This isn't even a question to ask... L himself said in the oneshot manga that "If you measure good and evil deeds by current laws, I would be responsible for many crimes."
So basically people are shiting kira for being criminal employing harsh and non legal actions on his justice but L is a hero for fighting Kira even when his method are maybe not as radical but still ignoring rules, stealing, torturing and playing with other people's life
I think the biggest difference between L and Light though is their 1) motive and ultimate goal, and 2) although flawed, L ultimately has a good heart whereas Light became pure evil.
I wouldn't call it a heart, through anime and manga it became even more clear, that he isn't using the normal set of justice He got a familiar picture of justice as Light, but he wouldn't get a mass murderer. He probably wouldn't even have interest in using the death Note, but in fact, not because he is the good guy, more because it wouldn't be his thing. For L the Kira-Case is a game. But still a great character
L isn't a good guy. He is just a bored psychopath who has figured out that his survival chances aren't that high on the wrong path. He even admits this in a movie. Search: L monster speech on youtube
L did not have a good heart. He could not care less about justice or doing the right thing, he says this himself in the one shot manga. He only solves cases for his own entertainment, and what be deems has challenging and interesting. Just like light, he is also extremely egoistical who just wanted to win.
tbh you could also argue that light's motive was somewhat just, just mixed with a lot of ego and twisted methods. in the end they were both targetting criminals, just in different ways.
L is not good at all. He wanted to solve the kira case just because it was funny. For him it was a game to prove that he was the best. Even Near says in the one shot ( tge first one) that L would have not caught the new "kira" because it was boring and useless. L and Light are not justice. Justice is sochiro but as the real justice he died too
Honestly, being the kind of detective L is, he must have known for sure that Lind was guilty, somehow. But anyway, we know L isn't supposed to be a hero, he's just like Light, and will try to win by any means necessary.
Nah, that roof in the rain scene showed L realising that he was soon going to be killed and still suspecting that Light was Kira. If we were willing to do anything to win he would have pushed Light off that roof to guarantee his success, but his sense of justice overrides his desire to win.
I doubt anyone cares if he breaks the law or not. He's literally the same guy who upon having his name mentioned instantly silenced an entire conference room for the ICP Interpol, an organization which is basically the United Nations of crime and law enforcement around the world. He's too important of an asset to be arrested or fired by the governments all because he broke several laws. And if they did they wouldn't be able to find him anyway. To put it simply, he is the law and is above everything else.
L only lost because Light had outside help and superior knoledge of the supernatural. If L knew about the death note Light would be in prison in less than three days.
@@_ashxra you underestimate Light, he beat L in their chess match but it wouldn't have been 3 days as from day one he was pretty clued up on things and had a feeling Light was Kira but had no proof or anything knowledge alone wouldn't have been enough he needs hard evidence not speculations.
Sucepction without proof is meaningless. L suspected light at the beginning of the series, yet he had no proof, it made him frustrated and hasty. So He kept saying ( L what's are the chances that light is really Kira? He often replied 5% or 7%. That's a minor percentage to put someone under surveillance or to follow every action of them. Well, obviously L lied to us and more importantly to the world because without evidence in terms of the law light is a purely innocent guy. And Here lies, L biggest mistake. He was overconfident in his own plan while underestimating the fact, the monstrous Kira is right beside him. If L would have taken drastic measures he definitely could convict light of being Kira. But L couldn't do that right? Because he is such a kind-hearted person with compassion towards human life. Nope, he is only delusional. Let's reminisce in one of L first moves, He broadcasted on TV a criminal who is sentenced to death at the same day, (the criminal has the letter l in his name) in order to find Kira's locations by pissing Kira of and made Kira kill him. Well, you may think Kira is a mass murderer who takes the law to his hands. That's may be right, however, L is no better. He used the criminal to his own benefit merely because he is already sentenced to death so that's justified. By using this kind of logic L is a murderer as well, who has the right to decide one' fate? Let's just take advantage of all the criminals that would be executed soon. This is a slippery road that would lead to Kira's perspective. Disclaimer: I love L as a character, I just criticized parts of the story who seemed irrational to me.
@@sagi1lol66 but Light decide who should be dead base on just himself and even by emotion sometime. Thats not justice. But the criminal that L use is going to be executed anyway, his dead punishment is already prearrange by authorities, meaning its legal and the criminal is truly deserve that punishment. But Light didnt, he dont care about authorities or anything , he just kill becuz he think they shud die.
