Lexie Hull has decent defense but again, playing time is limited and given to Wallace. Which I just don't get. One of Side's favs along with Wheeler for sure. In summation, Berger by the team stats is the best shooter on the team and cannot get minutes. The floor general needed. And cannot get minutes. A great passer but cannot get minutes. She doesn’t get triple teamed stop it. She does get trapped particularly when coming off high pick and roll or screens because she’s probably the most dangerous three point shooter I’ve ever seen. Good analysis. Trade both Erica Wheeler and Aliyah Boston. Set more screens for Clark at the top of the key or beyond using a mobile big on a pick and roll. Alysa Smith should start at Center and Demi Fagbenle at forward and they are both mobile bigs who can pick and roll on screens and run the floor. Number one problem which needs to be corrected: Clark is not a point guard! Put her at the off guard spot, run plays for her to run around screens and she will be able to produce as everyone has expected her to. She can still dish from that position. Problem number two: The coach's marking pen is running out of ink. She is caught up in a web of things that have to be done and has been unable to scramble out of the web. While typing this out I was listening to you. So, according to you they have no true point guard. Well, SOMETHING has to be done about that. Simple. There are probably many players who weren't drafted who could be very comfortable running the Fever offense. (Just an idea.)
Nah...you can't just throw away a 6'5 center in Aliyah Boston that quick. Off to a rocky start but her points and rebounds being lower shouldn't be too alarming since Caitlin is on the team now. Still think it's too early for an accurate analysis of this team. Sidenote: Encouraging W against the Sparks. Caitlin played well even though she struggled to score and Boston had a good game.
NaLyssa Smith look lazy out there on defense , that is the 3rd year 2nd pick big , is that hard to developing a youth player ? assistant coach failed her ? her attitude isn't right , she seems turn off on coach
This was actually spot-on. I frequent knowledgeable sources that follow the Fever and this coincided with their assessments. Now, if only we could get Coach Sides to pick up on this.
CC College vs. Pro numbers. Shots per game 19.9 vs 12.5. 7 games = 108 points/89 shots = 1.21 points per shot. 1.21 x 19.9 = 24.1 points per game is what CC would average if she took as many shots as she did in collage. In a possible 280 minutes she has played 222 minutes or 79.3% which means she doesn’t play on average 8mins17secs per game. How in hell can you win games when the all time College Scorer is sitting on the bench?
Poor coaching, poor player selection, tough early playing schedule, and young players who really suffer due to the prior items I mentioned. The only players the Fever should keep are those who can run and gun. Slow feet and / or hands need to go ASAP. If you can't be effective moving fluidly and being effective, while setting high picks and moving without the ball, they need to be relaxed with someone who can. If you can't play very solid defense. They need to be replaced. Put the coaches favorites on the bench ubless they atre highly effective.
Basics, it always comes down to basics. Have to learn to walk, before you run. Sides will probably be re-evaluated after around 15 games on whether they maintain her for the whole year. That will come down to a roll of the dice.
I think they’ll make a decision during the Olympic break. The biggest issue with getting rid of Sides is that they have to find a coach that will be better. That’s the mistake the Lakers keep making when they fire coaches
Silly. There is no team right now, it is way too early. The Fever have two years of pathetic basketball behind them, the team hits the floor with that...we can't win. Clark is doing just fine, the stats prove it. Boston...Boston is a puzzle to me, and I put it on last year. The big issue for me is the lack of fundamentals by this team. Clark was overheard telling her coach, "They can't catch the ball". It takes 5 to be a team. I'm not sure they have the players to do it.
I think they need to be faster and bigger , teams are keying on Clark not giving her shots. I agree with they need to try the subs Hull, Berger and Taylor for her defense and speed. Smith looks like she is in slow motion,Fagbenle is fast and big doing very well with CC. They played better against Seattle and sparks weaker defenses floor more open. And passing to Boston posting up passes are not there , she did better in last two games got ball higher in the key. Better and bigger defenses they haven’t figured out yet also floor isn’t opening up like they thought with CC. CCis not shooting enough
The girl in the thumbnail Grace Berger gets no playing time even though she's 6'0 tall and the 7th pick in the draft. Its crazy that 5'5 Wheeler who's old and can't shoot is getting all her minutes.
