From personal experience, Those side camera clips are super tight. There’s a very good chance of breaking the clips when you pull/pish them out of the fender. You have to use a lot of force and you can see the fender sheet metal bend out when you pull and push on the side camera/turn marker.
@@joeycastagnaro as long as it’s same part number it’ll be fine. Keep in mind there are various side repeater cameras so make sure to verify. You can also ask service and see if they would sell you one.
There are times the clip holder can break and if that’s the case, you would need to buy a new fender camera. However, sometimes, it bends and can be bent back into place. If you need to buy one, I would check out tesla parts catalog first - epc.tesla.com/en-US/landingpage
Have you replaced your autopilot signal? We'd love to hear about your removal!
Watched several videos for replacement and THIS was the best by far. Key take away. Attack the clips at the top first.
Glad we could help!
Super easy. Thanks for the clear walk through! The connectors gave me a bit of trouble, but eventually got them off/on
Glad this helped!
Great video instructions
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the straight forward video!! 👍🏽👍🏽
I thought for a second you were going to remove these without going through the wheel well. Almost shit myself
Will you need to rerun the camera calibration after this?
If it doesn’t show up, yes
@@joeycastagnaro the other way is to reset DAS on service mode and it will pop back up.

Good point. Definitely need to be careful with the clips
Woow! Great video! Thank you so much!
I have PPF on my Model Y. Can I still put blue tape surrounding the repeater without the risk of the PPF lifting when I peel the tape off?
Yes! The blue painters tape is gentle.
Do you have a recommendation on where to buy the replacement camera? Source and part number for driver side left fender camera.
You would either have to be a shop with EPC parts catalog or go through the service center. You can buy from eBay but can be a bit sketchier.
@@tesbros would you be able to sell me one?
No, we don't have that kind of access unfortunately
@@tesbros are there specific concerns with purchasing on eBay that make it sketchy? Not sure if these are commonly counterfeited

Can you rebuild the top clips? Mine shaved off and now the top won't clip in. 😢 Just gotta buy a new camera somewhere?

It would be easier if you turned the wheels to the right and wrap your hand with a fabric.
Do you have to power the car down before pulling cameras/turn signals to ensure a code isn't thrown? Thanks!
Yes, that's always a good practice when removing anything
@@tesbros thank you! Could you do a video on power downs?
That's a great idea! For now, maybe this will help: www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_us/GUID-E75DB1EC-A705-4784-9983-DE677D1BF7C1.html
