@@fishgaming8599 to cut spark on a mower the small black wire going to each coil gets grounded.. .. for a signal to tell the tach your rpm you may have to mount a small transformer or other small elecrtronics coil next to the flywheel so it gets a electrical pulse each time the magnet in the flywheel passes by. ( depending on the size of the coil vs how close it is it may be to strong ?? A automotive crank position sensor may work placed by the starter teeth on the flywheel if 1 tooth is removed ?

The only thing I do to my exhaust is, i installed HkS muffler and removed the cat at the middle, still theres 2 more bullet on my exhaust system, 2 bullet that are already installed by the manufacturers.

@@Calvin-Nelson its a external removable light just need to see if it the positive or negative is switched. I had the light in my ac vents and the tach on the column in my old nova. I wish i would've became a electrical engineer. I love messing with that kinda stuff.

I Figured You Would Need To Delay The Light And Keep It On For A Few MilSeconds. But It Naturally Hitting Set Point And Falling Back Down From Now Ignition Seems To Work. I Plan On Using My 2nd Stage Nitrous Output To Intercept The Coils Just Like You Did. I Have A Hemi So All Injectors And Coils Get Constant 12v Key On And Their Grounds Are Controlled By PCM. I'll Just Snip All The Powers Of The Coils And Join Them At One Relay That Will Be Controlled By The Nitrous Controller Based On RPM. I Might Play Around With Time Delay Off So I Can Really Build Up Fuel For Bangs haha. I Just Want A Fireball Out My Turbo Hood Edit hahahaha.
Would it be possible to run something like this on a waste-spark coil pack ignition system? I have a 90 Tbird SC with an Explorer 5.0 swap, using the 96 explorer computer. Hoping I dont have to get an aftermarket EEC.
Ik this is late if your still up for making your car pop, take out your abs fuse. The cons of taking it out would be that your speedometer won’t be working until you put the fuse back in. Make sure you disconnect the battery if you do anything.
In your opinion, would it be suitable to run a turbo in a stock 4200 that was built brand new? Using a lower psi or would a higher be okay? I know the 4200 has a lower compression ratio. I know there are a few variables as well
My 4200 is completely stock other than valve springs. I've run as high as 17 psi. I think the key is using ethanol. It helps the engine live in my opinion. Also keeping the timing out of the mid range helps the rods live.
@@carstenreinbold5523 So you would run more conservative timing around 2000-4500 RPM, and then roll it in above 4500. I am running an flex fuel. It is about 70% ethanol, and 30% gas. You can buy it right from Sheetz.
That is why I own a vehicle with a manual transmission. All automatics are known to have a rev limiter built in the ECM. The ones with a manual don't. I know when to keep the revs in my motor so I don't break it.
I love the idea of using the transistors. Altho my understanding is the transistor will amplify the input signal. Altho the input "fire" signal for the coil isn't an AC waveform is it, it's just a DC pulse? So your input for the fets is +vdc coming from your shift light, once it hits it's "flash" rpm, it will kill the main +vdc to the fets. My concern is the flash signal from the shift light will be a pulse signal I.E the led flashes for shift instead of staying solid "on" . Great project & has me thinking

Basically all the relay board is doing is disconnecting the signal from the ECU that commands the coils to charge. It's like you took all the plugs to your coils and unplugged them simultaneously, but only above a certain RPM.
So having a switch to ground coils to chassis wouldn't be the same thing? This board brings power to the coils and with shift light disconnects the relays everytime it lights up. Shift light being the signal wire for relays. Still looking for a relay that looks similar. Most I'm coming across are for LEDs and 5v.

That takes a valve body programmed to "hold" 2 bands, then release a band. You have to buy the hardware.

Why no turbo blanket? They make titanium ones just like your exhaust wrap now. Contain alllll the exhaust heat

It's possible. All you are really doing is cutting the command to the coil off based on the tach signal.

Yeah. Any engine. Just set your shift light to 4 cylinder mode.

You might be able to. The problem is the RPM value that you set on the MSD will not be accurate.

Like I said in the video, it will work with any coil on plug setup. You just need a shift light that's reads accurate rpm for your engine.

If you can intercept the signals to the coils and get an RPM signal it's possible. Your computer may throw all the codes at once, but it should work.
