Awesome video!!! Super well done! Appreciate the feedback and support. Always striving to improve these bags with feedback from community and my own use etc! So, again, appreciate you!
Makes me excited to get my bag (if it ever arrives). Surprised you haven’t commented on all the Nomatic pain we’ve been dealing with trying to get our bags. Its been really frustrating unfortunately.
@@paulandpedro oh I got ya, we’ll I’d assume cause he’s probably not involved in the manufacturing process and the design changes that impact the manufacturing process.
Yep, one of my zippers broke, and they sent me a whole new bag and let me keep the old one. I haven't even opened the new one. Its worth contacting them.
I don't see these bags as anything more exciting than what's already available by Lowepro for example. I think folks are really paying for the PMcK badge.
This is so true, the quality of the bag material is not for rough condition unlike any other mid range backpacks, most of them uses more % of nylon that this plastic material, i am really disappointed when i used the backpack 5/6 times only in total but already got ugly scratches very easily, where i had older targus backpack which is more durable! thanks for exposing it.
Fantastic review! Really appreciate you pointing out the flaws found ;) Really funny as well with cube dividers and side pocket hight/ strap issue. Seams like really solid customer support which is huge! Thanks for sharing and enjoy your trip! Jay
Thank You for this review! Black Friday sale I have ordered the sling, been desiring the backpack. This review made me realize I needed the everyday over the travel, and just ordered.
I bought the Peter M big bag about a month ago because we're travelling for about 2 years. This was the ONLY bag we could get 2 laptops into, a Sony A74+ extra lens, a GoPro hero 10 with tons of accessories, mini drone, cords, 5 batteries, double charger, cables, mic, paperwork, files... the list goes on. Sure we could have gotten a hard wheeling pelican case but we've ditched our backpacks for Osprey wheelers and the Peter M is now the only pack on our bag, (it's very comfy) AND, it fit easily as carry on, on AeroMexico. I also think the zippers work just fine, we haven't had a problem. I love how robust & good looking the bag is!...😍
The reason for different long divider lengths is because they are supposed to wrap around the camera. Since one side of camera usually has a grip, it would be longer than the other side to wrap around.
Thanks so much for your assessment of the revised backpack. I loved the cubes idea since I do multiple scenarios. 1 scenario for family traveling, another for macro photography with various bulky stacking and automation gear. So different cubes can be preconfigured and reduce my OCD panic attacks dealing with reconfigurations. I'll just buy a multiple cubes and configure each just once and leave it dedicated. Its also great to hear that manufacturers actually respond to user feedback. I have recently dealt with a German based macro specialist company and have never received any replies or assistance from any of their listed email contact numbers. That is so frustrating when you spend hard earned money and no response at all. Yet other companies I have received answers directly from owners including detailed blue prints for a product.
This was the first video from you I have watched and I have to say I’m loving the honesty you approached this with. Too many people review the bag while still fanboying about it. I really only care about the problems and super original attributes of products in reviews and you did a great job. I saw the peak design 30l every day pack on your wall? I would love to see a review of that one in the future.
David! Thank you so much for the kind words. It’s a great bag, and in one of my other videos I kinda did a review on it, but the PM I enjoy using way more. Maybe I’ll do a big bag comparison at some point. The next video I’m working on though is a camera review so stay tuned
opinions are just opinions so much goes into an individual's opinion, even simple stuff like ..how much money they have, a person who has more money will review an item waaaaay more differently then a broke scrub would, for example i'm a broke scrub, i dont care about zippers, all my zippers always break, because i buy shitty zippers because i'm a broke ass scrub, to me it wouldnt be that big of a deal (except how flippin much his bags cost in the first place) i could buy 4, sometimes 5 crappy bags for the same cost as one of his, yes i want a good bag, i just cant ever afford one. i think richer people give more honest reviews kind of, or rather they notice small things that broke reviewers would look over, if you pay 10,000$ for a video camera it should be the most amazing thing in the world (red sucks, but thats his deal, i think they are rubbish for the prices they put everything at , especially their "hard drives" which is basically a scam) but a scrub like me reviewing a Red camera, it would be the most awesome camera ever, because i only buy shit cameras lol so i dunno what good even is(my 90D is good i think)
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing your experiences with the Peter McKinnon bag. I have the McKinnon everyday bag on order and expecting it to arrive today. I am currently using a Brevite bag but need more room.
