    UE needs to revoke the ability of customers to remove their tip to reduce tip baiting. The only option should be to increase the tip. Now if for some reason something happens where the customer may feel the need to remove a tip then they should have to call in and provide adequate reasoning that motivates the removal of the tip.

      Exactly I get tip baited at least twice a month and I can't stand it The last time it happened to me was 3 days ago and the order was for $5.21 and there was no problem with the order I picked it up I dropped it off where they told me to and then I get a message after the tip goes in that the customer took the tip away so I ended up only getting about $2 and some change for the base pay I was so pissed because I did everything right so you're right that needs to go away

    Personal observation: I deliver full-time in California, in San Diego County, mostly, below Del Mar and east towards El Cajon. I accept any and all requests because of the healthcare stipend. Any time spent accepting and completing a delivery is time towards the stipend goal of 328 active hours (thanks, Prop 22). I average 35 active hours a week, which is more than enough to meet the goal within the three-month period.
    It's not an issue for me to get to 100 deliveries fast, despite any pay given. It's nice on occasion to get a catering order and, yes, I get peeved when there's a $3 order with no tip. I figure that my next order down the road will have a tip.
    What would be nice (and something I've seen in DoorDash) is seeing the wait time for an order to appear, exclusive or not. I hate having to guess which areas are more likely to get lots of orders. I have red heat maps in which I've wait for more than hour for an order.

    Simple answer since the minimum wage increase
    The gig market big impact slowed down.
    DoorDash from 150 down go back to 100 & from 80% down to 70% . DoorDash went back before ratings.
    Food & rides super slow down.
    Now Uber same thing from 200 down to 100.
    Did everyone noticed how much you earned per hour? It’s getting low. In my area around $13 per hour for food deliveries.
    Rides also getting slow not the same last year or the other year.

    I drive for UberEats in Long Island. I received a message saying after Sept 1, drivers need to maintain a cancellation rate under 20% to continue driving for UberEats.
    Thank goodness there is - so far - no standard being proposed for acceptance rates. I've noticed that since Jan most trips have lousy payoffs, like $4 for a 10 mile trip! I no longer drive on weekdays and even then I reject 2/3 of the requests.

      @B_Bodziak 2 месяца назад

      @@manonthemoog Ahhhh, but in that update, they do say they're going to base Acceptance Rates on your last 100 Exclusive offers. So, AR parameters are definitely coming. We all see that ridiculous order for 20+miles paying base rate only comes on our screen. We decline, and that same restaurant and drop-off pops up a few minutes later as a stacked order paying a bit better. Then, we see that same ridiculous order in another stacked order, then, another. Drivers pick up the stack because one order is decent or even very good and they drop that long miles, no tip orders. Those orders just keep getting posted over and over. It's often from a pricier restaurant that has another location just a couple of miles from the customer. Why do people order Crumbl Cookies from a store 26 meal away when there's one on their doorstep? Same goes for virtually every chain? Is ordering it from so far away have any advantages for a customer whatsoever? I don't see it...

    Keep in mind: UE for cities / urban areas, DD for suburban areas. That's typically how it is in this area. Ever since the walmart opportunities, gives bigger chance in suburban areas.
    Its been based upon the last 100 trips for a while in this area. Maybe your area is now catching up. It also seems like Uber's AR goes up 1% for every trip you accept, and goes down 1% for every decline. I don't understand how DD calculates AR. I accepted each of my trips. I did 4 trips but my AR stayed at 75%. It has no problem trying to drop it to 74% if I decline. Might be broken.

    on uber rideshare I see surge pay everyday I have seen crazy $20+ areas now and then. but most are $1.25 to $8.50 . note just because you suddenly have a surge pay on next trip doesn't mean you will get an offer coming. I have sat waiting over 10 minutes once with a $4.25 surge pay next trip and never got an offer, The map updates and the surge promised vanished .

