    I do a lot of Roadie deliveries in the mornings... My favorite are the CVS pharmacy runs. Very low mileage with a consistent $8-$9 payout. This is a great way to start your morning before hitting lunchtime food deliveries.

    So, the Walmart I work for (OGP… we’re the ones who deal with the delivery drivers, shop for the items, dispense, package, etc)., we only work with Spark and Roadie.
    But another Walmart nearby, which is near one of our DCs, also works with UberEats.
    Because of the holidays, we have been having customers placing MUCH larger orders… both physically AND quantity wise.
    A coworker and I had two dollies worth of groceries (edible and nonedible), plus 3 of the 40 packs of water, two packs of paper towels, and a toddlers bike for a Spark driver. It was a 3 batch delivery run.
    Now, if he actually showed up with a car like mine, it would have been doable… like SANE… but he showed up… with a TINY car… but insisted on taking the order.
    We SHOULD have turned him down, but he insisted on taking the run and somehow managed to Tetris everything into his tiny car. And yes, he kept the eggs safe.
    BUT every order after from that point on, he’s shown up in a larger vehicle.
    If you’re going to take a three batch run, PLEASE have a vehicle that can handle it. A Prius can’t haul a 75 inch tv and 8 40 packs of water.

    I have over 110 trips completed with roadie and out of all them i had two that had good pay out. The two trips that paid over 5.00 a mile was because the customer added a pre tip. Most cases ive used roadie to get gas money heading towards back home. I don't wait to get approved for any jobs. Im usually doing another gig or doing personal errands while i get approved 😅😊

    The fact you have to "bid" to get a roadie order, I hate that. What if I'm too far? What if my rating's too low or I'm too new? What if I have the wrong vehicle? With DoorDash (the delivery job I have), I get an offer and I accept it, boom. It's my delivery now. No bidding, just accept or don't.

    • @m3m683

      You can't treat roadie like a normal gig app, you have to treat it like a redheaded stepchild. While doing other apps open it up and see if something is nearby (under 5 miles) and bid on it, then keep going about your business, if you get accepted cool, as soon as it no longer makes sense to drive to the pickup cancel your bid and bid on something else. Roadie does not like it when people sit in a parking lot and bid for stuff and just wait they want people to use it as intended "hey you're going 20 miles west anyways.... want to put $15 in your pocket and do us a favor?". I open up roadie probably about 10 times per hour and never for more than 5 seconds unless accepted on an order

  • @kdmichalek782
    @kdmichalek782 9 месяцев назад +7

    This is not unusual. Too many people are using the app. I've literally been in the parking lot when I've bid a job and not get accepted. Many times! You can't rely on just this app. Roadie is perfect for multiapping.

  • @darkisato
    @darkisato 2 месяца назад +1

    I got almost 200 gigs and make between 1-200 dollars a day on roadies and I’ll make this statement. Want to get paid? Don’t apply to one or 2 orders at a time. From my understanding u can take up to 3 gigs in a row. I’ve had 3 orders for discount tires driving to different stores and every time I check the app I’ll look for small pill runs that in my way to try to get accepted for. So u might see a 20 mile for 20 bucks, but then in the direction to your end point, u might see a few gigs that 1-5 miles for 8-10 dollars.

    I did my roadie delivery today from Home Depot. I have a pick up truck. It was a large gig went to the customer service desk. They said I have to go to the back because it’s a van order. I went to the back and it was only air vent covers in your house. Four of them that were literally 12 x 6. So sometimes they do get it wrong.

  • @danielnicholson25
    @danielnicholson25 9 месяцев назад +2

    from my experience and observation, Roadie will offer the orders out to everyone BUT like Spark, they go with Proximity first. So if you want the order accepted, you need to be closest to the store and have the other metrics follow. This has worked for me at least. But yeah, Roadie has gone down the tubes too since they started doing the Walmart orders. The only good ones that I have seen are Home Depot orders that need a truck and even those are horrible most of the time.