I thought those different size dividers were so it fits the shape of your camera with a lens. I think like the peak design does. I could be wrong. Great review man 💪🏻
Awesome video! I’m sure you know now that the bag doesn’t come with straps now but you can buy 2 for $20. The ability to configure this bag like you want is probably it’s greatest attribute.
Thanks for the info! I actually didn’t know they stopped sending them with the bag but I actually just bought a pack of two because I lose one of the buckle sides.
Hahaha hey Joe! I do, not always sometimes I wanna just hike and wear a sling with my X100V but if I feel so inspired by where I’m Going I’ll usually take 2-3 lenses, a drone and a body or two.
First time coming across your channel. Excellent video, man. The quality of the video is awesome but I really appreciate the push/pull point of view that you've given. Saying "I think ti should be done this way/this is dumb" while also being real about Nomatic and that they COULD HAVE just said "nah that's the dividers bye". If your content is always at this level, I can see you growing immensely. You've gained me as a subscriber for sure. 💪
So true on the zippers. Mine broke too and when you pull them they make the zipper angle down in the direction of the pull when opening and it’s so difficult. In comparison, Lowepro zippers are like butter.
I also had a zipper issue with my V1 but they only told me to file a warranty claim back in 2020 where the v1 first came out. Never really got any help at all. Don't get me wrong, the bag is awesome and I love it still.
I guess the reason for different length dividers is that your camera usually is long where it has it‘s hand grip and those dividers a meant to be user as in every other bag like to form a T-shaped place for your camera… 🤷🏻♂️
I get that but literally in every bag I have 10 now - those dividers are the same length, and having it be different lengths actually creates gaps that take up space but are too small to fit things into
Fully thought your channel was 500k+ until I looked. Amazing quality, valuable content, love it! Just for the record, I subbed at 112, so when you blow up I can say I was an OG 😂
Since my wife is in manufacturing I gave them a pass on having to wait so long to receive the bag however them making decisions to change the cubes without notifying there backers I found pretty upsetting.
We got the new sling from that same run (as we already have the big bag also) and the sling had a weird stitch where one side was misstitched so we wound up returning it. They said they were going to replace it but it had been a while and I hadn't heard anything so we just returned it. Always important to inspect everything just in case you get a dud.
I’m sorry they left you hanging. When I made this review communication had been excellent but over the past several months I’ve been left hanging on a lot as well. Glad you got it returned though
Finally it’s time to switch from Wandrd PRVKE to Pete’s backpack… this got the updates I wanted… let me know how de divider situation worked out for you pls! I got major OCD too.
They did eventually send me another set, and even though I have OCD, it does work a little better with the uneven folders. But it is far and away my favorite camera bag.
couldn't agree more in regards to only providing 1 tripod strap. I went to Nomatic's website to try and get another one, they are not listed yet for purchase. I have the Peak Design tripod as well, and it needs that strap to stay in place. I agree 100% about those side pockets. A bit taller, with some bungee material on the top, and you wouldn't even need a strap. Maybe just do that for 1 pocket, and leave the other as it, the pockets do not need to be identical on each side. Love the review and I love having this bag :)
Great video! Loved the various compare/contrast sequences you showed as well as your improvements. I was on the fence on whether I wanted the bag, especially after how long it took to get it. I was pleasantly surprised on the overall look because that part I wasn't particularly crazy about compared to the peak design look. But after getting it, I'm happy I waited on the pandemic delivery process. Side flap idea is a good one for both the side pockets and the main opening flap, but I think that would mess with the loft concept? I also would have liked to see the use of more pockets or zipped pockets in any place that's available i.e. inside main compartment, two zipped pockets but not one at the top. I'd also like one of those zipped pockets to be divided for the not-long items. My suggestion to nomatic during the campaign was that they design the loft to accommodate the small cube or create a cube that has the sides contoured to match the loft to fit so that I can fit a cube in that space.
It’s a really good bag, that I agree was worth the wait but does have some omissions and shortcomings. Glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for watching:
I dont mind the cube situation. My camera isnt symmetric... and every other bag setup ive had has resulted in mushed and oddly shaped dividers. I think the mckinnon dividers seem perfect! Just ordered my everyday backpack!
