Side note largest tire you can fit in the stock spare location is a 33.
Does it rub?
@@DARKWOLF-td1lw its in the spare tire location. Why would it rub?
I love this didn't even think about that
Always wondered that. Wonder if that’s the same for TAHOES
@@criticalpanda6172 My borla exhaust is VERY close to the stock OEM tire. I wouldn't want the spare rubbing or too close to the exhaust.
Finding American Trucks has been a blessing and a curse. Just bought my first truck, a 2014 Silverado 1500. Already ordered running boards, and a leveling kit. Now I want 33s and wheels.. you guys provide great information and am loving the site!
Noise? Your stereo along with your loud exhaust pipes will take care that.

Haha!
F*ck yes
Thought I was gonna learn something, welp I was wrong 😂
Man great video and presentation on the basics of upgrading wheel size. I'm all about mellow 2" suspension lift with 33 all terrain. Low profile but still looks good and can do some off road.
IF you want a quiet ride, buy a prius.
Tesla
I road in both a prius and telsa recently, and on the highway their cabin is louder than my truck with meats.
A Rainbow 🌈 car lamo
Subscribed exactly what I was looking for , thanks for the effort.
That 2015 is a bad mamma
Love it
Just put some 285/70/17s on my 09 Silverado and they are rubbing at full turn! Time for a 3.5 inch lift 🙌🏼
This channel is actually a really good idea. Perfect for the guys who don’t know much about builds but want to know how to make the truck look good. Love it
I did the 3in level kit and had 20x10 -24 offset and mine fit just fine. I did have to trim a little bit of plastic but they fit
yes....really wished you would have shown what the 35 looked like when you swapped them for the 33
I have bigger than factory tires on my 05 Sierra. I had to do some trimming of fender walls and front bumper plastic. But they fit. Went from 31×8 to 32.5" ×10.5" I believe were the measurements. I might be slightly off on that but I know I'm enjoying my all terrains.
Great video. Can you do a similar one with using a 2017 jeep grand cherokee with the leveling suspension. What's the largest tire (33") can you use stock.
I have a '17 GMC Sierra AllTerrain with a 3" leveling kit and running 35x12.5 General Grabber RED letters on the stock 20's. I have ZERO issues
I have a 3” body lift on my 94 with the torsion keys cranked and clear 35s no problem without trimming
This is REALLY helpful. Thanks!
We're glad it helped out, Devin! Thanks for watching! -Zach
I have an 07 nbs silvy with ultra maverick +25 wheels. I have a 3.5 inch rough country lift with upper control arms ready to gonin. I increased the distanced just barely to make sure I have stock ish look with my lift/level. I also pull a camper once in awhile so I made sure after hooking up the camper to measure frame distance from the ground and with this lift kit will make my truck much more level than the typical leveling kit with a tow package in the back that is a distribution hitch. It's gonna ride solid in a couple weeks. When I get bored with the non vertex. I'm gonna get solo vertex so I can adjust for daily driving and adjust the rear for when I'm ready to tow across the midwest. Gonna get em for the rear only though. Don't need em for the front but I do have the 1500. So I may add another leaf spring for enhanced comfort while towing. I'm gonna figure that out later.
Well explained my man. I just wished to see the 33's on the 6"in lifted truck.
Great Review! i have some few questions, is it possible to use bigger and wider tire on my stock rims? I'm currently using 265/60 R18. I'm PLANNING to put 285/65 or /70.
Great information
I think a clarification is in order here. The mods you made for the 35s produced no rubbing during unloaded normal driving. Load the truck bed or expect a lot of movement from the suspension with those minor mods= trouble. Also, going from a 31 to a 33 only adds 1 inch under the "suspension" as you say, but most people will catch that and it's not a huge deal. Overall thanks for the video, some good info.
#1Lazer I have a 08 with 6 in lift and 35 and I've put 2000lb and drove 1200 miles just fine
Great job so I got 2002 GMC Envoy I have a suspension lift think about a body lift have a 3in suspension lift and I have ko2 tires but I want to get Big O Tires in the front so I had to do mine a modification so with bigger tires I haven't even have to make even more modification put great job on your videos
2016 z71 running 33 on 20's get the correct back spacing on your after market rims and you will be fine . Customer offsets great site lots of imfo.
I love that 33s setup! Including the truck!
Wish you would have shown what the 2014 looked like with the 35" on it.
