Hey everyone! I hope you enjoy the video - I didn't know the kickstarter price until after I was done making the video so I'll pin them in this comment. UE20 - KS Price $210 // Retail $280 UE20 - KS Price $240 // Retail $320 UE20 - KS Price $255 // Retail $340
Hey hey, we'll eventually offer a similar strap for the mountain lines. On a side note, I think we should rebrand 'Features' to 'Life Improvements'. Feels more accurate. ;) Thanks Brandon!
That's rad and can't wait for that update! Thanks so much for allowing me the privilege of testing this wonderful bag out. Looking forward towards more future Shimoda bag goodness
I think he's referring to the Action X and Explore lines which are out now, and I can definitely vouch for the ActionX bags. they're incredible. @@Michael-dx8qz
Just curious. Why couldn't you make a 16" laptop fit the 20L? 😢 I'm hunting for a new backpack and am between this one and the new Nomatic Luma 18L which can hold a 16" MacBook...
Are those load lifters on the straps? Sorry, specifically watched to see how they worked/quality and unless I missed it, you skipped over talking about them - I’m assuming that’s what they are. They’re also not mentioned on Shimoda’s website for the 20L, unless I missed it there too, which is a possibility.
Fantastic video sir! Does the bag feel significantly more flimsy if you use it without the cube? And is the cube have much weight to it? I kinda want to put clothes in the main without the cube and just keep my camera in the top pocket for quick access. Hoping the bag without the cube will also make it overall much lighter.
They said I'll be getting mine in February '24. Same as this one you reviewed. Really lookin forward to usin it, the bag I have now is so big and cumbersum!
Loving the overview vibes… especially getting angry when things aren’t charged. Nice to know it happens to the best of us. Heading to kickstarter now. Thanks bud 🤙🏽
Thanks for the great overview. Just backed that exact same model. The Action X30 already was a game changer for my landscape photography trips. I’m really looking forward to replacing my everyday carry with this.
New subscriber here. Love this review and the style of the video. Do you think 25L would be a more practical size if I usually bring a q2, A7cR with 28-200mm lens along with pocket 3 and some small accessories?
@@caffeinatedcameras thanks for your reply. Actually any type of anti theft system would suffice if there is one, like the Onemo 2 from pgytech for example
Nice demonstration. Do you think for a 20L bag, do you think it can fit a canon r5 with rf 24-70 f2.8 L attached and a rf70-200 f4L on the side with other small gears for hiking or one day trip, such as a thin jacket, snacks bar, filters, cpl?
I have just ordered the bag through kick starter will be Feb next year before I get it but it looks what I’ve been looking for I ordered the 20 L version
Thanks for the video. I have a Shimoda Explore V2 30 - it is great bag, but it is a bit heavy for weekend or leisure shooting. I will probably buy this small 20 when it will be on sale. Can you give me the weight with the core unit or without. I believe it is much lighter.
Dude this was great and truly appreciate showing what you could actually fit in the bag realistically which is always hard to determine with bag videos. This was dope! Secondly this bag seems like if Peak design and the Pm everyday nomadic bag had a baby which I have both and this might be the one that gets me to switch lol
Hey Joe! Thanks for watching man. Yeah fantastic bag for its size - my only wish is for it to have something more rigid on the top like the PM everyday bag.
Little question is the wandrd essential cube compatible with this bag? I’m looking for a camera backpack which could hold the wandrd camera cube essential that I already have. I know wandrd have their own bag but I’m also looking for other options.
Very different packs, I’d say if you’re more of an outdoor enthusiast and you need something a little more rugged still go with the explorer, but if you’re wanting like the ultimate content, creator, backpack, the new urban explorer is one solid choice
I said it did though… can it fall over yes, if I put all the weight at the top it will, but my pm bag will do that if I don’t put the weight in a logical spot:
I’m sure the luma is a great bag, but I’ve had to return my PM bag 3 times for manufacturing issues… torn zippers, tears etc… never had that on any Shimoda and I beat the shit out of them
Uh cool that you “count it” but that isn’t reality. Reality is that I was given a backpack, not money. If you wanna ask Ian if he paid me, he’d say no I gave him a backpack.