Okay... after that wonderful video i was like im gonna watch another video of him but bro there like 5 video i thought u were like a 1 million + subscriber youtuber YOUR VIDEO ARE INSANE QUALITY !
Great video. I own the peak design bag and I agree I wish it can stand up on its own. But that’s really my only major complaint about peak design and maybe the price. But this version two bag that you reviewed look really nice and I’m really tempted. Again great video. Love your content. We’re in the same boat brother.
Jiu-Jitsu knee on belly zipper action really cracked me up!! In my opinion this is the best review of the bag on the internetz. So much extra information that was helpfull to me. Do you have a link that would get you a commission, because this is exactly the video why I would buy one!
Great review ! Really good work. Btw. What do u have on this wall behind you ? I mean not the gear but the black construction. I want one in my garage :)
Thank you for the review, however, like you I was really disappointed that the top zipper came off at the upper right corner, rendering the bag useless.
Excellent video sir! You've made some good points about what appears to be n otherwise awesome bag. I'm hoping that the dividers/ladder system will accommodate 2 gripless Nikon mirrorless bodies plus 4-5 lenses (no longer than 100-400 f/4.5-5.6). Thanks again!
@@caffeinatedcameras Thank you, and again, a great review/comparison! IMHO, if the 25L had load lifters and at least 1 external small pocket, it would meet my needs perfectly!
@@caffeinatedcameras Well, I do love the quality of the McKinnon backpack, those Shimoda bags do sound awesome, but the price tag is a bit steep currently. I did find a PGYTECH OneMo V2 25L backpack that seems to be large enough (and high enough internally) to accommodate my kit. Thanks again for your fine reviews!
Funny you mention the dividers, I have the MCKINNON CUBE PACK 21L and I tried very hard to get the dividers to work my camera and it just seemed wonky. So now I only carry my camera with one lens, every day, and no divider.
Like you, I own the original backpack, we use it all the time, but totally agree its a large bag. Am still waiting for my everyday backpack. That cube looks so wrinkled. What happened? Peter’s didn’t look like that. Did Nomatic pull a “bait and switch”? This backpack really needs one outside pocket for phone & wallet.
They did kind of. It’s in the video. They decided to not put the wire frame around the cube. Which of course upset a lot of people, so NOMATIC is offering the frame for free.
Could you make a vid about the other bags you've tried? I'm on the hunt for an everyday bag but I don't want to wait for the PM everyday restock. I have the travel bag but its huge as you said lol i only use it to travel. Thanks !
Hey Joe! I’ve now learned what it’s for however it creates gaps that are too small for any use. They would have been better off going with equal sided dividers. Thank you so much for watching!
I have returned two different bags by now. Waiting for the bag Think Tank Photo Urban Access 13. I believe this is the closest "look alike" to your bag that i have seen online. Finger crossed now 😅
Curious how this bag feels on your back under full load. I got the larger 35L and fits my full gfx100ii with 3 lenses and a bunch of gear and I gotta admit the bag feels a bit ridiculous in size but oh man is it comfortable. I filled 4 different bags with all the same gear for a weight check and none were anywhere near as comfortable and actually felt substantially heavier, I think it might have to do with the length of the PMK35L it ends near the bottom of your spine. This one is a few inches shorter and wonder if that comes off the top or the bottom respectively.
Bummer, I was really liking that top cabinet for just tossing my camera in and going. The side entrances are ok but you have to take everything off like mic/ssd/ flash/monitor etc. the top box is super neat.
@@SDA-Sound Check out the Shimoda Urban Explore 30L! I also have that bag, and it has a similar compartment up top for quick access, plus it's insanely comfortable even when loaded out. I have a review of the 25l on my channel:)
This was great. Just ordered the bag - excited to swap out my 12+ yr old bag for this one. Worried about those flimsy magnets and now I'm regretting not ordering the two additional straps for $19. Haha.
Finally got my order and the tripod straps weren't with it, i was pretty sure it was supposed to have one, as the additional straps you could purchase work on the sling but not the side of the actual bag. The 30 dollar voucher - i attempted to buy the waist strap but it was going to be 69 dollars to ship to Australia .. don't think so.
