“If you think being in the music business is hard then you don’t know what hard is” - wise words from Amy. I absolutely fkn love this band 🖤
"...its pretty cushy not like being homeless or anything" She's the most down to earth rock musician ever.
Amy is a dynamo I like her she’s a throw back to the days of raw high energy music
She reminds me of Iggy Pops daughter or something
Reminds me of Chrissy Amphlet in 1982 when Divinyls put out their album "Desperate". Intense and awesome.
She's Wendy O. Williams-esque... really dig this band!
@@SaberToothGary yayayyayaya
She totally reminds me of Cherie Curry. Great energy for sure.
The real deal right here. Saw them this last weekend in Chicago...it was one of the best performances I've seen. The world needs bands like this.
I was born in 500BC and I love this group!
It’s good to see you young folks enjoying this type of music. Amyl and the Sniffers remind me of the bands I loved back in the day in Akkad. We used to do road trips on donkeys for days to get into a good concert. Back then it cost a half measure of barley to get into a show and you got a pot of beer and a free concert sackcloth on entry.
This is a legit punk band in 2019
Punk as fuck. A true feminist. Gives what she gets... Top 3... Misfits, Dead Kennedy's.... Amyl and the FUCKING Sniffers!!!!!;
It was only legit in the 70, s
More Punk than Sex Pistols!
@@Blackheathenly Hardly.😂😂😂
Punk was a movement...this isn't punk....but it is awesome
“I like control, so if I handed it over to them I’d end up like Katy Perry or some shit” Amy Taylor
Quote of the century!
Hahaha.love that.funny.but so true.
Love their lack of pretense. Amy wasn’t even too cool to ask what catharsis means. their music is sick too. Another great aussie band!
@Rowan Melton do some more research buddy!
@Rowan Melton These guys actually woke me up to the plethora of awesome music that has come out of Australia. I have literally thousands of records, but hardly anything out of Australia, but now that's changing.
@@PokeySoggybottom Not even Cosmic Psychos?
@@ihrstinkt100 agree, cosmic psychos keep putting out great albums
@@PokeySoggybottom check out Sydney band The Hard Ons. Been around 20 yrs plus.
Love everything about these guys! Amy is a natural rock goddess, and duuuude, Declan has seriously great guitar chops too. 100% a FAN!!! Exactly what the punk scene needed to break free from the very stale skate-punk stereotype IMO.
" We fucken meant it when we did it " Amy is authentically Awesome
"It always feel good to scream..otherwise they'll lock you up..."
Amy is a dynamo.
Declan shreds
“Back me up”
“Whu- you want me to do a beat?”
“No, tell em im good”
“Yeah, she’s really good” 🤣😂
Went into the local record store & the owner popped the album on, I was hooked straight away....great band
Omg Declan's hair is gorgeous and beautiful.
Saw them in Montreal in a tiny club, best live gig I've seen in a long time. Unbelievable energy.
she gets it from her angles
So good to hear xRaySpex cited as an influence. Really love this band, they remind me of The Dickies with their energy and focus. Amyl and The Sniffers are making England sit up and notice in admiration. Total respect
Absolutely
Absolutely Genuine- Fantastic Artist , great vib! GO AUSSIES! Thank you Amyl and the Sniffers
They time traveled from the 80s and I like it
Yup with the keyboards and the drum machine
@@punkisinthedetails1470 no
@@pablogates5355 I was joking about the keyboards and the drum machine.
Restored my faith that music isn't just a horrible plastic bore now. These are like on a wave of a renaissance of real music I am chuffed to discover is happening with a whole younger generation and it's a major relief for me because it was really looking bad for a while.
Totally well said. Yes I felt like this too till I discovered them. They're ace , raw, straight up punk rock. I love Amy 🤟
shes just so fucking cool like genuinely, raw. talented cool, you don't get that cool nowadays
omg - she's the real thing! I thought she was playing the part. Sweet.
came up on my recommended...like what I'm hearing from this band and in this interview...Amy asking the interviewer "what does catharsis mean?...there's no bullshit here...she's the genuine article....good to see punk in 2019
Just got into this band and i love em and after watching this i'm even more into them as Amy said she has started to listen to X-Ray Spex. What a shame she can't ever get to see them (R.I.P Poly). I was lucky and did. What a breath of fresh air this band is .
She’s out of her mind and I love it.
“Getting free alcohol is cool” fuckin right my man. These two are awesome. Love the band
Im in my 50s and think these guys are great I didnt think i would ever get to hear real music again.............
