      Sadly, women are more likely to victim shame and call the victim a liar, than men... who just try to forget it, never talk about it, hope it goes away. Its very sad our fellow women, a large majority who have been victims themselves! cannot support eachother😞

      @geekyfraulein true but when you're a position of power and you decide not to protect your people which in this case are the students because you're scared of losing your position when your position is supposed to protect your students then you don't deserve that position that's why our main character here is having to take things into her own hands because the power that be especially other women who simply by being there and saying what this b**** is saying discredits all other women is what we as a society have to rely on you do have women out there making false allegations because they don't want to get in trouble for s*** and normally in these situations that being a young college student right out of high school doesn't want to get in trouble with their parents they truly destroy every credibility of a woman who goes to hell and because of that it's like the boy who cried wolf but it's a different person altogether that's saying that there's a f****** wolf or predator but that Predator knows how to work the system or at least can hide I don't know if anyone on this thread has watched American Pie but the whole plot of the movie centers around a guy putting a hidden webcam in what I think was his sister's room or someone he knew to get titty shots for his Friends but he ends up sending it to everyone in town don't know how that s*** happens and what's happening in the foreground is that he made himself look like a big buffoon cuz when he was trying to hook up or disconnect the the cam before anyone found out he did something stupid in front of the camera and he was mocked for it but the girl pretty much got her life destroyed and the movie is basically making her out to be a bad person because she seems a little Bitchie when really it's because she does not care for anybody is focusing on coing to college so really they make her out to be the bad guy because she's a prude who won't relax and just let people do whatever they want with her and something like that did happen in real life when a young teenage boy was paid by some older boys to get a video of his older sister undressing and those boys sent it to everyone they knew and by the time the sister found out about it it was too late it got to the interviewers for a university she was trying to apply for and Not only was her application denied she was basically blacklisted for something she didn't do she was violated by her own brother and was barely able to get into community colleges when she basically had a free ride to any college she wanted and that was also taken away from her and I believe this happened back in 2012 but basically regardless is it fiction or real life women are being punished for having a feminine body because they're seen only as sex objects even by other women and that destroys any credibility that they may have when they have another woman against them even more so when that other woman is also considered attractive

Huge cudos go out to Emerald Fennell for making The Best movie of 2020 and arguably the best movie in a decade. Carrie Mulligan will be hard-pressed to deliver a better performance than she did in this film and while she was nominated for one IMHO she deserved the Oscar Award for her work in this film. I left him over this (and because of the emotional and physical abuse) and he became obsessed.
    He had gotten a pretty large following on RUclips and social media from men who also used that line "this is every guys WORST nightmare." 😒
    This is why this movie hits me so hard. It truly seems like potentially holding a mirror to those who have no regard for listening to the victims.

      I’m saying this as a girl. A woman can literally accuse a man of rape, and he’s done for. I’m not saying he didn’t do it, but it’s a valid fear. I can link down videos that show how a woman can accuse a man, and she gets a slap on the wrist. I mean, it is a mans worst nightmare. Rightfully so. To sit in jail for something you didn’t do, only to figure out the accuser never faced harsh consequences.
      If he did truly do this, then obviously he’s in the wrong.

    This film kicked some serious ass, both literally and figuratively. This movie is so good, it almost makes me angry since every little detail is so meticulously crafted and it basically says what we’re all thinking, but choose not to say.... because it reminds us all of how some of us are either a victim, an assailant, or a bystander. It reminds us that there is zero shame, or weakness, when it comes to standing up for people who have been abused, oppressed, or manipulated in any kind of way... the fact that this subject matter is still as relevant to this day just goes to show how far behind we are when it comes to real, actual social justice in this country. I’m not saying we should all do what Mulligan’s character did, mainly because most of us do not* have the willpower], but if the movie isn’t enough to bring awareness, then I don’t know what it is. I am glad it one the Best Original Screenplay Oscar in 2021, because every single scene, line, word, and scene direction was the reason why it got nominated...
    Edit: I myself became acutely aware of five examples of sexual assault [one of which happened to a family member fifty years before I was even born]: December 2012, a drunk pedestrian grabs one of my female friend's asscheeks while walking, August 2010, one of my female classmates in high school was groped by a male student who barely knew her and vice versa, January 2007, one of my grade school instructors was chased at a playground, by a drunk vagrant, with a sharp object in his hand [she was pregnant at nine months], October 2002, a young woman was being grabbed from behind by this older man before hitting him in the groin with her elbow and running to a police officer who was patrolling the shopping center they were all in.... finally, December 1939, one of my great aunts who pulled away in a dark alley after walking on the sidewalk [in downtown the Bronx], then held at gunpoint, had her underwear and skirt stripped off and raped for a full minute before the man ran off in the street and would be identified by police as a coworker of hers who quit his job after being accused of assault by one female worker.
    4/5

      Daniel Hubbard, Thomas Kennedy, Darin Thomas, Shawn Oakman, and Brian Banks. This happened to many people not just men but women too when you look at cases like Nora Wall, it is very important to listen to the victims story respectfully yes and when real cases of rape do happen, as they sadly do too often, that’s something that needs to be handled with the utmost care. However, do not even think for a second that the stories of both men and women who are falsely accused of rape and sexual assault do not matter when you undermine that you are doing the very thing you are fighting against. Do not discredit their stories

    • @tiner8414
      @tiner8414 3 года назад +1

      I would have worded it differently, because I dont think most of us actually KNOW someone who had their life ruined be false accusations, but I seriously doubt anyone out there doesnt know SEVERAL women who has had their life ruined by sexual assault. Not as in others know, but THEY know that they will never get to be the person they were meant to become, the person who wasnt messed up emotionally by it. If you dont know someone like that, you are simply not a person anyone feels they can truly confide in, about issues like this...

    Of all the leads bent on revenge in modern revenge thrillers, Carey Mulligan is by far the most realistically portrayed. Most actors just put on a mopey face all the time. Mulligan plays the pain at different levels, sometimes she even forgets it in brief moments of normalcy. This strikes me as more realistic. Even severely traumatized people have a lot of variance in their moment to moment demeanor.