Very good analysis and in depth review of the bag. Nice job with the video itself. I share ALL of your cons (I thought I was just being weird about the long dividers; I did not opt for the larger cube but I did purchase the divider pack and thought WTF?!). I will say the magnets are more a gadget/hype thing than I would have liked. I find them remedial at best especially in the 'loft' flap... which fits over the space oddly and gets in the way of quick zipping up of the bag itself. Agree on not providing a second strap for the side pocket. While I do like the bag a lot - it isn't as great as I would have hoped. (I also purchased the Sling which I do very much like but could use some re-tooling and better execution of certain features).
Hi I’m planning on a trip to Central America. I’d like to take my avata2 plus the goggles and to fpv rc plus batteries plus a canon R6 and 2 lenses, 14-35 and the 70-200 f4 rf. You think I’ll be able to feet all that in this 25 l? 😮😊
Glad you liked it! The cubes actually are really nice but was frustrated that they changed the design without letting backers know. But they are sending out the wire frames free Of charge.
Great video, thank you for actually talking about the flaws the bag had. Sadly I ordered this bag and decided to cancel it after their whole shipping fiasco once it got to domestic land. Could you do some videos on the boundary bags you have? I was very in between the errant bag but decided to go with a Wandrd Prvke 31L bag as it provided some more space since I had no idea if the errant’s 21L would be enough!
Hey thanks for watching! I have I think three other Boundary Supply bag reviews but they are on my main channel. It’s just “Brandon Talbot” I will say it depends on what you’re trying to carry with the Errant. It’s quite tiny.
Like Peter, a lot. I wouldn’t say I was going after him at all, just saying Nomatic made some dumb decisions, decisions he has no control over I bet. He saw the video and commented .
@@caffeinatedcameras after watching the entire video I concur. The comment was made after reading the title. You were very fair and thorough. No BS no sugar coating. That's much appreciated in today's climate. Keep up the great work
Glad i didn't get the V2. I changed my mind and get cheaper but better option which is pgytech onemo, it literally almost the same but cheaper and quite nicer with side access and the main zipper really smooth and open to the side. Literally cheaper and better option since the quality almost comparable. Anyways awesome video 💯 really liked it.
Really enjoyable video bro. Appreciate your style of reviewing focusing on both positives & negatives. I would love to hear what you think of the other bags you have on the wall behind you, that Peak Design Everyday & the Boundary Supply Errant packs. This seems a good mix between the PD Travel pack and the Errant. Sub’ed, looking forward to your next post
Errant I have a complete review of on my other channel but by FAR my favorite everyday carry bag. The peak design is phenomenal, the laptop sleeve in the back is too tight but everything is great. But - I find the the top load of the PM bag more useful than the Peak Designs because it can’t stand up. The side zips are nice but I find myself having to put it on the ground anyway so to me, it feels like it’s kind of going backwards at that point.

Thanks dude! Means a lot that you would spend the time to watch
@@caffeinatedcameras Time well spent!
I dont mind the cube situation. My camera isnt symmetric... and every other bag setup ive had has resulted in mushed and oddly shaped dividers. I think the mckinnon dividers seem perfect! Just ordered my everyday backpack!
It’s a great bag!
Good stuff, and humorous. Thanks man
Glad you enjoyed it:)
Okay... after that wonderful video i was like im gonna watch another video of him but bro there like 5 video i thought u were like a 1 million + subscriber youtuber YOUR VIDEO ARE INSANE QUALITY !
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you Gabriel that’s incredibly kind of you.
Subscriber #100!!!
LETS GOOOOO AJ!!!
Great video. Very aptly described everything.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. I own the peak design bag and I agree I wish it can stand up on its own. But that’s really my only major complaint about peak design and maybe the price. But this version two bag that you reviewed look really nice and I’m really tempted. Again great video. Love your content. We’re in the same boat brother.
Maurice thank you so much. I gotta be honest I don’t really understand why nag manufacturers do that.
Keep uploading content dude! Love the vids
I’ll do my best!
Your videos are amazing!!! Keep it up!!!
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you so much!
great content man! keep it up
Thanks Manuelle!
I like your ideas and content. Keep going.
