly complex subject. I agree, the days of classroom style learning with a monotone professor writing everything on a chalk board is coming to an end. I had my doubts about online education but not any more. The one advantage of traditional education is that there are enforced standards of testing and compliance, thus there is no room for goofing off or not meeting standards. In short, you have to take tests to verify that you have mastered the curriculum.

    I find this list really tragic!
    The idea that education is moving to a more customised education system is going to leave young people lacking in so many essential life skills which play such an important role on making us well rounded creatures.
    To lose professions such as farming and agriculture is so tragic! Its a noble and beautiful profession which allows people to work directly with the most spectacular creation of all which is our natural world.
    We are becoming creatures where for the large majority of our existance we will spend it behind a screen both professionally and for leisure and recreation. The digital world is a dark and sad world and humans are becoming more robotic and unsocial creatures by the day which is destroying the very essence of what it is to be human.
    We have self service shops where technology has come at a price of social interaction and service which is such an essential part of who we are as human beings. This is really sad and tragic insight into the future of the human race!

    You made it sound like photography and videography are smart choices. You also have to pick professions which are in high demand and low supply. Everyone with a camera is a “photographer.” And everyone knows someone who will do it for free. If the field has a low barrier to entry, then it’s probably not going to pay very well.

      I agree, don't know how or why that made the list, but engineers, scientists didn't, and according to her photography is more important than trucking. Photography has been on the decline for years and has already pretty much been 'automated' by the average Joe with an iPhone, or andriod smartphone camera. It's pretty much a hobby at this point, and not even a profession.

    Online education is great and definitely has its place but there are some key factors that are missing from it. Education is not only about funneling information into one's head. When you go to a traditional school with a physical campus you learn lessons both from lectures and from your peers. I've learned as much from lectures as from classmates outside the classroom, if not more. These real-world interactions are hard to replicate online, at least while VR is not as real as what you see in the movie The Matrix. Also, a person's ability and willingness to learn are based on motivation. When there are no external motivators such as peers and instructors to stimulate you, your motivation will begin to wane. With online learning, there is also little accountability - the only accountability you may have is to anonymous avatars on a screen.

    So cool, I just subscribed on Skillshare, thank you for the two-month offer, that's great! I've been thinking for a long time about the many things I'm interested in learning, but you know, you can't just take a 1 or 2-year course and hope it works out. But to learn from the professionals first is the best way to get an insight into the field. Can't wait to start learning!
    In my country, there's actually an ongoing research about what professions will be needed, what are the necessary skills needed - in the next 5-10 years and what education those skills require. So this is a very necessary and interesting topic, thanks for sharing!
    I, for example, don't plan on keeping one job or one profession. I think one of the important things in the future (and now, also) is the ability to learn and evolve and to have a diverse skill set. I want to learn many things to be sure that I'll have a plan A and B and C ...