So far Aliyah Boston seems out of shape. Let's see what happens as the season goes on. She's played better lately but still looks unsure, winded and clumsy out there.
They keep losing because their center can't play basketball. When your go-to big misses multiple layups per game, especially at crunch-time, you are going to lose.
So, all the turnovers from Clark is a non issue...? Come on. There is a reason they have back to back top lottery picks. 2 players, let alone one, does not a competitive team make.
Aliyah Boston is a relic of the past. A slow footed back to the basket center. Fagbenly or whatever the heck her name is, is the future fast and energetic
I agree Fab…. has a lot of potential. But I think Aliyah Boston can be great too. She just has a couple of little areas to improve that will make a huge difference.
Love your review excellent work I agreed with everything you had to say. Keep up the great work. Btw Diamond Miller of the Lynx is just returning from offseason meniscus surgery.
When the Aces play the Fever, they can't lose. Why? Because the Aces are the champions. It was a real bummer to see Boston miss to tie when Clark could have missed (or not) to win.
The coach the coach the coach! A great point guard, and CC is one, needs to bring the ball up the court. With her high IQ she can see everthing! You don't stick her in the corner! Sides should get the Iowa's head coach play book and install it immediately! Indiana has the players!
Wait a minute..... I'm looking at the picture. I didn't know Jrue holiday played for the Indiana fever and the Boston Celtics. Please somebody help me out. I'm confused looking at that picture
A very good a good analysis. CC turnovers will improve. Yes CC's teammates need to learn to expect her throws, but CC also has to learn which passes will work with the more aggressive defense of the WNBA & that will come with time & experience playing together & against more defenders. But CC will always have turnovers, that is true of any fast paced PG w/high assist numbers. I do agree about Pistons analysis, but that was already true just b/c CC is on the team & everyone wants to beat the big new star. I also think the Fever give up way too many 3pters & most of the players aren't even trying to get rebounds. They are way too focused on the paint which seems to be a pattern with Sides. I really hate to see Boston go, tho you may be right about the fit, but I would like to see if a good coach could better meld CC & Boston's styles. Most of the issue could be fixed by mid season if they just got a new coach. The Olympic break would be a perfect time to switch. Wallace looks like she's doing a lot, but she just wasting a lot of energy & accomplishes nothing. And she screwed up both chances for the Fever to beat Seattle. Sides favoritism of Wheeler & Wallace runs deep. They played w/her in Atlanta & she brought them in as soon as she became Fever head coach. Sides even convinced the Fever Mgmt to pay Wheeler the highest salary of any player in the league at the time to get her on the team. Sides even admitted CC was pretty much helping her coach in the Sparks game by pointing out plays for teammates who were shooting well and/or what defensive holes they could take advantage of.
Your analysis is spot on, but don't give up on Boston who should be picking for Clark, Berger and Kelsey Mitchel (who was Number 4 All Time College Scorer). Once Boston sets a mid court pick another off ball pick should be set to free Boston who could get an open jump shot or roll to the basket. Boston is a very good foul shooter for a Big and is a good jump shooter but could be a great jump shooter. But the point is Coach Sales does not know how to use picks to free what might be the best shooting players in the WNBA. Fever have the Number 1 & 4 All time NCAA scorers, Grace Berger who had a high lever mid range college game and a great mid range Big. Sales needs to change or turn into Bluder.
The starting 5 should be CC, Mitchell, Boston, Smith and Fagbenle. Let’s get it right. Then let’s substitute correctly by not taking all these starters out at the same time or when they finally get their rhythm
This, by far, is the best take and the reason why the IND Fever is, for now, a terrible team. This guy stated nothing but facts in this video. I'm not sure if this team watches films about their performances, but they should. This team playsa terrible defense; they look lost out there. They have no half-court offensive set that amounts to good shots; the coaching could be better. No corrections were made after the games were played, and it shows. This was a great video
It's easy to diagnose. Indiana needs another baller 6'5'' or taller to play along side Boston. They have perimeter shooters. That's the reason Chicago drafted Cardoso and Reese. The Aces have size. New York has size. You need bigs present in the front court. It's not complicated. I never played basketball.