Thanks Jennifer!!!
Your video is helpful but at the same time is fun to watch 😂
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it
Refreshing and honest. Appreciate the review man. Sub'd!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Jiu-Jitsu knee on belly zipper action really cracked me up!! In my opinion this is the best review of the bag on the internetz. So much extra information that was helpfull to me. Do you have a link that would get you a commission, because this is exactly the video why I would buy one!
I appreciate that! - I know I do somewhere but I am not worried about it. Hope you love the bag!
Great review ! Really good work. Btw. What do u have on this wall behind you ? I mean not the gear but the black construction. I want one in my garage :)
David thanks for watching and the kind words:) it’s pegboard that’s been painted a dark matte gray
Thank you for the review, however, like you I was really disappointed that the top zipper came off at the upper right corner, rendering the bag useless.
The top zipper broke on your everyday bag or the old travel bag?
Excellent video sir! You've made some good points about what appears to be n otherwise awesome bag. I'm hoping that the dividers/ladder system will accommodate 2 gripless Nikon mirrorless bodies plus 4-5 lenses (no longer than 100-400 f/4.5-5.6). Thanks again!
That’s gonna be pushin’ it but maybe!
@@caffeinatedcameras Thank you, and again, a great review/comparison! IMHO, if the 25L had load lifters and at least 1 external small pocket, it would meet my needs perfectly!
@@stevetqp9152 Have you looked at any of Shimoda's bags?
Minimal is best
Cool vid! FYI Peak Design also has a lifetime warranty and they have awesome customer service as well
Big props to PD!
@@caffeinatedcameras i like it better without it fits but stuff better
Great video man.
Chris thank you so much man!
Could you make a vid about the other bags you've tried? I'm on the hunt for an everyday bag but I don't want to wait for the PM everyday restock. I have the travel bag but its huge as you said lol i only use it to travel. Thanks !
I actually do have more bag reviews on my main channel:)
@@caffeinatedcameras I can't find it ! What is it ?
@@JoseMartinez-hx6qe hey Jose it’s this channel, I’m messaging you from my main channel
You can put zipper “chap stick” on them. My yeti submergible came with some.
WHAAAAAAAAA??? Where do I get this?
@@caffeinatedcameras you can get some on Amazon. It’s called zipper lubricant
@@jchainz8198 Love it! Thank you
Awesome review, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, what brand/kind of LED light is attached to your pegboard? How it is mounted?
Nanlite Pavotube the 4ft tubes. And they’re actually just hung on pegboard hooks using the steel hanging cables they come with it.
Great video! Well done! subbed
Thanks Jason!
I alternate between this bag and the Wandered 21L, depending on what I'm doing. Both stand up by themselves.
Great bags!
really refreshing video dude🫶
Glad you think so, I appreciate it man
Two different sized dividers are to conform to the body shape/profile of your camera body. Great video. Just subscribed.
Hey Joe! I’ve now learned what it’s for however it creates gaps that are too small for any use. They would have been better off going with equal sided dividers. Thank you so much for watching!
@@caffeinatedcameras agreed. Again great video. I like your format. Very entertaining.
Thanks Joe! I really appreciate that and welcome to the caffeinated fam:)
you should give a try to f-stop if you hike that much. They also have a 20 years warranty
Thanks Leo! I’ve never heard of them so I’ll check it out
Beautiful video señor... my only downside of this bag is that it doesn't have side access 😥
Thanks Primo, yeah I know for some it’s a bummer
It’s not a bag that I fully load out and expect to be comfortable. It doesn’t have the frame or the waist straps to do that
Bummer, I was really liking that top cabinet for just tossing my camera in and going. The side entrances are ok but you have to take everything off like mic/ssd/ flash/monitor etc. the top box is super neat.
@@SDA-Sound What's the weight? If it's under twenty pounds you'd be fine.
It’s 28lbs with laptop and tripod, really can’t complain about the 35L just like this one better ha
@@SDA-Sound Check out the Shimoda Urban Explore 30L! I also have that bag, and it has a similar compartment up top for quick access, plus it's insanely comfortable even when loaded out. I have a review of the 25l on my channel:)
Waterproof zippers need to be lubed. Then they work perfectly. Try it. U'll be amazed. We do it with motorcycle bags all the time.