    I've been activated on Roadie for 2 weeks now. Have been monitoring it almost daily while also doing some part-time rideshare driving. I've only seen about 3 decent offers in the course of those two weeks. Most of them come in around 50-60 cents a mile and about $17 an hour. Made one offer that was not accepted. Thankfully, my part-time rideshare driving has been doing well enough. One more week before I delete Roadie and try something else.

    Roadie is complete garbage. I signed up and attempted to mix it in with regular Uber Eats and Door Dash orders. I finally saw a reasonable offer and put in a request. They denied me. I then saw the same offer reappear so I attempted to get it again. They then deactivated me on the spot. That whole situation was strange first off. Second off, it is idiotic to have to put in a request and wait up to 15 minutes for them to approve or deny. That right there is the one reason not to do it.

    Also, Roadie shows you orders of all sizes regardless of what vehicle you have selected. I have sedan selected and I still see 'huge' labeled offers that require box and pickup trucks. So I think the car plays a role in acceptance of the order, not the ability to see or offer on it.

    I can’t even get anyone when it comes to support. My first delivery the app made no sense. It asked me for the location of where the items were left before it gave me the drop off location. Once there it asked me to scan the items again and take a picture of where I left it, then gave me a hard time passing over the expenses part because there was no parking or anything to reimburse. Suddenly I could mark it as delivered and everything disappeared. The whole time I had been waiting for support to respond and they never did. So confusing!!!

    Yesterday, I offered on a gig at around 5:30am. It stayed in pending status for more than an hour and they raised the payout twice and I was still in pending status. Around half an hour later, I submitted an offer for another gig that stayed in a pending status for more than a half an hour and saw the payout rise in that one as well. I never did get either gig. I was relatively close for both gigs, have a vehicle capable of handling both, and, supposedly, there is nothing in/on my account that would prevent me from getting those gigs. But anytime I submit an offer on a single delivery location gig for more than $30, I don’t get it. A 14 stop prescription delivery, no problem….
    Support just keeps saying “the algorithm….blah blah blah…. “ But it makes no sense that I’m pending and they raise the payout multiple times and then give it to someone else.

    Roadie introduce a new feature called Block in which you pick zones you want to accept deliveries in that area and they set up time slots available for certain days of the week and you can be places on the waitlist if that schedule block is full. I tried it last month and it was interesting because they assign you certain deliveries automatically. Right now they paused it because they want to improve or something.

    I've been doing roadie for a year now. And at first it was going pretty good and it was worth my time. But somewhere along the line my offers that rejected more and more often. I would take the little offers at first and they would lead to bigger offers but now that doesn't seem to be the formula. When I put in for an offer they usually take over 15 minutes to get a decision and most of the time it's retracted so lately Rhody has not been worth it at all it's just a pain in the butt and it's unnecessary wear on my car.

    Roadie’s set up makes no sense I find sometimes they will pick you for gigs that are the furthest, the only benefit I see with the app is that in my state they pay extra for mileage. It’s still a hard application to run regularly because of wait times (for gigs) it almost feels like you have to try for a the gigs available at once in order to get consistent work. Also they ask you if you have extra equipment IE dolly’s furniture movers and things like that but you are never guaranteed to get those larger gigs, I drive a truck and get constantly accepted for small gigs that can be taken care of with a small car. The application does not seem to adjust itself at all for the vehicle you drive its kind of annoying especially when they “certify” you by making you take pictures of your “extra equipment” and submit them. It’s frustrating to have all this extra equipment IE tie downs dollys and furniture moving gear on me and never have to use it.