It looks good. Is it possible to attach a waist belt?

When will the mountain line be out? Can’t wait if it looks something like to Strohl bag but with all the good Shimoda touches

The strap on explorer v2 look too much hiking for urban city.If your sell the strap like urban version.I love to purchase one

It’s a soft bag without a frame so it is less rigid.
Yes, please do a longer term review after a few months. 😊
Will do!

Duuuuuude! A bag in a bag?! That was freaking genius!!!

Love it!! Thought you were going to get to 5 cameras
Hahaha - it ain’t that big

I’d probably say yes just for the length of that lens, but if it’s not that long the 20l will fit all of that other stuff no problem
Great video, great vibes.
Appreciate it!
Does the bag stand upright when you put it on the ground, empty or full? Do the zippers have an anti theft system? Thanks
It stands upright. And I’m not sure what specific anti theft system you might be looking for

Fantastic video dude! I don’t know how you made a bag review entertaining but you did
Glad you enjoyed it Caleb! Yeah I don't know how either - great to hear I did though:)
Great video Brandon, The pack looks really interesting!
Thank you sir, I appreciate you watching. I hope all is well
This bag seems like just what I was looking for. How do you think the Boa color will hold up to wear and tear from your use?
I've got two other tan colored bags and they've handled just fine.
I have just ordered the bag through kick starter will be Feb next year before I get it but it looks what I’ve been looking for
I ordered the 20 L version
I hope you enjoy it!
@@caffeinatedcameras thanks I’ve just changed the order to the 25 L might be more my size after seeing a few reviews Your review was spot on 👍

Pretty sure the specs are listed on the site. Sorry I don't really have a way to weigh it.
Can you carry camping gear, food and camera gear for a multi day hiking/camping trip in one of these action bags?
In the Action X line for sure!!!

It would be good if a waist strap can be added to the bag.
I am pretty sure it can, it just doesn’t come with one
Awesome video man
Appreciate it!
How do you think this is going to compare to the Luma bag?
Hey stud, I love nematics bags, but Shimoda has had zero problems where as I've returned/exchanged 3 different times my nematics.
hi nice video! i was wondering if you are able to fit a 14 inch laptop (such as macbook pro 14inch) inside either sleeve? thanks!
Yes

No clue sorry - I don’t have any wandrd products
Do you have a website? I would like to see your work that you use the gear on.
In the process of making one
@@caffeinatedcameras Nice!
Looks like they borrowed the design of the PgyTech OneMo and made it better.
I've heard that's a great bag.
@caffeinatedcameras I didn't buy one but it looks like it is. I opted for Wandrd Pvke 30L.
A very good bag as well. @@ytwatcher6020
What size of bigger backpack will fit 20L like yours? 0:52
It’s the Shimoda X70 (70L)
I’m a little glad I didn’t buy the explore v2 yesterday

Would a a7r3 with a battery grip attached fit in the 25L and also be able to get it out of the side access?
I don’t have it, so I have no idea. Sorry.
nice 1
Thank you!
Does it stand when filled up like the PM bags?
It does, but it does matter where the weight in your bag is
do you think that its annoying that it doesn't? this is coming from someone who is coming from the PM bags@@caffeinatedcameras
I said it did though… can it fall over yes, if I put all the weight at the top it will, but my pm bag will do that if I don’t put the weight in a logical spot:

can this 20L fit a 15inch laptop with 35W cm? really want to get this
I doubt it. But the 25L could
Hey, dude. May I know your height?😊

About Housekeeping point #2; they actually did "pay" you, got a free backpack. Just sayin, I count that as being paid. 😎
