      Sure, after MR 5v5 isn't for me, devs officially can't balance it properly

      They took too long. Im over the 6v6 verses 5v5 thing because they already said prior to this, that they wouldn’t get rid of 5v5. Too many players like 5v5. One thing we don’t really talk about is just how many NEW players OW has gained since becoming 5v5 and OW2. I think there’s more ppl who prefer 5v5 so anyone who supports 6v6 is a minority. If they add both, they spilt the player base and queue times will suffer. The balance team will be worked to hell and it’s going to get messy.
      Now, that aside I loved the video. I am definitely excited to see what they have been cooking. I think they will surprise us. If it’s just, “6v6 mode.! Hero bans.! And new skins and heros.!” The game will be ruined in a few months. I know I said they couldnt handle it on Twitter, but they might have to do the junkerstien event thing but not for 2 formats of play (6v6 and 5v5). It’ll just be the most work. I’m excited to see what’s going on. And can’t wait to hear everyone’s opinions

      If they keep the season 9 changes it will be bad. Season 9 is bad for 5v5 and even worse for 6v6. Regardless I will play it for my duty to show interest so they will keep it full time. Then maybe they can reconsider their balance philosophy and switch from caring about winrate to skill/reward curve, the. We are so back. For now, Rivals.

      6v6 is something that I'm willing to reinstall the game for again. I'm just hoping they don't ruin it with an awful balance patch like the first 2-2-2 test.

  • @extremelight9258

    I would have appreciated this back in season 4 or season 6, but it's honestly too late now. The last time they did something major for the game was back in season 9, which was almost a year ago, and a lot of people agreed that it changed the game for the worse in terms of balance. The fact that they only started caring and giving people what they want (Overwatch Classic, 6v6, free skins that were supposed to be in the shop) just because of Marvel Rivals shows just how scared they are now that they know someone might steal the player base they have been milking for cash for so long. Even if Marvel Rivals runs into problems and the hype for it dies down, there are other games that deserve attention and treat their players better than Blizzard. How many more seasons do they need to finally "save" the game? Blizzard keeps bringing back old features that they shouldn't have removed in the first place and they expect praise for it. Sorry for the rant. I still have many fond memories of this game and I still adore many of its heroes, but I'm tired of giving Blizzard chances and waiting for them to change for the better.

      I think this just shows how much competition matters in an industry. Overwatch has potential and has proved itself in the past but the dev team got complacent because no other game could step to it. As much as I don’t like MR it’s hard to deny that it is definitely taking away players and motivating the studio more.

      @Milesrgomez yeah if hard meta is him sitting in the backline all game farming blade just to be active for 6 seconds while still having to play perfectly and have his team pocketing him before he goes back to doing nothing the entire game. You can play him that way or you can play literally any other dps that gets the same or more value for infinitely less effort

    You’re 100% right about why the 6v6 comp is coming to midseason instead of the beginning. They’re still gathering player data so having 6v6 comp in immediately would sabotage the game. I’m glad they’re doing a comp season so fast tbh.

    Im tired of them treating 6v6 like its an “experiment” or “test” when its a proven format that others and THEMSELVES have done for years. In my opinion the whole OW2 was just a long 5v5 test especially since they are “BRINGING BACK” 6v6. You need to think about the people that may enjoy 5v5, they can’t swap immediately because that portion that may enjoy 5v5 might leave the game if it goes to 6v6, they need to see the demand for the mode is high enough for them to swap safely.

  • @Wolfin_G
    @Wolfin_G 3 дня назад +9

    Honestly, it's just too little too late for me. I'm tired, I'm tired of waiting for the dev team to finally do something I'm tired of them not properly listening to the community, I'm tired of them not respecting my time. I could go on and on but OverWatch has worn me out. I loved OverWatch 1 and I played it all the time till the day it was shut down. But I can't keep hoping and being disappointed every single time I see a patch update. The player base has been drained dry over the last eight to nine years and at this point I don't think it's possible to recover the trust of the player base. I have basically moved over full-time to rivals and haven't even looked at OverWatch just because rivals actually respects my time. My will and drive to grind OverWatch is gone and unless they make some major changes to the hero philosophy and game I do not think I will return. Having to deal with widow, having to deal with mauga, being forced to play clash, being forced to play 5v5, I don't have LFG anymore which I used daily, I miss my player borders, the current hero progression is ass and the leveling system is pointless, I hate the season 9 changes, I hate that every single patch makes the game dumber, I want my skill expression back, how do you rework the fire system to be worse than it was in OverWatch 1.
    Sorry I'm rambling but the game does not need to evolve, every single time evolves it becomes worse. Give the players what they are asking for give the players what they used to love. Stop trying to reinvent something that was working.

