I didn't have a lot of time with it, plus I only had a small pile of gravel to work with, but I did get to test a couple things. Who else has operated one? and what did you think?
We have a 470 up at site, was brand new. I liked it although I found the stick stroke to be too short when pulling into the cab and extending all the way out. Cab was decent. Lots of power.
There'll do okay, theres a place for everything. You want something a bit simpler, essentially a generation or 2 behind the big guys, ideal. I know a guy running a 25 SANY at a gravel pit, it swings back and fourth, takes a beating, and was like 30k less than a big brand machine and he loves it.
Is XCMG the make? Where is it from? This is the first I have ever heard of it. Looks to operate pretty smoothly. What size (300, 330, 400...) would a comparable machine (Cat, JD, Hitachi) equal?
Hi! XCMG is manufactured in China, but the North American models are all made of major components that come from else where, including Cummins engines from the US and Kawasaki Pumps, among others. This unit that Scott is operating is a XE360 (Comparable to the Cat 336), the unit photographed is a XE210 (Like a Hitachi EX200).
I actually really liked it, it has a tier 3 Cummins, tons of power. It's very plane but has all the basic stuff that an operator needs. It could use a bit more swing torque but besides that it's great.
That’s really cool, I always love seeing the new machines that you operate.

I have never ran any XCMG equipment but it looks like a pretty solid and well balanced machine.
Chinese machines in Canada???!!! Holy...! ;-)
About time.
Hope you enjoy it.
XCMG Is not bad, there are good reviews about them in Russia
I'm betting you couldn't have anything bigger bucket full and reach all the way out needs more weight in the rear.only thing wrong with it. I noticed.
What the namr of location...which all are machines are working...
I know nothing about these XCMG's but first impression is they look an awful lot like a LC8 Komatsu inside and out

With how quick it turned it looks like the final drives have plenty of power. How did you like the machine overall?
