I’m American, and I watched this video until the end! If you’re learning English, everything she said is 100% accurate. And it’s all things done that the majority of the time I don’t even realize I’m doing. But I suppose it’s this way for any native speaker of any language. I am currently trying to self-learn French, and oftentimes I think they are speaking extremely too fast to understand. But i realize they do a lot of the same things we do in English-combining words, omitting letters, making up sounds, etc. So I know I am not the intended audience for this video, but thank you for pointing out common speaking patterns and I believe it will help me in my better understanding of the French language!
You do this, i belive you. I learn anotger language , it's English, and me hard too. But i wanted to offer you communicate in direct or something, that practice english someone. Are you don't against?
It's very important to learn"Connected speech" to understand what native speakers are talking about even if they are talking fast. Thank you for all of your tips! It's really helpful!
You put it so well in the description and in the intro to this video: When native English speakers speak fast, the boundaries between words disappear and this gives the impression of talking fast. Exactly this! People are not saying the perfect, dictionary form of words really quickly! That would be impossible. And I don't think most people realise to what extent they do this in their own language - they assume they articulate words clearly. But they're also deleting parts of them, blending them together and using different sounds. It's great to have a deep dive like this on the topic. You go into so many useful aspects of "fast English" but from experience, I would say that listening for and using contractions can give English learners a lot of "bang for their buck" as many are so hesitant to use them.
Omg Marina, thank you so much 💛 I'm Brazilian and I really need to improve my English, but here, I don't have great english classes, and you save me! Love you 💕

This is the first video I have seen from your channel and I found it useful, helpful I mean worth to learning. I decided to watch your all videos and improve my english with them
You are one of the nicest English teachers teaching not only about a bit of comfortable and uncomfortable English accents along with the passion to learn more about the better flow of English. Being an Indian, I find it a bit difficult and perilous simultaneously, and peculiarly strange and a bit easiest found interests in any foreign language never found before in my academic life. Really you enthusiast me and I would not be exaggerate if I said that I fond of your mentality.

Great Video on explaining how a language works to sound more native, even if you're speaking French or Italian or any other language, the main purpose is that we communicate and we feel comfortable speaking... and this video will help a lot of people realize that is amazing to learn another language for the sake of connecting with amazing people in this world and for the benefit of having a healthier brain and guiding your mind in the right direction! Bravo on the Video ❤
Marina, you're amazing! I've been watching your videos for just two weeks, but I'm totally excited with the things you do! You're making really great job!
This video is fantastic! She is so spot on with everything she said. However, as an American, I can say we do use contractions with names a lot of times. For example, instead of "Nate will go do that." It tends to come out as, "Nate'll go do that." Happens all the time. The word "will" tends to sound like "ill" or just a double "LL." Especially when you're speaking really relaxed. Another side tip is for the word "you're," which is a conjugation for "you are." It tends to come out of "yor" or "yer." Example: "Dude, yer hilarious!" Anyway, she is great and as a born and raised American growing up in Los Angeles my whole life, I promise you, you can learn a lot from this video if you're learning to speak like an American. This video made me laugh, because she pointed out so many things that I never even realised that we do haha. So good!
Hello ma'am, I am Anil Kumar from India.. your accent are so easy even a beginner can understand very easily.. I watch your videos and try to speak fluent English..
13:30 I am a native English speaker and I do apply the 'll to the end of names. I am Canadian so it might just be here but everyone else I know does this too so if you do that then don't feel bad or anything.
Midwest USA here, but I've travelled around the country. Everyone adds the 'll at the end of names in the states. It might make you sound like you're from the lower class, or very informal, but the way a non native speaker will say "bob will do this" is a dead giveaway that they're non native. That being said, it's too difficult to add 'll to a noun that already ends in L. No one will understand you if you say "bill'll lull 'em later".
That was so interesting, thank you! For me as a German who never really paid attention in English class but literally learned 80% of my English through RUclips videos I absolutely didn't know that words are supposed to be pronounced that harsh. I always thought that the smooth and kinda fast way is THE way most of the words have to be pronounced like "ledder" I would never say "letter" 😅😅😅
I have the same feelings with German language. Because you're speaking extremely fast, without breathing and pause. I think during my speech all those complicated grammar structure of German, synonymous, and trying keep everything in my head parallel. It's make's me mad. 😂 but old fashioned people in Germany speaking so beautiful, in low tempos. So, it's make me crazy.
I just had the light bulb moment thanks to you💡. It’s our ‘connecting’ of words that not natives find tough / perceive as too fast! I neeeeeed to also recommend you now to my students 👍🏼
You are a great teacher despite the fact some other youtubers (mean people) pick on few mistakes you make. And you explain things much better and easier! Keep up your good work.
Hello Girl, I liked the way you did it. I am an English teacher as well. Keep doing so, you're contributing for those who need help even it is not so long. Congratulations!
Hi Marina, thanks for the videos. Anyway, as to speaking, it helps to stress the reasons why there is so much use of connected speech, contractions, elision and weak forms.

