Nice comparison but the quality of your mic is quite unacceptable for a video where you compare 2 audio devices. You're voice is super distorted, sounds like your gain was too high or something
Hi, thanks for your feedback, my voice is recorded through a condenser mic which meant to record full spectrum including any lows (bass) this may sound distorted if you are listening to it on a phone or earphones that can't handle bass, check it on proper speakers and you will notice there is no distortion. I understand most people watch reviews on hand held devices so I will bear this in mind in the future.
@@shaktastik I know I said quality of your mic but what I should have said is sound quality of your voice over. It really is distorting quite a bit, even on my studio headphones. Lower frequencies don't really distort on phone speakers either.
Nice review. Bought the WiFI at Costco in the US for $119. BT connectivity is improved. Pairs instantly each time with the latest firmware. WiFi is useful with Airplay and using it with the Alexa ecosystem. Really wish it had a mic to use as a smart speaker and phone calls. One big plus of using WiFi over BT is the latency is a lot less. I also noticed it sounded better after I used it for a few hours. I don't know if it needed any break in or burn in but it is definitely sounding better. The 3 band EQ is also very handy and better than nothing especially since Apple doesn't let you tweak anything on the phone. After first buying it I was a little disappointed in it bu that more I've used it , I've realized I am going to keep it. I'd like a bit more bass but in this form factor it is to be expected and I don't want to have something much bigger to tote around. I found a nice bike mount and I am using it when I ride. I found a silicone sleeve with a handle for the normal Charge 5 that works and I can attach a strap as well and this works pretty well but the strap is junk so I bought a better one. At the current Costco price is it absolutely worth it. I am going back to buy another today and pair them in stereo.
I agree with staying with the original charge 5, just for the party boost and price. You can buy 2 charge 5 's for the price of one wifi. And get twice the sound. Thanks for the comparison.
You missed the whole point to have the wifi connection. You can actually use it to stream music from your phone or PC without annoying anyone with the sound of your phone when you use it simultaneously to scroll, send messages or receive calls. Is this worth the price gap and the loss of party boost? It depends on what you want to do with it. The base charge 5 is basically an external speaker for a phone, and I don't want my speaker to emplify every sound my phone make, only what I want.

Please use next time a better mic.
Thanks for your feedback, another person mentioned this, there is nothing wrong with the mic, I was a little too close to it and it picked up my voice with a little bit of bass, when I listened back to it on my speakers it sounded great unfortunately this hasn't worked great on phones with small speakers and earphones, try to listen to it on your desktop speakers and report back please, that said I'll remember next time to test it on phones first. Cheers.
this definitely sounds like it's clipping. Listening on home PC with good bookshelf speakers.@@shaktastik
New wifi jbl speakers loose Partyboost. Big downgrade . It is now WIFI boost - work only for WI-FI jbl speakers, only throw Wi-Fi , by new JBL One application and is not compatible with old Bluetooth Party Boost. This is portable speakers without portable party connection. Shame to JBL
Hot audio mic warning pls:) I think the winner is jbl go 1
Terrible review. Does the WiFi give a noticeable improvement in sound quality or not?