I'm 48, yes it is really amazing!!
hahaha Im 51 I was thinking the same thing.
I am in my 50’s too and I got to see them -standing up front too.. so amazing they give me energy!
Amyl and the Sniffers and Starcrawler.. my favorite two bands right now.
...They remind me of a modern, female Iggy & the Stooges! Love the energy, & Raw Power! I'd love to catch one of their shows! If your a fan of the Stooges your gonna love these guys! 100% pure Rock n' Roll!
You got it man! I love Amyl, she’s a pure energy. Just like Iggy.
Finally a band that got me into punk
She really reminds me of Chrissy Amphlett … Chrissy just grabbed the mic with both hands…arms extended and she would just wail. Amy is a stage presence and wonderful that they are both from Australia. Dig the music! 🤘🤘🤘
This!! YES!!!!
Only just discovered these. Best thing to come out of Aus in a long time and I'm an ancient punk.
One of the most genuine bands out there.
Amy is one of my new favorite people.
I checked out Drunk Mums and The Cosmic Psychos on their recommendation and, holy shit, that's some great stuff! There's heaps (gotta say that word with an Aussie accent!) of Cosmic Psychos full albums here on RUclips, as well as some Drunk Mums, and they've taken over my cycling playlist as I tear up the streets of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan! Friggin' rights!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep Cosmic Psychos promoted on their IG: instagram.com/p/CAr_ry5hIJN/? | Well worth checking out
@@leonpfields9100 That was wicked! Thanks a lot!
Private Function.
Check out the 6 min clip of better not bitter by the cosmic psychos.
Fair dues to the interviewer, some good considered questions. Loving the new album!
She's like a female Bon Scott .
GrooberNedJardine that’s a perfect analogy
Funny you say that they just played the highway to hell festival in Perth dedicated to ACDC
With elements of Wendy O. Williams and Polly Styrine!
Bonnie scott
She's pure 70s Melbourne Sharpie chick.
Amy reminds me of Cherie Currie from The Runaways 🖤
Kind of just discovered them. Damn these guys are so damn awesome. Love them. Damn!
Amy and the boys have the energy of an aussie❤, -your fellow American
AMY AND THE SNIFFERS ! ARE TOTALLY FANTASTIC ! ALLAN LUVS YA !
Thank you face culture for this fine interview
Yeah, this guy is a cracking guitarist.
Big Love & Respect! Top sounds and top people! Greetings from France! Xx❤️🐕
best band nowadays
Amy is a musical genius, on a par with the best.
This band is gonna be huge!
Just saw your comment made 2 years ago. You were right so far. Opening for the foofighters. Def growing in popularity. Just discovered em, fkn breath of fresh air!
It's funny hearing Declan talk about his guitar work, because you do hear it, and even when it's great, it's still a bit shit, but in this, just, raw, honest, going just past the limits of his skills kind of way, that's just perfect for the band. I hope no matter how skilled he gets, he always plays just a little bit harder than he actually can, so it never loses that feel of being just a little bit shit. The Sniffers wouldn't be the same if they weren't just a little bit shit :p
Truth. It's the hardcore influence. Needs to be a bit shit to sound great, and they sound great because it's the perfect amount of shit.
not saying that they’re not supremely talented and skilled, but your comment made me think of the quote from 20th century women where abby’s talking about The Raincoats: “They don't have any skill, and they don't Want skill, because it's really interesting what happens when your passion is bigger than the tools you have to deal with it.” again, not to say that he doesnt have skill - but that kind of rawness and dissonance that happens when an artist’s energy and passion outweighs their formal skill (whether intentional or not) to me is what punk Is. and these guys have it in spades.
guided by angels is a good tune.. if they keep assembling progressions similar to that tune they will definitely be a force for inspiration. talented musicians should be recognized..
Declan and Amy, ye are such gorgeous people🇮🇪❤️☘️
Not only are they cool, they're fucking nice and I dig that. Amy is almost kinda sweet, until she explodes on stage, then she's a rock star. Proud to be an Aussie, go Straylya.
Straylya! =) Greetings from Argentina mateeee
Love this band and I definitely want a girl like Amy
That's right a parking of emotion through art
Yep!! I am in love..💕 Amy is too cool
😂 😂 Dec 'I've just learnt you don't want to get on Amy's bad side' 😂😂😂
Fkin love yas all!!! 😍😎
Great interview!
Pure ozzies. Love it.
PROOF POSITIVE, THAT PUNK WILL NEVER DIE!!!!