    Yes, that happens even if you have 700, 5 stars on the platform. Doesn't matter how many 5 stars you have. If roadie doesn't want to accept you they won't accept you I spent 3 days without getting accepted. Somedays, I've earned 15 dollars. Roadie limits your earnings. For example if you earned 700 dollars in 5 days they stop accepting you on gigs this often occurs.
    Also my phone bars go down all of a sudden when roadie doesn't want to accept me on gigs and also when I'm trying to offer a gig and roadie want to accept me my bars a through the roof and get accepted. I don't know if anyone else has witness this aswell. Please let me know. If roadie messes with our internet band as well 🤔

    I started my gig'n with Roadie, they really aren't set up to make a living, only filler, I've done 318 orders total, their airport runs of which was my original reason for signing up start at about .50 a mile and surge as time goes by, but surprising to me they usually get taken b4 reaching .75 a mile, unexplainable why ppl take these? they are enabling the ridiculous pay, I've taken some for fun to take a random road trip, the Best Buy orders are also gross, weaving all over town paying .50-.75 a mile, Home Depot is marginally better, Walmart orders in this area seem to be just big TV's, Spark handles the smalls, so they just landed CVS national account which used to be Shipt, these are great fillers and surge quickly to provide them better service, occasionally a wait at the pharmacy but not terrible, pays $9-15 usually for 2-4 miles, this is the only reason I open the App anymore, owned by UPS the customer service is terrible and so is the pay, there's an opportunity to improve this with the ownership, hoping they do some day?

The other day orders were popping like crazy and STUPIDLY I offered on several (4-5) so I could combine them. I literally had 16 HUGE bags ( many weighing 75 + lbs) in my van. It took about 3 hours to complete the gig and made OVER $30 + an hour. It is AFTER Christmas week so it was a bit crazy. FYI…it kicked my butt honestly. I am 66 years old and in good shape but it was ROUGH. No one tips for delayed luggage. In my opinion the luggage/airport gigs COMBINED are the only gigs worth my time.

      Who gets the couch out of the vehicle? Sounds like a stupid question but I’m a woman with a van and can do this type of work if I don’t have to lift over fifty pounds. Thanks for the reply 😊

    Some Roadie support or pit crew are not professional and they don’t know how tough it is to deliver items to recipient.

    Here's my advice for Roadie. Use only if you have to. Support is a complete joke and they'll cancel orders on you after being accepted with zero information why. if you don't respond in 4 minutes to their chat they will close it on you and you start all over. You wait an hour for them and they give you 4 minutes. Their new chats do not bring up notifications either. if you back out of the chat session to check for more gigs, you have to go through their chat bot again to get back to the chatting screen. It's like they don't want you to get help.

    My experience is totally different. I make 200 a day and don’t do a lot of driving. I do Home Depot deliveries in my area. I have work under 8 hours. I drive a minivan. Also I master my market and have experience with roadie. I know how to filter the BS and do trips that are worth it. Also Roadie give you 45 minutes to get to a stop after getting accepted so you can multi app. Keep sleeping on Roadie please. 😂😂😂

    Sometimes with Rhodie i drive towards the bid I submitted and might get the gig. Maybe like Uber radar others are bidding too. So I multi app and whoever responds with best Gig offer I go with. Rhode bids you can remove yourself from or cancel an offer

    the only gigs on Roadie worth taking are the CVS orders. 10-12 bucks for 2-3 miles the rest of it is a joke
    the tire deliveries are a striaght 50 cents/mile ONE WAY
    yes, just started getting some Walmart gigs via Roadie
    also now getting Lowe's orders via UE
    Walmart losing a fortune on deliveries. they getting desperate to figure it out
    I delivered 2 bags of hershey kisses last night from Walmart, via Uber Eats 8 miles for $37. who is paying for this nonsense?
    i feel like I am being trolled half the time. half the orders a couple bucks for 20 miles, the other half 30,40,50 bucks for 8-10 miles

      Trunk largest order.
      Back seat and back floor board next largest order.
      Front seat and floorboard smallest order.

    Roadie is great. The only thing that sucks. Is that if you’re somebody who’s attentive to the app and always checking it it’s not first come first serve when a job pops up you could be the first one to apply for it because you’re being attentive and alert to the app and you still won’t get selected that’s what sucks about it. It should be first come first serve