First time I witness a team play back to back without enough breaks to train and get some rest. Compared to other teams that are given gaps to play their next games, the Fever’s situation is so different. No wonder they lose 6 out of 7. What do you expect?
The schedule set them up for failure. They've played 6 out of their 11 games against the top 3 teams at a torrid paced schedule. All other teams played 3 to 4 games less than the Fever, and the schedule completely wore them out. That being said, they should play Berger, Wheeler and Clark all together and they could really be making some great strides with them.
The team doesn't play with chemistry yet. I wouldn't think about trading Aliyah this season. If they get through a full season and there still isn't a good connection, then maybe you could consider it. They have a lot of new pieces and changes, and they haven't had any time to practice at all since the season started to help create it. 6 games since the season started when some other teams only have 3 is a bit ridiculous.
Good analysis! Clark is just not adjusting to the pro game. Her contemporaries are outplaying her. Clark stands around like a statue when it comes to defense. Kate Martin out-hustles Clark. Reese, Brink, and Martin seem much more comfortable, and are playing hard on both defense and offense. Clark needs to get it together and start playing much more aggressively on defense, as well as stop the turnovers. That alone would help the team. It was painful watching LV pull away in the second quarter of the last game.
They won their 1st game tonight and Aaliyah boston showed up big time. I truly believe this team's success isnt dependent of caitlin's success but boston's. The fact that people have this notion that they think clark needs to take 20 shots for a bunch a points for them to win is ridiculous she only had like 10 points tonight but i would say her play was more impactful this game than the other 3 or 4. I think her being off ball controls her TOs and leads to her making better plays. She needs to make those open shots though. If she plays pg then i think the fever are screwed. Clark needs to develop her overall game to be impactful in this league, its hard to watch her not be able to score unless its a FT or layup. She needs to move when the ball isnt in her hands. Maybe sides should sit clark occasionally and sit wheeler and waller indefinitely. The other players were struggling too but are improving. Running the offense through boston makes more sense right now as clark develops her game and gets more comfortable and gets more rest because she's playing way too many minutes for a rookie right now.
no one thinks that, most everyone knew cc would be pulling defensive players from other to guard her openning up others to do the scoring, problem is no one but mitchell and cc was scoring, boston first 5 games couldnt hit a barn with a cannon .even easy layups look like half court shots when boston tried them ,it was pitiful. no one rebounding allowed opposing teams several rebounds per shot until they made the points and coaches lack of ability to read the players and what was lacking hurt even more, constantly the bench in each game scored bettered than the main line up other than mitchell and cc yet coach kept doing the same bs
She is a first year rookie...she will eventually get to that point...considering she has no talent around her...after all...the worst team always gets the number 1 pick...so she starts out playing for the worst team in the league and she cant do it all by herself....all of this hate directed at her isnt helping either.
bless it, basing a season on 6 games proves your ignorance to basketball especially the wnba and cc wasnt on the fever last yr so had nothing to do with her and expecting championship play out of a team thats played 6 games in 10 days with 2 weeks of practice again proves your stupidity but doesnt change cc record
A lot of what you say I guess is true, I've seen Taylor play, watching OSU, she is good. I've been ranting mostly about what you've been saying. I know the Fever is a crappy team, two number one picks in a row. The WNBA in its wisdom decides to give a schedule that no other team has. 7 games in 12 days.one day between games, finally win one, their reward, play the best team the next day. Aces played 4 games in that same timeframe. No other team has played 7 games.
🤔At times super stars will struggle their rookie year, trades will be made for supporting role players will be made, only until then good things will happen.😎
What i see from way out in the park is the girls can pass good but they need to shot not dribble miss not follow the shot , The Team is Great they must settle down shot not around the court run? They need To jam slam out side shots rebounds knowing when the player is Hot grab got Taught the Key if need BE
Boston woke up for spark games than went back to sleep for ace every time wheeler gets in they get behind it’s coach decision Cc ask for trade other team will treat you better 🇺🇸🇺🇸
They are losing because they’re not a good team. Good teams don’t get a number one pick. The draft system is arranged the way it is so that bad teams can get good players and get better over time.
maybe if the black girls spent less time at the tattoo parlor and the beauty saloon getting their hair colored and spent it practicing they wouldn't be so bad
And today, the Fever are playing against the Aces. I figure no one want to watch this game because the Aces are the defending champions and only lost one game this season while winning the rest. The Fever on the other hand are struggling so Aces vs. Fever will certainly be a blowout in favor of the Aces.