English language and Literature are very vast. We must learn grammar and also pronunciation. Teacher MARINA MOGILKO was trying hard to teach us. I feel learning English helps me to learn my mother tongue better. Knowing grammar in English supports learning other languages better. All the principal languages are getting closer due to modern technology. We support LINGUAMARINA.
This video very helpfull to improve and row my english conversarion Before watch your video, i am nervous speaking with expatriat but today comfort to speak with expatriat.
I'm a native English speaker, I never realized we don't use "very" but you are completely right. I can't think of a scenario where I would choose to use "very" over a more specific alternative. Use of "very" is, in almost all cases, indicative of a non-native speaker. Also, I would recommend not using the word "very" in academic writing there is almost always a more useful alternative.
waw marina Sister...You are amazing...I feel proud to be a subscriber of yours..Thankyou iam learning alot from you.I don't know how to thankyou but you are the only reason that i choosed to learn american accent..I can understand you and i hope You always will inspire thousands out there..
She is my favorite teacher 😭😭 Thanks you I learned a lot from you 🙃 Btw people are always asking why french people don't speak english well ... Because I'm french and in highschool we're still learning present and how we make questions that is stupid !! I mean how do you want us to speak perfectly english when English class sucks 🤔🤔
Just a correction. No offence. Instead of “Thanks you I learned a lot from you” which is incorrect grammatically ( sorry if I’m making grammatical mistake too) you could say for example “Thanks TO you I’ve learned a lot” or “Thanks, I’ve learned a lot from you” Just an advice. Really sorry if I’m making a mistake too. I just think this is 100% incorrect. But we learn from our wrongs ( I know there is not such a word 🙉 but I liked that) ❤️

It might make you sound like you're from the lower class, or very informal, but the way a non native speaker will say "bob will do this" is a dead giveaway that they're non native. That being said, it's too difficult to add 'll to a noun that already ends in L. No one will understand you if you say "bill'll lull 'em later".
You are an excellent teacher. Congratulations for your work. Wish you a happy life madam
Ja, ich schreibe das auf Deutsch, weil ich vor ein paar Jahren einen Deutschkurs besucht habe, und ist das richtig? ich bin nicht der beste lol
@@kristismart7537 du hast sehr gut geschrieben. Einfach perfekt gemacht 🤝🙂
I just had the light bulb moment thanks to you💡. It’s our ‘connecting’ of words that not natives find tough / perceive as too fast! I neeeeeed to also recommend you now to my students 👍🏼

What's the difference between American and Canadian
@@foreveryoungpptl the difference is just the accent and dialects used in Canada compared to the United States. Hoped that answered your question.
Your so great because your recommending another RUclipsrs without selfishness and you just thinking about your subscribers benefits
Марина, Вы просто находка для меня! Спасибо! You are amazing!
I didn´t underestand anything what you spoke, but i imagine you spoke good something.
Hi Marina, thanks for the videos. Anyway, as to speaking, it helps to stress the reasons why there is so much use of connected speech, contractions, elision and weak forms.

Hello,
My friend this topic is different, but I like to share you for your happy life which will start here after.
Just I want to say you, pray for him who have created you.
Just you say "O my Lord" who have created me please forgive my sins.
"O my Lord" who have created me, when I die and come in front you. please mercy on me and allow me to enter into heaven. It's very simple. We have to bow our head in front of our creator not in front of creation. Jesus peace be upon him also a human being. He was also eating, sleeping and walking on the streets but he was a messenger of God not God or son of God.
How could God feel hungry, thirsty and sleepy
though God is free from Every defects.
why we have to be confused that who is our creator and who is not.
Remember we have to worship to our creator!
And we have to believe in our final messenger who have introduced us to our creator.
That is our beloved prophet Mohammed peace and blessings me upon him.
Thank you!
Thank you for your English classes; I'm really understanding native English better.💋💋💋🖐😊
Marina
You are Russian with perfect english in emerican accent..i like your english very well
This video very helpfull to improve and row my english conversarion Before watch your video, i am nervous speaking with expatriat but today comfort to speak with expatriat.
I watched your first video. I love your style of teaching the American accent. Thank you. I learnt a lot. Love you
waw marina Sister...You are amazing...I feel proud to be a subscriber of yours..Thankyou iam learning alot from you.I don't know how to thankyou but you are the only reason that i choosed to learn american accent..I can understand you and i hope You always will inspire thousands out there..
I love it! It's loud and clear with perfect speed.
Your every word is so clear and easy to understand.
She is my favorite teacher 😭😭
Thanks you I learned a lot from you 🙃
Btw people are always asking why french people don't speak english well ... Because I'm french and in highschool we're still learning present and how we make questions that is stupid !!
I mean how do you want us to speak perfectly english when English class sucks 🤔🤔
Just a correction. No offence.
Instead of “Thanks you I learned a lot from you” which is incorrect grammatically ( sorry if I’m making grammatical mistake too) you could say for example “Thanks TO you I’ve learned a lot” or “Thanks, I’ve learned a lot from you”
Just an advice. Really sorry if I’m making a mistake too. I just think this is 100% incorrect. But we learn from our wrongs ( I know there is not such a word 🙉 but I liked that) ❤️
@@juliaj6309 why don't it could be just thank you
I love how u talk, so engaging🌹
