Beautiful.. When it comes for my playing, it all comes from the heart, where emotions are fully understood, expression is the same thing, but you allow yourself to really let it out and just be happy for how your own emotions can change the way you play, my emotions change the way I play. Really when I write my own music I express myself to my furthest reaches, simply by the sound explains my emotions, as well as a lot of people.

When I asked her I felt the same you feel. Gothic might be used in many ways but as I understand it it´s actually what music makes you feel what I understand as gothic. Therefore I relate these romantic, sad and melancholic emotions to gothis music and also the atmosphere it creates. I enjoyed reading your point of view of what gothic is. Best regards :)

I'm not talking on behalf of Mahafsoun, just expressing my point of view. I believe she calls it gothic not in a conventional way, like we call gothic The Sisters Of Mercy, Tristania or old Theatre Of Tragedy and a bunch other great bands. For me it's about the emotions that her music gives birth to. The essence of gothic. Romantic, sensitive, yet heartbreaking and melancholic. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how that music makes me feel. And to me, gothic seems like the more suitable description :)

Have you ever heard the doom metal band 'My Dying Bride'? This is a beautiful piece and I think it's darkness would work well with some kind of grid on a guitar... or even in a black metal song. I f'n love this. :D
