My husband and I recently started a travel channel and these tips are SUPER useful. I usually only do photography but I started to get really EXCITED about video. Your videos are simple and practical. I ❤️ easy! Thanks to you I'm getting high, low and looking for objects to film behind. 😁 The slow-mo pony in the sunset was epic! 🌅 Thanks Steve for sharing your talents and inspiring me to get creative. 🎨
Not gonna lie, the epidemic sound sponsorship is really a positive thing. As a beginner I didn't even know such a service existed, and using it has been a positive experience. I appreciate the high quality and relevant sponsorships
Great video! I am getting taken by my wife and daughter this weekend for Father’s Day to Miami, and the Fontainebleau, and am going to practice every technique you recommended. Great video. You started my journey, thank you!
Oh wow the warbling(?) music effect when you went over the water at the end video! Thank you so much for these tips. I'm extremely new to making and editing video. It has been a challenge to learn ways of adding interest to the tutorials I've been working on. The more things like this that I watch, the more I'm able to appreciate the composition, angles, movement and stuff that I see every day.
This is great and thank you so much for creating this video. It is so helpful for making our videos of our hikes more interesting. I am also wondering how I can make our videos of motorcycle rides more interesting.
I have recently started to try my hands on capturing videos and editing and yours is the best content I have come across. Each YT video is packed with loads of information and tips. Just by watching one video I get to learn so many things. Thank you so much. Much love and respect from India!
That is truly one sensational learning video Steve. Thank you so much. You really are an inspiration for me to get out there and experiment and practice more. Keep up the fantastic work!
I am an amateur hobby still photographer, just starting to learn about videography. Currently, even with my practice outings, I find myself somewhat paralyzed about what/how to shoot … even though I am practicing. My problem, I need to pick one or two things and go out and try … adding to my experience!! This video is VERY helpful with ideas. I love seeing the shots as you take them, the multiple takes and then what you used for the final video … I am paying attention to music and sound affects also. Lovely!! Those horses :)
I have recently discovered your channel and have been inspired by your content. Especially your videos that talk about shooting cinematic footage using a smartphone. So much of what you've shown us is shot in these marvelous natural settings, out in the wilderness and in lovely meadows that showcase the beautiful countryside, far away from the densely populated cities. But what I would really like to see you do is a series of videos that show us how to shoot cinematic video...in the city, in urban areas, where the things you shoot are not necessarily beautiful by nature. Concrete, crowds of busy people rushing here and there, the hustle and bustle of city life -- let's see you make that look beautiful. That's my challenge this weekend -- to get out in the city where I live and shoot some video with my iPhone that I can cut together and turn into a fascinating sequence that shows off my home town to the followers of my RUclips channel, giving them a better appreciation for why I love living here. Using my new gimbal (which also happens to be my first gimbal) and an old monopod I've had for years and never thought I'd find another use for, I'm hoping to get out and capture some interesting perspectives that show off the cityscape in ways it's not often seen. I wish I had a drone for this, but I don't. So I'd really like to find some cinematic ways to show off the city. It's easy to get breathtaking shots when you're out in nature. (Well, maybe not "easy," but EASIER.) But it's a whole different type of challenge to create something truly cinematic when you're surrounded by ordinary things like parking garages, big buildings, cars, pavement, bridges, store fronts, shopping malls, etc. I would *love* to see what you could do with that challenge. I wish I had a video of you doing this to watch before I go out this weekend and try to do it myself.
Thanks for the awesome tips very useful ! That moment with the horse is priceless 🤗 you deserve more views brother 💯🔥 best content so far ! Direct to the point :)
I’ve learnt a lot and I’m glad I came across your video and I’ve watched 4 already and counting. Thank you for making it simple to understand and practice
What I really need is a way to shoot smooth video when I'm several miles into a hike and my hands are shaky! That's one of my biggest challenges with getting nice nature b-roll. My videos are often on backpacking trips, and as it is, my pace is so slow trying to get good footage! I love these videos- you give me so many great ideas!! Keep them coming! New subscriber here!
Thank you so much for this I bought tripods and lights and even a green screen cuz I wanted to get in to making videos but programs are expensive I have a couple that were not that expensive to buy off the Google Play Store and I'm also just using my phone if anyone has any suggestions on software please let me know. I know kinemaster is a good app if you pay for premium but I don't have the money right now.
I am a Indian Vlogger i am using all the tips and tricks that you teach You the best Teacher on RUclips I hope i will be a good RUclipsr like you Sir LOTS OF LOVE FROM INDIA
Bula, Steve! Thank you for sharing that tutorial- a big advantage for those with iPhones. Please do a video tutorial using a simple android phone (which is what the majority of us use here in the Fiji Islands 🇫🇯). An iPhone cost as much, if not more than, 2 x two-storey houses + 1 Jeep over here🤦🏾♀️. Subscribed a few video ago and greatly enjoying your content; especially your recommendations on the free video editing apps. 👏🏽♥️🙏🇫🇯
Hi there such technique i do need on making videos. Thank you so much and slowly i really applied it on making my shots. Thank you and looking forward for more ideas.
Love the ponies coming up and messing with you. Oh, and great information on cinematic shots. I’ve learned a lot from your channel over the last year. I’ll be visiting a lot of national parks here in the US this summer and will certainly put your techniques to use. Thanks again for the tutorials.
I love to watch these videos and I often come back to watch them again to refresh and to get inspiration. I am sure I am not the only one doing this. Thank you for these great contents! Hello from the Big Apple! 🍎🗽
After binge-watching all your videos, I'm starting to feel like I should delete every single clip I've ever posted. You somehow manage to make the same places I shoot look like a Hollywood set, while mine look like they're filmed on a potato! 😂 Seriously though, your tutorials are pure gold. I’m going to steal-uh, I mean, *learn*-every technique you use. Thanks for making the rest of us look bad in the best possible way!
Hey @myriafernanda, Your message totally made my day! 😂 Trust me, we've all been there-thinking our stuff looks subpar next to someone else's. But the fact that you're eager to learn and improve is what really matters, so don’t delete those clips! They’re all part of the journey. I’m really glad you’re finding the tutorials helpful. Can’t wait to see what you create next-steal away (I mean, learn) all you want! Thanks for the awesome support

If you're filming with a smartphone, I'd suggest looking into a DJI OM gimbal. They're inexpensive and easy to pack away in a hiking pack.
Thank you for making this video very informative
