  • As a mom to a large family, I have been through a lot with parenting, pregnancy, homeschooling, etc. We have learned a lot along the way and how some key things that work.
    With being a large family we get asked all sorts of questions and ideas about to handle certain parenting dynamics. I love helping other moms with ideas of what has worked for us.
    A couple weeks ago I put a poll out on Instagram and on RUclips Community page asking for you questions... and today I'm answering them! I hope this Q and A helps you guys out! I love answering your questions and getting to know each of you better along the way!

    I loved this Q&A! So many questions I always wanted to know but too polite to ask. 🤣 I've never caught how old you are, if you've said or if that's private I understand. I have 7, ages 2 thru 19. 4 girls & 3 boys. I've exclusively nursed all 7. Our youngest is 25 months now and we're not pregnant yet. She still nurses a lot. We've placed our family size in God's hands since getting married at 18 and they're all spaced 2 to 4 years apart primarily from breastfeeding. I'm 37 now and the "not pregnant yet" worries me. I pray about it but still worry about my age and fertility possibly waning. It's been heavy on my mind lately. Thank you for the reminder that it's out of our hands and God's will is sovereign. I needed to hear this tonight. 😘 I've enjoyed getting to better know you & your wonderful family. 💗

    "It's called Get. A. Job" 🤣 Best response! 👏
    I just recently found your channel and have been enjoying it. I've always wanted a large family, but have struggled with infertility. From the beginning of our marriage, my husband and I wanted to put the number of children we would have in His hands, yet I didn't like that the answer might be "less" instead of "more". However, through infertility the Lord has taught me so much, and I am now blessed with two healthy children that are a testimony to His faithfulness. 🥰 I don't know if we will ever be able to have more, and I still struggle with feeling like that chapter may be closed without my having a choice or say in the matter, but I know that His plan will work out for my (and my family's) good.
    That was a lot to unload on a first comment 😳🤣. Anyway, thanks for sharing your life and family!

    I really loved how you said children are as expensive as you make them. I feel like allot of jealousy comes with it as well so people say stuff in the moment to justify themselves. My sister in law was planning and trying hard to have a child and I unexpectedly had twins due a week before her. When I found out the genders she accidentally texted me instead of her friend on how disgusted she was with me because it was her turn to have kids. And all that to say their opinions shift after the years gone by but of course my family still remembers. I just find it hard to not take offense and its great to hear positive opinions from other moms like you.
    Thanks for your family positivity.

    Sorry for so many comments. I’m commenting as I watch. I’ve had breast implants myself after baby number three. And while I have continued to be able to successfully breast-feed I’ve also noticed that I get mastitis or severely plugged ducts frequently with the last four babies. To the point that I say I’m not going to nurse anymore ( then for one reason or other change my mind ). I just find it’s fascinating that you had a similar experience.

    I WISH my babies had nursed for 45 minutes! I loved that time, but after the first few weeks, all of my kids would nurse 10 minutes and be done for 3-4 hours, then 10 minutes again…it was convenient, but not snuggly😁

    I totally think you made the right decision to bottle feed (even if you hadn't needed the breast reduction). With so many children, it is HARD to sit and nurse a baby while trying to juggle x, y and z. I have tried to nurse all but one of my children and have only been successfully this last time with my fifth. We are still nursing at 16 months but this child is the most dependent and still wakes every two hours at night! I told my husband the next baby gets a bottle! The only reason I continued to nurse was bc we had a lip revision done in order to nurse that was so traumatic and I felt like I owed it to my ds to nurse as long as he wishes. It's hard, it's exhausting, it's put a huge damper on my relationship with my preschooler and looking back I think I should have formula fed. I'm on team fed is best!!!! You are an amazing mama!!! Kudos to you 😊

    • @FieldsFullHouse
      @FieldsFullHouse  3 года назад

      Thank you! Yes the time it takes to nurse can be so long! (I do miss it) but I also have so much I need to do and I want to be available to all my children. It has worked best for this season of life I’m in.

    • @InHimAlone

      @@FieldsFullHouse Well...we have been unseasonable cold the last few weeks here, even for us. We have been in the 20s and 30s, normally it should be 40s-60s. Last week we got 7 inches of snow and a good amount has stuck around! I guess we broke an all time October snowfall record. All our beautiful falls leaves got snow dumped on them. It is supposed to get back to the 40s and 50s next week...at least I hope. I do not enjoy our negative winter temps, but I also can't do the heat of your summers. Do you have a schedule for math? Or any who struggle and take a long time? Or get a lot wrong and have to re do problems? We use teaching textbooks and I couldn’t imagine sharing one computer with 5 kiddos!

    • @FieldsFullHouse
      @FieldsFullHouse  3 года назад

      We don’t have a set schedule. And we NEED 2 more computers... it’s on the list soon! lol! Bc that is a huge issue. The older girls math can take them a little while to get it done. Jackson does it first thing in the morning. So that helps. We have had to change the problems and have kids go back to make sure they understood the concept for sure. Our biggest issue is only having one computer.