You can run 35s with a 6 skyjacker I'm running 37s on the 7.5 skyjacker
He did at the end
Thanks for this video
Thanks a bunch for watching! -Zach
Just upgraded to 33s from stock on a Rough Country 3.5" level/lift. I will attempt to go to 35s with new set of wheels when the time comes.
How did it go???
I just put a 2.5" level on my 17 Silverado. If I was to get larger wheels/tires what would be the best choice for me? I was going to buy regular rims to put on my stock tires but didn't know if I could put a larger tire on a 17×8 rim. Thanks for the help anyone.
Still waiting to see how to fit larger tires on my chevy.
I have a 2014 sierra crew cab with a 2 inch level. I just put on 305 55 R20 with 20X9 wheels. They fit great with very slight rub at full lock turn. However I was told that my ball joints will need replacement because of the 33s. Should I get new control arms?
I'm going down size to 33 from 35 for road trips . Keep the 35 around for the monthly camping trips but for daily driven I'm looking at 285 or 33 . I'm going be two tire man ! V ! 2
I’m thinking of a 4” BDS high clearance lift with a 2”-3” long travel kit with 34” tires, why has nobody done this?
My GMC came with 275-55-20 that are 31.9" tall I want to do 33" tires seems like 1.1" more would fit. since we are talking .550" taller from edge of rim to tread. what do you think?
2014 Silverado with 3" body lift, 35x12.5 on the stock 19" rims fit just fine.
Had to trim anything? Looking to do the same set up on my 2018
@@romancastro2651 Didn't have to trim anything. At full turn and a bump (backing out of driveway) there is a little rubbing, but nothing outside of that specific scenario.
Good video thanks 4inch lift with 33" here I come!
I fit 33” tires on 20” rims under my 2016 silverado with just a level kit and had no rub issues until I put wheel spacers on it to give it a better look
Chuck Kolancz about to try that. Plan on getting new tires this week. Have a two inch leveling kit on it so I might try to squeeze 33s on
Chuck Kolancz what type of leveling kit 2 or 2.5
Ivan Chavez I think 2.5”
Are your tires mud or a/t? I wanna do the same Are your wheels 20x10 too?
They’re nitto terra grappler g2’s. 20x10 rim I think. 275/60/20 tires. Had a tad of rub the first few weeks full cranked going up hill
I’ve got a 2001 f150 4x4 and can fit 35 on stock suspension and 12 wides with 33 with no scrub at all
Hey guys would I have to upgrade my brakes if I put 22" or 24" rims on a 2011 Yukon with 17" rims??? Also what front and rear shocks would you recommend for said truck with factory suspension setup
How about a stock diameter 31" tire but wider and offset outwards ?
I commute with my '08 Sierra 4x4 to work and pull a 29' 5th wheel toy hauler.
I want the look but don't want to kill the utility of the truck.
I have already installed a Rough Country leveling kit in the front and 3" fender extensions.
Any ideas??
Could you fit 33s on a 20x10 on stock 2014 sierra with 2in level would that make a combined 5in higher than stock?
ok, I could use some advice
I have a 2017 F-150 that came with 17 in wheels and the tires are 245 70
The easy change would be to get the Ford 20 in wheels that come on the STX model
Most of the tires I see in 20 in are just 50 or 60 series
Why is that
Also, how do I find the Offset and Back Spacing on my Factory 17 in wheels?
This is critical as I want to change the Offset negative 1 to 1.5 inches or so
This will let the new wheel be that much wider
Also, how can you learn how much Back Spacing vs Offset you can have on your truck without
getting a rub at wheel lock without buying a wheel for test fit
James
2007 Silverado Classic 1500 LT Extended Cab 2WD with coil front end, stock 17x7.5 Offset +31mm Star Wheels, Stock Tire is 245x70xR17. Without adding a leveling or lift kit or body mods, what will fit without rubbing, I'm looking to have MTs in back and STs up front due to no power at front wheels.
I do not necessarily want a ultra wide tire but a taller tire.
If I added a 3-4 inch front lift?
6-8" front lift?
I intend on keeping the rake so if I have a 3-4 front lift I have a 6-8 inch rear, and if i have a 6-8 inch front the rear will be 10-12 inch.
Thanks for this video! I plan on buying that exact Rough Country 7.5” suspension lift for my 2014 work truck with some 35” tires (haven’t decided what brand yet)
How about the 33' on the 2500hd trucks that are lifted from factory. Would they still rub? In trying to find some for my 2010 silverado. But I dont want any rubbing or problems
So if I got a 2015 with a 3inch leveling kit would 33's on a stock 17 clear no problem?