#LongLiveAmylAndTheSniffers🎸
She reminds me of the early 80s party chicks in high school. I mean that in a good cool manner. Come to Phoenix Az. USA.
There were here in Phoenix last night.
Dale Goodman ... no freakin way. That’s what happens when I’m stuck on the damn Phone all the time. Missing out on life. Damn you IPHONE.
It's great to see punks nowadays.
I can't help but like their music, when your play list needs a perk, drop some Sniffers in there.
Very good interviewer - excellent questions
She's legit like what crazy is when you call someone that In a positive way
That's right and stay in control.Because if someone else has the wheel, they're gonna drive you right off the road.Amy you're smart and pretty like kiss kiss
(Being on stage) It’s just like working at the deli 😂👌
Dec rockin the Toecutter
I wonder how many people will get the reference of Toe Cutters hair do
Wish I could 'like' the video as many times as they say it in the interview
come to Liverpool
Very nice interview😀
If Joey Ramone and Polystyrene from X-ray specs had babies they would probably grow up to make an energetic fun band like this.
Had a great chat with them after after they played at the Brudenell in Leeds 😊👍
It’s good that she understands, and wants to learn more about the business side. She probably learned a thing or two from stories about people like Marc Bolan……..
Super cool
Brain Mannix,s love child right there.
Man this covid period is throwing out diamonds all over the place, i thought Jinjer were the kinda 2020 breakout band until i heard Amy and the Sniffers....
She is fabulous. Dec gets talky when it comes to the craft of musicianship..
all four of yall are mothafucking rock stars
Awesome new band. Anyone else hear stiff little fingers in some of the tracks 🤔
Oh and I'm 54
i loveeeeeeeeeee you amyl
dancing on being condescending ,,, love their vibe
You can't fake being that nice. Iggy Pop is just like that from everything I hear, as was David Bowie.
😂😂 What a great band 👍👍
Amyl IS da bomb, and cool af
diggin these fellas alot.
nowhere on earth will you see as many mullets per square inch as you will in australia.
Not true, this band is an exception, plus we don't use inches here.
@@deaddoll1361 i bin to oz they got mullets all over the place.
I spent all of last year there. Yeah, you'll see the world famous bogan and his mullet here and there, but it's not like an epidemic or anything. I saw way more mullets and lines shaved in the sides of people's heads among Mexican immigrants in Chicago than I ever saw in Melbourne or Brisbane.
Its interesting how she can go from a totally lit up smile to serious in a second, i hope they finally break it big, and o hope they never implode because of fame, money and ego.
I've seen the Ramones, the Clash, and the Replacements. I wanna see these guys play!
I saw yer mum
Wow she loves herself
Come to El paso, texas please!
Hell yeah!
лучшие!
If they come to philidelphia there will be a shared experience.
Does she have a particular australian accent? because it sounds a bit different compared to the accent that he has...just wondering.
L. Blur not really in a regional sense, just a bit more working class, rough around the edges
She’s from Byron Bay Australia. It’s a small coastal town on Australia’s east coast. It’s a country town and she definitely has an old school Aussie accent that you won’t tend to hear in Australia’s cities these days.
Yes. Its called "bogan"
Holey Moley....the thing about being on tour and getting out your energy, your, "anger" versus ordinary life.
I know and recognise that in myself and I return to the boxing gym or marial arts centre that have full contact sparing to, "even", myself out from time to time.
Watch 14.40 to 15.55.
No other music suits the wild Australian nature than Rock n Roll..
She reminds me of a Courtney Love that is likeable for her music and personality.
Gettin all violent... F#$k me she loves the violence (every 5 mins she's on it).. "This c#&ts sick"... She just keeps banging out the quotes! Dunno if top40 radio station interviews are guna be possible if a song takes off😂😂😂
I love the Sniffers but I'm fifty-four now, no more mosh pits for me.😢
i hear ya. Ramones big day out was my last before retirement
would love to bounce but it isn't possible
leo alex you and I both, I’m 50, with recent 4 bypass heart surgery. No more moshpitts for me.
Leo, I was in the pit on Sunday July 7, made it through 3 songs till I was winded. Not bad for a guy that's 56. Felt like I was in a car wreck Monday morning.
ray fostore not bad for 56, I my self could probably handle some skanking slowly around the pit. But that’s as far as I would go nowadays.
Last time i slammed i tore MCL a year ago I am 55
Real deal Aussie bogans.
Luvs, it is bloody lovely (at least in Vera it was). Chizz
I fucking love her
Punks not dead....
