Thanks for making this video. The check engine light on my daughter's Kia Rio came on. The code indicated it was a misfire in cylinder 4. I decided to change the ignition coil and spark plugs for all 4 cylinders at the same time. All went well on cylinders 3 and 4, however, cylinders 1 and 2 had different looking coils from 3 and 4. The coils in cylinders 1 and 2 were a little shorter and on the lower tip was a tiny spring. Additionally, I could not get access to the spark plugs in cylinders 1 and 2 because there was a funnel-like metal sleeve of some sort in the cylinders that blocked any chance of getting a socket wrench down the hole. The metal sleeve seemed permanent, at least I think so. And at the bottom of the metal sleeve, only the very tip of the spark plug that was in place could be reached. I assume that's where the tiny spring on the bottom of the ignition coil touched. Anyhow, given this, I just changed the coils and plugs in cylinders 3 and 4 and I left 1 and 2 alone. Not sure why the set-up in cylinders 1 and 2 were different. Can anyone offer insight?
I changed the plugs in my 97 Camry when I got it last year and there was a couple tablespoons of old oil inside with the first spark plug, how bad is that
The tool you used to insert the plugs is a great idea. I never thought of that. Thanks, Mike.
Hi brian, usually I got the sparkplug socket with the holder inside, I couldn't find it, thanks mike
Good video, to the point, good little spark plug tricks. Well done. Thank you.
Thanks, mike
Thanks

It don't sound good, but as long as it keeps running,
Mike Haduck - Travel - Mechanics - Music people tell me they run forever
Valve cover gasket with the spark plugs gaskets needed changing.
Is there supposed to be oil on the spark plug sensor when you pull it out my car's been running fine but there's oil all over it 🤔
Valve cover seals are leaking .
Could you clear Recommended spark blue dimensions for rio 2006 please
Hi, I always ask at the auto store, they almost always have the correct information, thanks
Mine just went out on my Kia Rio 2011 trying to see how to take off my cover because that's stuck on there
Thanks, Mike

Who's dad is this? And thank you so much.
Thanks,
Spark plugs are completely stuck, what I do now?
Hi Anand, take it to your mechanic. Some vehicles especially Fords have big problems with that,
Use a breaker next time
Warm up your engine next time before you do it
I need to get this done my idle is a little shaky
Thanks Hunter. It can't hurt, thanks Mike
Okay when I went to the park for yesterday they gave me six spark plugs instead of four where are the other two
Hi April, if it is a 4cylinder engine it takes four plugs, if it's a 6 cylinder it takes 6, I didnt do a video on a 6 cylinder, mike
