- After years in the wilderness, 90s TV star Mr Blobby is making his triumphant return to the stage in Peter Pan at the Chrysalis Theatre in Milton Keynes. But how is he finding life back in the spotlight?
For those looking forward to seeing Mr Blobby in pantomime, they are going to have to wait just a few more weeks. The production - like many others over the Christmas period - has been temporarily postponed in light of the Covid resurgence. But only for a few weeks.

Don't make light of acts of treason
Marvellous interview, shame we didn't get to hear Blobby's thoughts on the tensions in the north sea over fishing rights or other pressing issues.
People who think Mr Blobby is nightmare fuel clearly haven't heard of his co-host on "Noel's House Party"
LOL
As someone born in 2005 who has never heard of this character, the thumbnail made me piss myself
To be honest, I loved Mr Blobby during my childhood, and I don't care what anyone else thinks. To me, he was the pure embodiment of the 1990s, a reminder of what a fun decade it was. Not to mention it was a far simpler time, compere to today's world of fake news and fearmongering propaganda. If time machines are ever invented in my lifetime, I would not hesitate to go back to those good old days again. At the end of the day, a character like Mr Blobby wasn't everyone's cup of tea.
Aye
British children’s TV characters are nightmare fuel to us in the US
Worzel Gummidge.
originally he was a parody of Barney the Dinosaur and on a family show, not a children's show, but he was so popular with little kids that he became a kid's character
@@Elephantstonica THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING. Jon Pertwee in that scarecrow getup is my sleep paralysis demon.
Bodger and Badger is a cult classic...
For those who don’t know: Mr. Blobby was a popular character in Noel’s house party In the late 1990s and early 2000s he was not intended to be known as scary and creepy to children as his moods are shown by his voice pitch but as some kids thought of Mr.Blobby as scary because of his animatronic like voice as it was dark and scary Mr. Blobby was just known in the UK for the amazing acting and how kids loved it based on the looks and some even thought it was educational as though some kids cried from the scary ness of his voices it wasn’t really intended and was just his voice to make it sound realistic as a parent even jumped on the stage when they where preforming once because his daughter was crying, as in the early 1990s there was even a theme park for Mr.blobby as he was first sited into the “Gotcha” segment of Noel’s house party and his theme park was closed in 1998 as people in the early 2000s even started to break into the now empty Bobbyland as they tried to put up cameras to stop this but eventually the site was demolished in 1998 having it now destroyed and all broken down with nothing inside
In-depth explanation. U like “as” alot tho
I actually enjoyed Mr Blobby as a kid, and I was pretty young, I'd say at least 3 years old. Memories of him would come and go and I would wonder if the tapes my mum owned were real.
He was absolutely intended to be scary and creepy. He was a parody of costumed characters in children's television. It was an accident that kids took him as a straight example of a lovable children's TV character, and they just rolled with it for the $$$. Blobby soon became what he was intended to mock, and only after the public got sick of him did he start returning to his non-kid-oriented, parodic roots.
Still way more coherent in answering questions than Boris
Return of the 90s UK TV SuperLegend. You were missed Mr Blobby...
Back in the 90s I had a recurring summer job with a guy called Phil that owned lots of bouncy castle type items, as well as a means to play music over the fields, or wherever that particular day was. The children of course loved a day out rushing around bouncing, sliding or taking a turn on a Go-Kart...
To help with concluding the day on a happy-go-lucky note, one of us would have to wear the "Mr. Blobby" costume, dance a lap of the field being chased by incredibly excited kids, then end up back in wherever the main building was to change out of the costume to finish the day. Mum's and carers enjoyed the days of bringing their kids to a slightly easier day of care, they obviously had to stay with their youngsters, but it wasn't an intensive day for them.
It was fun for all really, well I enjoyed setting up, taking down as well as getting paid for what amounts to hanging out in the sunshine 🌞 what teenager doesn't like that? 🤷🏻♂️
Blobby needs to be cancelled, I have no idea how he ever got to be popular in the 90’s
Ladles and gentlemen, presenting, your next Prime Minister!
A considerable improvement
At least in his case, he's not meant to be taken seriously and would make us laugh.
I've never heard of Mr Blobby until now and OMG, he is hilarious 😂

He was the 90's goat
Seriously?!
Talks more sense and is less corrupt then Boris I guess
@@b0r3d0n1ine I'm not from the UK
Mr Blobby is my sleep paralysis demon! 😭
I'd rather trust him in charge than our current PM.
Less corrupt and doesn't lie at least
@@chrismurphy6070 Even Barny doesn't lie.
Can you tell the difference?
I've said it elsewhere but Mr. Blobby could once only say 'Blobby'. Now he's saying actual words like 'yeah' and 'bye'? He's been learning language skills while away these past 25 years, I see.
Yes. I'm a bit disappointed he says more than just 'Blobby' now. I see it as a form of dumbing down....they think that people can't cope with just 'blobby' and have to make him easier to understand,
@@davidsanderson5918 True
I'm sorry - I am the only one who found Mr. Blobby NIGHTMARE fuel as a kid? No?
Yep your the only one
No
No it was the reason why he was cancelled in the first place but they are trying to bring him back
The ghost of Christmas parties past ?

At last serious cutting edge journalism from the BBC, they mostly fall short in that respect.
This is the state of the BBC now.
Just about sums up the BBC

This is the thing of nightmares...glad the Atlantic Ocean is between Mr Blobby and North America...

Bring back nose house parse with Mr blobby on BBC one😢😢😢😢
Blobbyy blobyy bloby
I love the juxtaposition of the extremely depressing headlines about covid and murders and job vacancies against the barely contained chaotic spectacle that is blobby
I went to that pantomime and saw him
Mr. Blobby's the British Prime Minister now.
That thing looks like it's made of vintage nightmares & leftover Halloween candy ●__●
i love that description
The BBC, down to a tee.
Mr blobby looks to civilised in that studio. Why didn't he get more crazy for the fun of it? 🤪
Probably a combination of there only being a lot of expensive equipment rather than replaceable set dressings; and not wanting to get too close to people for COVID reasons.
@@SourceOfBeing and thats why it wasn't funny
@@SourceOfBeing Not to mention that I'm fairly sure there was a different guy in there to the one who protrayed Mr Blobby in the 90s and 00s (Barry Killaby) as the portrayal was different in as much as he had a wider vocabulary too (back in the day he literally could only say variations of 'blobby'), as well as being less manic. As for the equipment, don't forget the cameras and most of the rest of the equipment are automatic and could potentially have run him over when he wandered off from the stage part (I think that's why the newscaster was asking if he was allowed there).
@@MrDannyDetail obviously it's a new Mr blobby but the old Mr blobby wouldn't have cared about health and safety. I can tell you found this absolutely hilarious to.