I'll be fair and give you my pregame opinions (Which are in multiple videos on IG). Their coach is a fangirl of Caitlin and refuses to implement a winning strategy. Caitlin has gone through MULTIPLE games, where she didn't run the baseline ONCE. Just like at Iowa, she only moves when trying to get the ball back. This is the pros. I no longer blame her. It is purely on the coach that Caitlin remains stationery after a pass and has her team playing 4 on 5. 2nd, Aliyah Boston should average 17-20 this year, win a bunch of games and be an MVP Candidate. Her pure talent warrants that. Early post touches and trust from her teammates, despite early struggles, are key in rebuilding her confidence. I actually like Erica Wheeler. She needs to start. Her taking the ball down and fighting through full court traps on Caitlin's behalf will help ease the transition. Plus it will limit Caitlin's turnovers and she can conserve some of that energy for defensive intensity. Now do you have to endure 3 or 4 Wheeler bone headed plays? Sure. That is a low price to pay for the huge effect it can have on Caitlin's efficiency and durability.
Because they are bad, bad coach, bad chemistry, whimpy, whiner Clark and a really slow big in Boston (she's not good). Having said that, it is really an unwatchable game, this WNBA...not entertaining.
NO, IT IS NOT THE OTHER PLAYERS , IT IS YOUR SO CALLED GENERATIONAL PLAYER NOT LIVING UP TO ALL THE HYPE . NOW HER WORSHIPPERS HAS BE REDUCED TO MAKING EXCUSES AND SHOWING HOW DESPERATE THEY ARE FIR HER TO SHINE . SHOWING THE FEW SHOTS SHE IS MAKING ON THE HIGHLIGHTS ARE NOT FOOLING NO ONE .
Christie Sides has ruined this TEAM by putting CC 1st, 2nd, 3rd option for scoring. She will go down as the worst W coach for getting Boston traded in favor of Clark lone wolf ball.
Excellent video and breakdown. I definitely agree with Berger getting more playing time. She's very talented and plays with healthy aggression

NaLyssa Smith look lazy out there on defense , that is the 3rd year 2nd pick big , is that hard to developing a youth player ? assistant coach failed her ? her attitude isn't right , she seems turn off on coach
Sounds like a good take
This was actually spot-on. I frequent knowledgeable sources that follow the Fever and this coincided with their assessments. Now, if only we could get Coach Sides to pick up on this.
Indiana Fever offense stinks... starts with the Head Coach..
How do you think the college teams are going to do next season, especially the teams that are moving to the Big Ten?
Aly Boston is OVER WEIGHT AND OUT OF SHAPE. Bad team play doesn't describe this teams effort.
And ask the question WHY IS BOSTON BEHIND the 3 point line? Why no follow up on their shots? Where is the offensive rebounds?
They keep losing because their center can't play basketball. When your go-to big misses multiple layups per game, especially at crunch-time, you are going to lose.
So, all the turnovers from Clark is a non issue...? Come on. There is a reason they have back to back top lottery picks. 2 players, let alone one, does not a competitive team make.
@@ronniemcknight3174 no, they keep losing because they miss to many layups
I agree with you, let’s play everyone. Sides has favorites for sure by watching who she plays.
I think that’s fair. We need a bigger sample size for sure
As much as I love Sides her not playing those players is wild.
Isn't Indiana the worst team last conference?
Good analysis! Clark is just not adjusting to the pro game. Her contemporaries are outplaying her. Clark stands around like a statue when it comes to defense. Kate Martin out-hustles Clark. Reese, Brink, and Martin seem much more comfortable, and are playing hard on both defense and offense. Clark needs to get it together and start playing much more aggressively on defense, as well as stop the turnovers. That alone would help the team. It was painful watching LV pull away in the second quarter of the last game.