  • @peterwake5265

    Great point. This endless 6v6 “testing” is performative. If the poor tests they run don’t get massive attention, they can say that 5v5 was the right way all along - and if they stick with that story, Overwatch is dead. Also, Clash is so much better in 6v6 - it actually feels OK there. The failing with clash is it doesn’t ever feel like attack or defence; it’s more like a moveable king of the hill. If they made it so the “defenders” can reliably pre-stage, then it might credibly feel like attack-defence. Talking about Hanamura and Anubis maps … they really should bring Horizon and Paris back as flashpoint maps. I don’t understand why the devs of OW are pretending that 5v5 isn’t a total failure. You can’t put all the stress onto one tank and give the offtank power to support - that makes support overpowered - it’s glaringly obvious. OW didn’t arrive at 2:2:2 by accident, it arrived there through trial and error, in a world of no-limits and then open-queue. They can say big changes are coming, but sticking with 5v5 is fighting Rivals with one hand tied behind their backs and they will not just lose slowly or hold their ground, they will lose fast.

  • @Mixxium
    @Mixxium 3 дня назад

    Alright I'll actually throw hands over clash, it's the only gamemode in the game that is consistently fun for me. Fast steamrolls are a million times better than a slow steamroll, and the reason it's hard to tell where to go is because the ui glitches out a third of the time. God I hate robot push so much, but I don't care about the drama or nonsense, I just want blizzard to take the time to balance both 5v5 and 6v6. They have unique gameplay feel, Overwatch already has countermeasures against longer load times with the incredible workshop, and while it shouldn't be directly encouraged to increase them, splitting player pools isn't that crazy of a concept. 5v5 is better casual and 6v6 is so much more fun in a coordinated session.
    And please, don't spend money until things are actually steady again. There shouldn't be any reward until they comply with getting things like the workshop, clash, and robot push fixed.
    Overwatch 2 is meant to be a skill based game, almost entirely, don't go down the hole that killed the game the first time and make it anything else.

    I'm really glad we're finally getting a 6v6 comp mode. I'd rather play comp than QP but I can't go back to 5v5 anymore.
    I really hope it isn't pickable passives/Junkenstein's lab. I'd rather see hero reworks (big and small) for a significant chunk of the cast. Seeing things like Mirrorwatch Ana and Rein or OW1 experimental features like Sound Barrier headshot and Mei freezing the ground to move faster could be really cool. Maybe you could remove Widow's 1 shot but make scoped headshots apply a venom mine effect. There's a lot you could do to rework heroes without removing their identity and these large systemic changes (5v5, season 9) have only made the game worse long term for limited short term gain.
    Whatever it is, I'll give it a try. If it is something like Junkenstein's I hope I'm proven wrong.

    Im open to whatever Gameplay change they have, if its some kind of Perk System for the Standard game, im willing to try that
    But its kinda sad that the OW i have been trying to get back since OW2s release will probably be not playable anymore
    But the main 2 things they could do from a Gameplay standpoint is 6v6 and revert S9 and then the Game would play and feel infinitely better than now

So thats probably not going to happen so Ill probably not play it. I know MR has a lot of healing and its almost too much so depending on how that goes we shall see how long that game lasts.

    I disagree with you on the "overwatch needs to evolve" argument. In my opinion overwatch needs to get its shit together and finally balance the game properly to get competitive people back, and for normies do that junkerstein lab thingy and give out more skins for free. But I don't care about normies so not gonna speak about them. Ow's balance is god awful. There's no denying that. And marvel rivals has the same issue but worse. And yet people still go play it. But why? Because marvel rivals respects player skill (until high ranks), unlike overwatch. DPS are actually powerful, tanks aren't unkillable and don't give reduced ult charge. YOU CAN PLAYMAKE. In overwatch you can't. No evolution or innovation will change that because that is solely affected by balance. 6v6 won't save the game if the devs will continue to double down on shit like season 9. Neither will any iteration of junkerstein lab in comp. The game is amazing, the engine is the best in the gaming sphere, the netcode is fantastic (except hanzo), but the balance is atrocious. Why throw all of that out the window and "evolve the game" when you can just fix the painpoint? And it's not like the game is even hard to balance. Literally just nerf everything across the board. Revert most of the changes since ow2 launch (obviously except actual qol changes) and the game is fun. Support players need to just learn to play the game above journalist difficulty and devs need to not cater to morons. And then competitive players will return, and some streamers will immediately return, bigger ones will need more time. And with them more players will come back.

    • @goosie333
      @goosie333 3 дня назад +1

      My thoughts exactly. OW is currently losing both casual and competitive players to Rivals and Rivals is in a much better position to appeal to the casual side with more frequent hero releases, Marvel branding, and team up abilities. They should try to make Overwatch the best possible version of itself and "soft reboot" the game. 6v6, old healthpools, role passives removed (except for regen), and nerfed healing and damage mitigation across the board. They still don't know how to balance the season 9 changes a year later and an even larger shake up has the potential to make things so much worse.