  • @matthewguyen

    The Uber AR will matter if you are in the Advantage and Standard program because under 25% you will only get trip radar and less exclusive requests which really sucks so it does matter in those pilot cities but otherwise it doesn’t matter

  • @photoguytn
    @photoguytn Месяц назад

    Change the verbiage from "tip" to "bid for service". Because in actuality, that is what it really is. Plus another thing: the tip / bid for service should be first BEFORE the other fees are calculated and presented to the customer. This way this number doesn't influence the tip amount. There are ways to psychologically make customers be better tippers across the board. The platforms just don't care about doing so.

    in my area i've never seen surge anything. This is not implemented yet in Sacramento California. Wait times within the last week on Uber Eats have been quite nice as opposed to 20 to 30 minutes at Popeyes and Wingstop for $5-$7 orders. I've had to take those to get my AR up but I'm wondering about maybe throwing DD in the trash honestly. Everything is slow in Sacramento the last 2 weeks. 3 orders from 5-11am 2 days in a row... but when it starts raining again hopefully in the fall, it will be good

    the $$$$ zone is no better then $$$ or a surge area. Wednesday don't know why I sat close to an hour with not a single offer. The one time an offer come in it was quickly grabbed by another driver before I could even hit accept. I waited as the area went from surge to $$$$ to $$$... so you are right don't chase zones. I don't know why I never got an offer but I packed it in went home . Granted I don't need to drive as this is just a side gig. I will try again this weekend when I am off from my full time job.

    • @B_Bodziak
      @B_Bodziak 2 месяца назад +2

      @@griffbos One thing is on UE is to be about a mile or 3-5 minutes from a restaurant/hotspot. If you're literally in the parking lot of a restaurant, you won't get any ue orders from there. I assume it's because they're trying to time a driver's arrival time with the food being ready for pick up. If you're too close, it doesn't give the restaurant time to prepare it. This is my own theory, but how many times have you sat at a place, decided to drive somewhere else and half a mile down the road get an offer for a hotspot restaurant

    That pic at @ 11:34 still doesn't matter. Where those $$$$ signs are does not mean trips will pop up there. The person that requested a ride from their home to a doctors appointment a few weeks back won't request the same thing today. Lyft (which I do not do) updated their app that apparently shows where the most current (as in today) pickups were and what areas. Uber is still doing historical data which imo is worthless. The only guarantees for rides are hospitals and airports and hotels. I still won't navigate to the $$$$ @18:33, again they say its historical data. Again, worthless history.

    I do not even worry about my AR with any app. It’s not manageable. Anything over maybe 30% would ruin my per mile. I can’t measure by hour since I have to decline 90% of offers. Lots of long runs and some are ok but if I take them I’m either way out of town or into vacation going to random condos on the 17th floor. I used to do Chinese and the only way to profit vacation areas is to take three or more orders all near by but this takes a long time with traffic and long walks.
    Nothing will change for me because I can’t afford to take most offers. lol

Also some restaurants say they "deliver" on their websites... take orders there, have no delivery driver employee... and put it in the Uber app as a delivery for us drivers. Problem is some of these places are not forwarding the tip on their app... so, who is pocketing that? Others online have talked about this. Otherwise, you have to schedule or be in a hot zone.....when you travel and then return home you can't schedule and can only dash when it's a hot zone.....not really fun playing this game IMHO. I was enjoying it for a bit......not so much now.

    Who cares? I have driven for both for 7 years. Acceptance rate only matters if you want to make less money for rewards.
    My acceptance rate with Uber is 1%-8%
    Independent contractors can not be punished for not accepting a contract. The criteria has nothing to do with the driver.
    I work for money not rewards.

      Plus uber surge is a joke. Go offline when demand is high... They offer no surge... Uber spams you all day everyday and if you go offline Uber asks you if you are sure that you want to go offline? Demand is high! With base rate fairs.
      Uber still sucks and no one here remembers making $50 for a $10 ride. They take the multiple while we take the $5 bonus
