Today, I discovered that this actually happened to the USS Skipjack in 1942. The requisition came back “cancelled-cannot identify”. Which makes this scene even funnier, in my opinion.
The part about the boat painted pink is true too, for the same reason given in the movie.Bless you Blake Edwards, this is a nugget of cinematic gold.
Only someone that has dealt with the shambles that is the Supply Corps will realize that was the most realistic scene in the movie.
Based on real events - see the U.S.S. Skipjack!
Classic Gavin MclLeod. This gem was made the year I was born. Goofy title but funny movie.
Later in the movie, Cary Grant’s character uses the same line on someone, “Have you ever been to Las Vegas?” Lol, a classic film!
"The only requisition that's been filled is the requisition for more requisition paper!"
Greatmovie, not great egoes in the making of this film, still grat work of the cinema arts....
Come on, Moriarity. Always with them negative waves!
Woof-woof-woof, that's my other dog impression.
Tony Curtis cult started with this fantastic movie.
He was very good in this movie. Tony Curtis and Cary Grant were good friends. And of course Tony did a great Cary Grant impression.

Operation Petticoat.
U ended it @ the best part..!
Yeah, but then we'd be watching the whole...okay, I'll get the popcorn.
"I was born and raised in a neighborhood they called Noah's Ark... if you didn't travel in pairs, you didn't travel."
Gibt es den auch auf Deutsch. !!!
And they sent sand paper instead
