My short letter in the e-mail was rather well-worded and just suggested they take a look at the video, explaining how you backed up all your points with video clips. I was very polite; the e-mail I wrote was very soft and pleasant. If a screener at the Pacer's contact e-mail even looked at the video for a few seconds, I thought he or she might say, "Hmm, this is thoughtful and well-reasoned." By the way, one of the RUclipsrs I sent it to responded to me and said the video was great, and this guy's videos are full of basketball terms and plays I still don't grasp ... but he got back to me and was very positive. Also, it is difficult to "fix" these problems on the short time table of the WNBA. The draft was on April 15th and the first games were plaed two weeks later. What kind of insane schedule is that? I am a fan of American football, and the time needed to bring a team together, work on plays and gel is a heck of a lot longer than two weeks and 2-3 days between games.

@@royacfalle1570 Fans need to understand the mid range is dead it’s bad shot period! Modern analytics 3’s, layups, Free throws & assists. She doesn’t need a mid range shot & she has one but it’s a less valuable shot which is why she doesn’t take them because it’s better to shoot & miss a 3 than take a mid range shot.
It’s math: 4/12 from 3 (33%) 12 pts vs 6/12 from 2 (50%) 12 pts. As you can see shooting a low percentage from 3 is equal to shooting great from the mid range. Most players are not shooting 50% from the midrange you would be a HOF’er 😂 & she is career 38% from 3 a great percentage. So, she’s the perfect modern analytical player a coaches dream. Shot the 3 ball above avg, pressured the rim finish or get fouled, make Free Throws, and play make get teammates open looks (assist).
It also explains why even though she is shooting below avg on her 3 pt shot she is still averaging more points than any of the other rookies and it’s not on high volume either. She’s averaging 17 pts a game on 30% from 3. What’s going to happen once her 3 pt shot progresses back to her avg 38% or above & the refs actually start calling fouls? She’s going to be a 25 pt + scorer easily just like at Iowa. There’s no need to change anything about her game. Her struggles are greatly exaggerated if you know ball. Her 3 ball is below avg which is because of leg fatigue not hard W defense. She’s missing plenty of good open looks.
Now, she is not going to shoot efficiently from 3 this year IMO because her legs are fried (tired). She will play over near 80 games this year more if they make the playoffs. Her 3 pt shot will be fine next year.
I think she should add a floater which can be equal in value to layup because of the shot blocking abilities of the bigs in the W but she is not adding a midrange shots because the value is not greater than 3 pt shot.

What made her the number one overall pick?
    Her low post game.
I agree her awareness in this offense is terrible.
However, I also see some bad decision making on the guard play. Both
    guards.
    Terrible offense.
Not a good fit for Caitlin.
    Nor Boston.
    Mitchell.
The whole situation is a mess.
Too many talented young players on this team.
Boston is a 6’5 low post scorer who can shoot from mid range.

Typically you don't build your entire team around a rookie. Especially one that is unproven. Clark will probably turn out to be a good player but not a goat type player. Her passing is good and her hustle is good but he defense is bad, she has no mid range and relies too much on the 3 ball. Even with the 3 ball right now the shot is missing more then it's going in. I feel like she's having bad games because she has no other consistent shot. Like when stars in the NBA that can shoot the 3 struggle the great one get their shot going by driving it inside. It's also weird that she has no mid range. Like I rarely see her knock down a jump shot. It's either perimeter mostly or a layup.

Caitlin often is seen telling Sides they are out of place. This team needs to be revamped by next year opener. I would be looking to make trades at the deadline. Boston has value after that not much. The play usually dies as soon as Mitchell or Wheeler touch the ball on a pass. They aren't even looking to pass once they have the rock. Eyes immediately go the floor and they take off. 1st time viewer here. I loved the commentary and key points. This video and your insights need to be sent to the Indiana Fever and Christie Sides. I’m wondering if Coach Sides, Is even realizing these things, and looking at them rather than continuing to try to fine tune in alot of areas that are not doing anything, and in some games actually making things worse. I could see by the 5th game, that things hadn’t changed, and that there were so many wrong things going on. I had been seeing so many flaws, since that 5th game, And I began to realize that teams were immediately picking up on it as well and boxing Clark out. Teams immediately began to put strategy together, double and tripling up on Caitlin, knowing that Christie is not doing anything to change it, and has not been consistent in her coaching. As a Fever fan it was very disappointing Seeing these flaws and Failures develop and having to gruel through each and every game. It’s not the players fault because they are being told what to do by Coach Sides and reprimanded if they do not follow through. There is so much talent on the Fever. It is just crazy, but it is not being utilized whatsoever. This may sound really bad, but the truth is that if you had a situation where there was no coach at all, and the players had to make their own decisions, they would be far better off, and likely would win more games. You can clearly see the difference out there with WNBA teams that don’t even have close to the Fever talent but yet they’re more consistent and wins. This just goes to show that coaching really does make a difference, and when as an Organization you’re handed the keys to The Pot of Gold and you throw it down the toilet, you just create a situation of Great and Painful Fan disapointment.