So what is the actual tire size of a 33 inch tire? I’m planning to do the 3inch leveling kit up front and the 2inch in the rear. But I’m just going to be running the factory 18 inch wheels. What size tires do I need?
Will those stocks 17s Newer Version Work Better On a Older Gm/Chevy?
I just need to know with a 06 Chevy with a 4” suspension lift could it clear 33” tires without rubbing without having to trim?
So I bought a 03 Silverado and has a 6in lift kit on 35 of those same tires. I want to lower it to a 2in. I need to know what needs to change after this, size of tires, rims, etc. any help will be appreciate
I’m running 40s on my 2015 with a leveling kit. Minor trimming
What offset though?
Will the 33 and 35 fit without a lift kit?
I have 35 in tires on my stock 17 silverado 1500. with a 2.5 in lift. waiting to add the 5 in maxtrac lift
Now. How about the 33's on a 2500HD stock suspension. Would the rub against the fender or not? 2500HD suspension its higher than the normal 1500.
Challenge accepted, 35 short courses on a tahoe with front 3 in spindles, rear 2.5 in coil lift and a 1in coil spacer and -12 offset wheels and alot of fun with a sawzall 😈
I have 285/75R18s which are basically a 35" tire on a 2016 with a 4" BDS lift and with factory midnight edition wheels and it fits with only trimming a bit of plastic.
Those skinnier (in comparison to 305s or 315s) tires definitely help resist rubbing despite their height! Glad to hear your success with the setup! -Zach
What is the tallest tire I can install on a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab Z71 stock truck no lift ? Right now I have 265-70-17 and would like to stick with stock 17 inch rims. How about 255-80-17 would they work ? I do not need wider just want more ground clearance for off road.
I wanna see wheel tire options for chevy c3500
This info vid, is it applicable to 15-20 suburban?
I just wanna know where to find those smoked headlights that are on the white All Terrain...
I maybe childish for asking but I plan getting a 6-7in lift and wanna run 33s with 20x9 or 20x10 cause really I like the stance. Please reply with personal opinions!
Just my personal opinion from a noob looks wise.. I think 35s look better with that large of a lift.
Can I fit 35" A/T tires on a 4.5 inch BDS Lift on a 2012 Silverado Z71 CrewCab ??
Will 34 inch tires fit on a 2015 Chevy silverado 2500HD with a 4 Inch lift kit?
My GMC 1500 Sierra came with 275- 55- 20, (31.9" tall) the wheel well looks like i would have no problem with 33" tire with the same +24 off set.
Can you put 33 on stock rims with a 2” lift in front ?
Where did u find the adjustables for the 2011?
I have a 1996 GMC truck I have a two inch lift what size rims and tires do I need so they won't rub
You just helped a 15 year old find mods for his future truck, o'l blue, o'l blue was grandpa's 85 chevy silverado, and he sold her, she was my fav truck, but I'm gonna get a blue k20 or a silverado of that exact year
# bloodyfist sentimental value will keep you poor, unfortunately it’s a problem many of us have spending money on love and memories, I read the rich dont care for sentimental value lol
James Ortmann Yep!
Screw the rich. K20s are great trucks and money doesn't buy happiness. Jacked up Chevys on the other hand....
What is that black piece called on the blue silverado, behind the front tire? My truck had these removed and I want to put them back on, but am not sure what they're called?
What change in the speedometer this tires make?
I have a 06 Chevy 2500hd with a 2.5 inch life with 35’s they really do not rub that much, the front bumper plastic had to be cut about half an inch and now they don’t rub the front, on the back of the wheel well when you put stress on the suspension then you will have a little rub. So yes you can put 35’s on a small lift.
What’s the biggest tires I can put on me stock 2005 Silverado with new 20x8.5
Jose Vasquez z71 ?
I have a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Z71 4x4 crew cab. It came stock with 265’s. Last week I put a 2” leveling kit on it. I then bought 18” Fuel “Assault” rims on it. I then put 285’s on it that were BF Goodrich TKO-2 All Terrain tires. The shop I went to was very knowledgeable and ordered the Fuel Assault wheels without any negative offset so the tires would not rub even if the tires are at full lock. I absolutely love the look of the truck now. The speedometer is only 1mph off at speeds above either 40mph or 50mph. The speed limit on the freeway next to our town is 75mph so even going 85mph showed my actual speed was 86mph. My fuel economy has not changed any at all either. That actually surprised me. I thought for sure that I would lose 1 to 2 mpg going from 265’s (31” tires) to 285’s (33” tires). If anyone wants to see pics of my setup, I’ll be more than happy to email anyone pics of the truck and how it looks now.
anyone know if -12 offset will fit with 33s with 3" lift and leveling kit??