Wow!! You figured this out after only 5 games!!! You are a genius!!
Fever won 13 games last season. As for this season, it looks like they wont even win 5 at this rate.
@@sharondeas3421 It's a lottery they weren't the worse team last year 2 other teams were worse
bless it, basing a season on 6 games proves your ignorance to basketball especially the wnba and cc wasnt on the fever last yr so had nothing to do with her and expecting championship play out of a team thats played 6 games in 10 days with 2 weeks of practice again proves your stupidity but doesnt change cc record
This is a pretty fair analysis
Great analysis
Her turnovers came from her teammates not catching the ball
Over/under throwing passes is a thing.
@@maxpower247CC fans are insane bro. Nothing negative is ever her fault.
Until CC’s teammates start knocking down open shots Fever/clark will struggle. I thought these women were pros.
Makes sense, I hope they try your way.
CC22 fan forever!!!
Wheeler and the coach sux and boston plays soft! You need to toughen her up.
Are you actually watching? Caitlin’s turn overs are 75% on her team mates they can’t catch a ball to save their souls
🤔At times super stars will struggle their rookie year, trades will be made for supporting role players will be made, only until then good things will happen.😎
Let just said indiana fever needs alot to improve and will aliyah boston will stay or go if she doesn’t ger better will see what happens 🤔🤔
Find a way to send Boston to Golden State with PB next year.
LOUSY SCHEDULE--TOO MANY GAMES,NO PRACTICE AND FATIGUE.
They are struggling beecause they finished 10th last year and are trying to learn how to play as a team.
I don’t know how it works in the WNBA, but doesn’t the worst team in the league get the number one pick in the draft?
What i see from way out in the park is the girls can pass good but they need to shot not dribble miss not follow the shot , The Team is Great they must settle down shot not around the court run? They need To jam slam out side shots rebounds knowing when the player is Hot grab got Taught the Key if need BE
Clark’s role is to shoot. Let Kelsey run the ball. This is a rookie for god sake and you letting her take charge.
Paige is worse than Wheeler and Will Not make it in the W!! Sorry she's Not the answer your looking for!!!!
How much time do they spend in the gym?
Dump the coach,
Its going to be a long season. The fever can’t shoot and they can’t defend.
maybe if the black girls spent less time at the tattoo parlor and the beauty saloon getting their hair colored and spent it practicing they wouldn't be so bad
Washington and Indiana should just play each other for the rights to Paige.
And today, the Fever are playing against the Aces. I figure no one want to watch this game because the Aces are the defending champions and only lost one game this season while winning the rest. The Fever on the other hand are struggling so Aces vs. Fever will certainly be a blowout in favor of the Aces.
Bulls sucked when MJ arrived for his first season
the team has been in last place in the last several years. i doubt 1 player will create an immediate winning team.
If I was Aliyah Boston I would be on the phone with my agent demanding a trade
Trade to where? She is slow, not conditioned to play at a fast pace, and inconsistent at both ends of the court.
Do they watch game videos?
Mostly horrendous coaching!
Arent they the youngest team in the league??
4 white 10 black that's the problem
Inexperienced and very young team.
More BERGER less Hamburger Helper!
They need to focus spend more time in the gym.
Sure. That is a low price to pay for the huge effect it can have on Caitlin's efficiency and durability.
get rid of the coach that's the problem an find a coach that knows how to coach properly
Boston is out of shape
Couching
I saw that thumbnail change 😂
Ofc they win right after I post this 😂
5:13 grace berger isnt fun to watch bro sorry. Hull is ok. Never seen celeste taylor play
Best video on Indian I have seen
Thank you
Try a new coach that will help a lot
Their coach sucks
They suck pretty simple
bad coaching is the number one issue. Sides over coaches. Also CC's not good shooter.
Christie Sides has ruined this TEAM by putting CC 1st, 2nd, 3rd option for scoring. She will go down as the worst W coach for getting Boston traded in favor of Clark lone wolf ball.
I can’t stand Iowa fans