Good to know. Is there a particular lube you use?
the lowepro whisler does also have a lifetime warrenty in europe, not sure about the states.
That’s cool!
Needs a quick access pocket or two on the outside (and a key leash), maybe a hidden passport/wallet pocket on the back.
Apparently there was supposed to be to a few additional quick access pockets but they scrapped those before release
@@caffeinatedcameras Weird move by Nomatic. I feel like that’s the biggest gripe about this bag. All that surface area and no quick access pocket(s).
@@bryanbuff Yeah I'd agree.
I have too many bags but this looks great.
Man I’m right there with ya
This bag looks awesome! Great review! 🙌🏼
Thank you!
Which tripod was that at 13:50? Is it the Peak Design Aluminum? Ive got the Carbon Fiber one and was trying to gauge how it would fit.
It is the aluminum version
This was great. Just ordered the bag - excited to swap out my 12+ yr old bag for this one. Worried about those flimsy magnets and now I'm regretting not ordering the two additional straps for $19. Haha.
They’re flimsy, but somehow still do the job
@@caffeinatedcameras That’s a relief.
I have the travel pack and yeah the zipper are hard to zip, they are pretty solid quality but definitely aren’t easy to zip.
I’m going to grab the zipper grease others have mentioned on here
@@caffeinatedcamerasthey kinda broke in on mine or maybe I got used to it lol but I’m interested to see if you ever used the zipper oil?
@@holdmyown32 haven’t yet, and honestly I haven’t used the travel bag in a long time.
Such a good review! What is that rotating plate you use?
Thanks! Some cheap lazy Susan thing from Amazon
WTF??? Man I’m so sorry
Glad I’m not crazy:)
Hi
I’m planning on a trip to Central America.
I’d like to take my avata2 plus the goggles and to fpv rc plus batteries plus a canon R6 and 2 lenses, 14-35 and the 70-200 f4 rf.
You think I’ll be able to feet all that in this 25 l? 😮😊
That’s pushing it. The FPV is just so damn big
This was a great review. I can't wait to get my bag but dam those cubes look like crap compared to the kickstarter.
Glad you liked it! The cubes actually are really nice but was frustrated that they changed the design without letting backers know. But they are sending out the wire frames free Of charge.
I put Teflon powder on (All) zippers. They glide ... and die OLD. Lacking Teflon, bar soap works in a pinch.
Thanks for the hack!!!!
Maybe you can check out the thule aspect bag. Its pretty decent and has a side access for your gear.
@@axidrain I'll check it out:) Thanks!
Dude BOTH my zippers broke on my OG bag and I still haven’t gotten my everyday bag
Did you reach out to customer service about the OG? They’ll literally send you a new bag
Definitely did a couple weeks back. They quoted me 6-8 weeks, so I’m without both PM bags now 😭 Haha. Back with the old lowepro for now!
@@AaronTremblay WTF!? Dude I'm so sorry. Maybe it's cause I'm in Utah, where they're based?...
i ordered 1 camera Tech Organizer it came 2 weeks before i got the back pack then when i got the back pack it came with another so i got one for free
You have some cojones going against Big Daddy McKinnon lol. Much respect
Keep up the great work

can one stand up a RF 70-200 2.8 in that bag. hate laying it down? great review. subscribed.
nope it cant
@@TheShadowseesyou that sucks.
It can if you don’t have a laptop in it
@@caffeinatedcameras awesome!!!
@@Soul_Visuals_Photography no it doesn't even without the laptop
Glad i didn't get the V2. I changed my mind and get cheaper but better option which is pgytech onemo, it literally almost the same but cheaper and quite nicer with side access and the main zipper really smooth and open to the side. Literally cheaper and better option since the quality almost comparable. Anyways awesome video 💯 really liked it.
Awesome, glad you found a bag you love
Hi nice video,
Do you think that I can easily store a Canon Eos R with battery grip and an attached RF 24-105mm F4 lens. THX
I’m not sure. I’ll test with my 6Kpro and battery grip cause if it can fit that it will easily fit your setup
@@caffeinatedcameras okay thank you
Probably the best bag review I’ve ever watched, thanks!
Brenton, that’s incredibly kind of you, thank you so much for watching