With a 9 inch lift would I be able to put 37s?
How did the 33s ride compared to the 31. Jittery or softer than oem.
I got 42inch tries on a 4inch lifted jeep 2017 with a 5.7 hemi rides great
i have a 2015 1500 4 in lift and i have 35s and they dont rub at all and im thinking i might fit 37s
Just put 34s on my stock 2020 2500 with no problem.
Ihave a 4.8l 2012 v8 1500 my tires are 275 55 R 20 what size can i put on my truck looking for bigger A/T but not big dnt wnna lift it just yet
What size leveling kit?
Will 33's fit on a 2008 Chevy avalanche with a 3.5 RC lift kit without rubbing?
I had a 98 silverado with 31.5 lifted it 1 inch in the rear and 2 in the front and i was happy.after seeing this my ego is on the ground 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Most have the anemic 3:42 gears. 4:11's are much better when you go taller.
i got 33/12.5/R20 on my 05 chevy suburban with no lift just had to torque the bars up and they dont rub any
I have a 2017 1500 LT Chevy Silverado, what is the largest tire, that looks aggressive on stock rims and no lift. I don't want to make any lift mods yet but I want meaner looking tires. 18inch rims. Please help?
Can anybody tell me the biggest size tire that will fit on a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 leveled extended crew cab? Thank you
What i need to do to fit 33 on my factory 15in rally 1993 chevy Cheyenne
Something no one seems to address:
When you trim to eliminate rubbing DOESN'T mean
you will clear when you are driving and actually using those shock absorber thing-a-ma-jig things
on the front.
Just a note
I’d like to see the white truck with 33s on it. Don’t need a drive, just a look. Have you ever done this and have pictures?
I’d be interested to see the fuel mileage after throwing the 33s on
I’ve got a 2013 with a 2.5” level and 33’s fuel mileage dropped to 14-15 with half city & hwy. straight hwy road trip I pushed 16-17pretty easily. All hand calculated
I have a 2000 GMC Sierra with 33’s on a 2 inch leveling kit . My shit dropped to at least 17 mpg highway haha . Totally worth it!
They still rub a little
There was no mention of gearing in this video. Wheel size and gearing can effect gas mileage and power, and should be taken in to consideration.
Who buys a lifted truck for fuel mileage
How do you account for bigger tires without screwing up your speedometer or odometer? Or do people just deal with the small misreadings?
Plenty of companies make tools to recalibrate the ECU so it knows what tire you are running.
Dang…so I was debating whether to go big or go home with a lift, or keeping my 2014 Silverado stock. Just bought some 33x12.50 Kenda Klevers to dress her up. Certainly need a lift now after seeing that inner rub 😅
hello I am French and I speak English very poorly I just bought a silverado 2016 4x4 z71 crew cabin equip in 22 inch wheel oem I will want to put a kit 3 inch in front and 2 inch behind what size of rim do you advise me and what size tire ?? Tengo una Tahoe 2007 con el kit de 3in en frente y 2in a tras le quedarían unos 20s x 12...!
just bought some open country At3’s 285/50/22 - Stock is 275/50/22 they some how are a little over an inch wider. any one know what fits without hitting the upper control arms? (stock rims) I need to know if I need a small spacer. (2019 Sierra 1500 with a 2 inch level factory 22”)
35s won’t fit on a 3 inch lift ? Challenge accepted 😂
Jose Solis have fun trimming the hell out of the fenders and still have rubbing.
Jose Solis offset is king. I have 35s on my 2016 sierra with a BDS 4" lift and bearly rub at full lock on the stock 20" all terrain wheels.
I have a '17 Sierra AllTerrain with a 3" level kit and running 35x12.5 General Grabber on the stock 20's. I have ZERO issues

i fit 40's on a 4 inch lift lmao
On my 2010 Ford F-150 I run on my stock wheels a 285/75r18 Toyo Open Country AT2 which is roughly 35”x11” on just a 2” leveling kit and never had any issues with the tires rubbing at full lock
