No one is going to recognize these place as a "shop" once you're completed the whole thing! lol My dad told me a joke many a time, as he'd always forgot that he told me already...but anyway, one of them "dad" jokes I guess...he'd tell me that somewhere he fell ill with a furniture disease, where the effects are when your chest falls in to your drawers! LOL You're going to have a whole lot of drawers when you're finished...but dad always related it to the little tummy he had developed. Hope you and Nannie are able to enjoy a lovely weekend...a little bit of rain for tomorrow I hear, but maybe some sun on Sunday too!

Nice having drawers. In the old shop I followed my sons suggestion and put a bench along the east and south wall. Put in drawers instead of shelves so I could reach to the back of the bench and find things. You got one humdinger of a workshop now Mike. 😁😎

A fella can never have to many drawers, ever🙂 smart using the spacer, I think...its coming along nicely! Those pocket hole jig changed my world years ago... I love using them when I can.. good stuff! The whole shop make over is great....

Pretty tense for a bit, but to my total amazement, it fit with no fine tuning needed!! That doesn't happen very often!! I appreciate you watching Nev. Lookin great my friend. These are the jobs that tend to take most of a fellas time. These are why cabinet makers take so long to create their work. Not everyone will take this much care creating a shop bench.Seems you have a plan and yer sticking to it eh. It's great to see your plans coming together. Making a plan and sticking to it is a sometimes rare occurance. Not this time. This is going to be great when done. What's the color going to be ? Someting different than the walls would be nice. I'm not too sure, but I think I will paint it though. Even the mechanical bench should be painted but I was holding off because there really hasn't been a color that struck me yet!! And don't say Green and Yellow because that's John Deere colors and they just won't suit in a Massey Ferguson shop!! LOL Take 'er easy!!

We use a speed square to cut in the way you described, it works well. You are doing a fantastic job of rebuilding your workshop. We will be watching very carefully as you make the draws as that would work well for us too. Even better would be to book you in for rebuilding our workshop next, I am sure you would like a trip to the UK 🙂

I am watching closely as I have to make some similar benches and drawers very soon here on the homestead........making sliding drawers are a challenge for me as I haven't made many.........I like and use pocket screws often but I really like the idea of spacers for the partitions that would save me a lot of trial and error.......thanks for sharing Mike.....

If you are like me, no matter how hard I try, I just cannot seem to get the piece lined up to a pencil mark the same way twice. So the spacers saved my bacon on this one for sure!! Take 'er easy!!

Just a question on the drawers: Does the Stationary drawer not move? What's the point if it doesn't move? Wouldn't that be a good drawer to put pens, pencils and paper instead of it not being used for anything? Other than that it's a great looking bench and you've obviously planned it out well. And I just thought, if I can make a little dished out piece of wood I could put that at the front right hand corner and I could put paper clips in it too!! Wow!! Thanks Craig!!
