Eagles of Death Metal & U2 in Paris

- It may have occurred one day later than expected, but Eagles of Death Metal joined U2 on-stage in Paris this evening, marking their first live appearance since last month’s terror attacks ravaged the city (including EODM’s concert at the Bataclan, where 89 attendees were killed).
According to reports, Eagles of Death Metal joined U2 for a cover of Patti Smith’s “People Have the Power” (a song which Smith herself played with the band just one night prior). The members of U2 then stepped aside so that EODM could play their own song “I Love You All the Time” for the 20,000 strong in attendance.
“They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago, so we would like to offer them ours tonight,” Bono said in introducing Eagles of Death Metal.
Looking back at this now (and I watched at the time too), it’s clear EODM were still in shock - rightfully so. I like how Bono is ready at a moments notice if Jesse couldn’t carry on - you see his concern in the background as he holds the mic close. It’s clear U2 really had their back as well while giving them and the world a place to get back up and heal. I remember how absolutely devastating that attack was. This is a remarkable moment.
chill, it was a FF and they were all in it - at least, they got all the publicity - exactly what they wanted... and BTW Bono is deep in it...very deep!
They got them and others a ride, flight, hug home at their expense. Paid all the tabs, fees, medical bills, whatever they could. They spent untold millions they didn't brag about to help and then came back to host this little band from where "The Streets Have No Name" in the Mojave Desert to get them unafraid of assholes who kill and let everyone know two things. People have the power. Those with true power love all the time. France is amazing for how it handled it militarily then and now. The people handled it without calls for war, but with songs for love.
South Park might make jokes but the truth is upside-down, Bono is the shit, and U2 is historically always amazing.
I saw the worry too, but this ain't no Hendrix, Janis, Beefheart, Aphrodite's child or whoever.. How about we just enjoy the music sometimes? It's absolutely insane that that fucked situation brought the people and the genres together, but here we are.
Bono will go to the opening of an envelope if it meant that he got attention and publicity to parade as some fucking Saint and Wise man of rock. U2 had never played in the venue in their entire career. He had no business being there .

Dying to hog the limelight more like ! Watch him at Live Aid doing the the big sing song after he messed up his own set with his indulgence . Not to mention cutting time on the set for the next band . Out in front bold Bono was . Then you have the controversy when he kicked up a strop over the 2005 Live Aid version of that song , demanding that he sang the same lyrics that he sang in 1985 , despite no longer having the vocal ability to do it due to age . Oh he made sure that he was on the 2015 version too. If he wasn’t Bob’s mate he’d have been told to fuck off .

Lol 😂 Bono ? Very insecure man. Bet he was on the phone the moment the venue was back up and running . He wanted another publicity stunt ala The Good Friday Agreement , holding hands with Trimble n Hume despite not being from the area AND , unlike many other Irish groups , rarely played in the North , especially during the troubles (like Rory Gallagher did , of course he had died by then )

The band shouldn’t have gone back while Bono was going to be there . The management of the venue were very quick to criticise comments made by the front man shortly after the killings
The owners originally barred the front man over comments that he made about the security on the night of the attack ! The owner referred to him as “sick” .
Of course, the fella has a bit of a reputation for conspiracy theories , he claims that Muslims working at the venue were responsible, that it was an inside job . (The owner happens to be Jewish) . He claimed that 6 of the security men didn’t turn up for work . He later apologised for the comments .
This concert will go into history books... This is so powerfull.

U2 impresses me every time! EoDM may not be my cup of tea but I'm so happy that they got back on stage and performed for this crowd. Thank you U2 for giving them this opportunity!!

5:37 when people say bono is just a singer, they don't realise that he is a great orchestrator of music and feel and knew that the audience needed to take lead at this point - this is why bono is a legend.
“Just a singer“? That implies he can sing. He can’t. He hasn’t been able to sing since about 2000. That’s when his horrific vocal technique, 20 years of chain-smoking, and nonstop touring that fried his once beautiful voice, finally caught up to him. That’s why his voice sounds so paper thin and shrill. It’s also why they’ve been forced to transpose their earlier songs down so that he can sing them. But they sound awful. They sound like cringe worthy karaoke on a Thursday night in Toledo.

Jesse Hughes, the singer, has subsequently stated that if everyone in The Bataclan had held a gun no-one would've died. He is a registered US minister. Unbelievable. As contradictions go, he's clearly on both buses sexually, as well.

He had also said about few months after the event that Muslims working as security were in on the shoot out . They didn’t attend work on the night . The owners barred him . Yet when he apologised etc , he was brought back . He shouldn’t have bothered, and he should have told the owners to fuck off .
