Très bonne vidéo!BRAVO!super!+1like!
Je regarde avec plaisir!
beau travail!Moi aussi je bricole en électronique!
Super ça aide vraiment de pouvoir garder mon matériel en marche
Je sais que le marché est limité, mais j'espère que cela aidera quelqu'un
Merci pour vos gentils mots c'est très encourageant
Thanks for the video. I just bought a 2120... and some of the knobs are having a bit of a hard time. I feel better about opening it up now. Thanks!
HI i have a gsp2101 which will not power on are there any common things that cause this as i have changed the battery and fuse but no lights come on
I have one that started to drop out the tube would still be lite but the display would go out along with the sound. It would also change programs on it's own. Usually waiting awhile the display and sound would come back or if you switched it off and back on but now it wont even turn on. Going to try what you replaced
Those are the very same reasons that started my trail good luck 👍
I’m doing this repair I’ve use solder wick and everything is undone but it will not come loose off the board.
hey for the volume (output) potentiometer, can the flat cable coming from the pot be detached from the circuit board so it can be removed from the unit for easier re-soldering of the replacement potentiometer? It looks like it should simply unplug at the connector at the other end of the pot?
Great to see someone really enjoying these old units! I have a 2101, a 2112 and a 2120 that I've picked up over the years. I'm really glad I have them but sadly I haven't found any practical way to use them at home. It's just easier to use a digital modeler (of which I have way too many) when I want to practise or record. Hopefully I can find some way to get good sounds out of the Digitechs when my new home studio is up and running. For direct recording some sort of IR loading device will likely improve on the fairly basic speaker simulation in these units. I like when old tech can be put to good use, despite there being countless modern units available for very little money.
That's cool thank you for the kind words. I too have many of the modelers in my recording gear and do find for laying down a track they work well. But there really is something to be said for recording live with a few others for barracks and miking up everything to give it that synergy only live can bring. Hope you find a spot for yours I do love what I can get out of mine. Thanks for stopping by
Dave
@@TheDaveForsythBand Yeah, they're very cool units. Kind of 'the Axe-FX:s of their time'. It took me 15 years to get one, but at least it was a lot cheaper when I finally bought it :)
There's definitely something about playing and recording live. Used to do that with my old band and we captured som crazy stuff. Nowadays I'ms mostly playing/recording all by myself at home. I miss the old days. Haha.
Cheers!
I have a synth that won’t power on. Sq1. It worked and just didn’t turn on anymore. I changed the battery. Been in the attic for years. I have other stuff with problems. So I started building pedals. Still don’t know what I’m doing.
Hey dave I have had a GSP 2101 Studio for a while now and love but I cant seem to get the tubes working whats the easiest way to troubleshoot those? I have changed the Battery & Tubes themselves & also used some contact cleaner on the connections and everything else works but once you select the tubes it is just dead silence. any guidance would be appreciated hard to find info on these things now days
First question do the rubes light up? Have you checked to see if there is power going to them? They take a fair voltage to run.
The next thought I did have a broken soder connection that needed to be reheated and fixed on the main power board.
Hope that helps
Dave
can I copy all settings from one Artist 2120 to another 2120 - trying to configure my backup rig - thanks
There was a.program you could put on your comp to save settings.but I'm pretty sure its not compatible with today's computers. I'm not aware of any other way. If somee one else knows would love the info myself.
I have a small RP155 and Im getting a huge amount of buzz out of it. Bass to Crate BX100 amp, OK (sort of, small amount of buzz) . RP155 to amp only--OK...bass to RP155 to amp, unbelievable buzz. Could the problem be in the bass jack?
It does sound more bass related the pedal is amplifying an existing problem. Bass or cable?
My display keeps going bonkers, will bad tubes cause that? I replaced the battery
Does it change patches randomly?
Hi Dave, can you help with my GSP2101 which had sleep for 5 years and when I try to wake it up, fuse keep blown...Cheers!
My first go to would be to either check the tubes or replace them along with the battery. Now bear in mind that once the battery is replaced all your settings are done for. But I suspect they are already. Then do a hard reset on it see how it does .
@@TheDaveForsythBand Thanks for your kindness, I will try to get the tube and replace the battery.
I really appreciate this video - it's super helpful in troubleshooting a 2112 that I got from an old friend.
Just one thing. I had to turn captions on because I often couldn't make out what you were saying. Perhaps you'd consider turning the background sound down next time?
Thanks for posting!
Just picked one of these up reasonavly priced...and some patches work fine, and some are screechy static? Any idea what that is?
Most likely the tube needs replacing. Some patches don't use it so they will work .
@@TheDaveForsythBand tubes switched out...appears that every other patch is fizzy...1 is good..2 is fizzy...3 is good...etc. Can't find any info or anyone commwnting on anything similar
@@rshelby1971 sorry its not something ive heard of either. Anything I could offer would be a guess at this point.
It was a corroded battery
So today we were rehearsing and my 2120 just powered off and will not turn back on - is this a dead battery? Or is it a dead internal power supply?
There is a fuse that may have popped. Mine did that once years ago turned out to need new tubes. I did the chip set at the same time and for good measure changed the battery. But it did fire up by just replacing the fuse. In mine it was in the plastic molding where the ac cord goes
@@TheDaveForsythBand I looked at the fuse first - doesn't appear to be blown, but couldn't hurt to try
@@TheDaveForsythBand tested fuse with a multimeter - seems it is bad :)
The Dave Forsyth Band thanks for your quick reply - replaced the fuse today and all is good :)
I'm have trouble with the up and down control not working or intermittent. Can they be cleaned?
Are you talking the mod wheel? If so no replacement is the only fix
@@TheDaveForsythBand Thanks for responding. The up and down arrows just to the right of the display are intermittent. I think the switches maybe be dirty.
Can I get to them for cleaning. Are parts still available? I am repairing for a friend. Thank you. Robert
You can replace them easily i tried cleaning them with very temporary success went back to not working properly in very short order.
I have a digitech RP500 with no sound going into the input source. Tuner does not work either I did a factory reset but nothing
Sorry I haven't worked on the 500 so unfamiliar with it
@@TheDaveForsythBand I figured it out I used the wrong power adapter
I want to roll the opamps in one.
Olá digitech problema de sinal por favor você pode me ajudar estou esperando sua resposta
Is this repair video or some music clip? I cannot hear barely any word! Why must shit loud music be everywhere?
Is that why my rp7 wont turn on; you think ita peobbaly fried
Mine would always light up but would show weird digital info on the screen and no sound at all.
@@TheDaveForsythBand mine doesnt light up at all
@@yourmom705 do check the fuse did it act up at all before it shut down?