L has actually already confessed *“It's not a sense of justice. Figuring out difficult cases is my hobby. **_If you measured good and evil deeds by current laws, I would be responsible for many crimes._** The same way you all like to solve mysteries and riddles, or clear video games more quickly. For me too, it's simply prolonging something I enjoy doing. That's why I only take on cases that pique my interest. It's not justice at all. And if it means being able to clear a case, I don't play fair, I'm a dishonest, cheating human being who hates losing.”*- L Lawliet (Death Note One-Shot Special)(Awesome video by the way)
i love that. i wish more fans would be aware of that quote. it is annoying how one character usually the 'good character' would have their hands tied when it would come to going after the the 'threat' L is just as Machiavellian as anyone who he's interested in hunting down and playing with for a while.
He also told Chief Yagami that he was childish and hates losing when he made his first appearance. That sort of gives away that he would do anything to catch Kira :P Although I kind of wonder what L actually thought of when he lost to Light in the tennis match o-o Besides what he was saying in his mind of course.
1) Taylor wasnt Japanese. L is known to not be Japanese. He is from another country. 2) The Yagami house was given permission at the end by Light's dad to do it.
1. Where did you find out Taylor's residence? I can't find ANY information regarding who he is beyond that he was a murderer. L Still resided in Japan, and thus still had to abide by their laws. 2. If I give someone the ability to spy on my house, it doesn't make it legal under any circumstances.
Lind might have been an inmate from another country, therefore, not a subject to Japanese law. Anyways, this video should not blow anyone's mind. Everyone knows L likes to play a little dirty. It's all part of battling with pure wits against someone of his same caliber.
DuoReview I thought that no one was allow to record someone in their property unless consent is given, and if light dad gave the consent then is legal I believe so, correct me if I'm wrong
I thought it's no secret that L was a sociopath. In the relight, he admits to not understand human emotions or cares about it. He only became a detective because it was interesting to him. He doesn't catch criminals because for justice or something like that. He takes cases because they interest him and challenges L intellectually.
Yeah. Both Light and L claim that they are motivated by the need to bring justice to criminals (and that may be true to an extent) but they each do what they do out of boredom and in their one on one mental battle, are driven more by their ego than their concepts of justice.
I like how DeathNote set up the Story as Light being the Villain and L being the Hero...But in reality, Light is actually an anti-Villain and L being the anti-Hero. You don't get that much of Anti Villains vs Anit Heros in stories.
O Wonderful World What is an anti-villain? Don't tell me it's a villain who thinks he's doing the right thing because that's still a villain (with a motivation).
Gehrman, the prideful wanderer Watch the ending of the second episode and you will understand why bought of them say :,,I am Justice! "The answer to everything in this anime is there. nah, deathnote is a controversial anime ever since the beginning. i mean this anime has divided us into 2 side. one which stood up for Light's ideal, and the other one which think Light is a psycopath and his way is the way of a villain and he needs to be stopped. well for me, in this anime, no one is wrong and right. either L and Light di bad things but they also did good things at the same time. well im on the Light side anyway.
Ashlyne Sutcliff no. “Borrowing” is getting something from someone with CONSENT! stealing something then giving it back is in fact NOT borrowing but theft.
The issue with L’s kidnapping of Kira (specifically when he let Misa go) is L DID have sufficient evidence to put her away, they found the hair on the tapes sent in to Sakura TV. They had her confined to get a confession to make it undeniable. L was forced to let them go by the rest of task force because criminals started dying with both her and Light confined. I believe if it was up to L they would not have been let go

Still he calls light a criminal and is breaking the law and in the process of trying to find who Kira is L is the one breaking the law as well regardless if light who was obviously killing people.
The police were the ones that called him in the first place which means they put all responsibility on him, so he could do whatever it takes to find kira
You Just Made The List That's got nothing to do with what I said. Also, he's committed several more crimes than that. Now, you sir, need to take a moment and think, "Why do I think it's okay to sexually assault women?"
Taylor the Impaler sexual assault? Oh,yeah , he raped her. Well she slapped him so i think she sexualy assaulted him Plus that him and Light raped eachother all the time Lol
DuoReview other than the ass grabbing none of those crimes were after he left the government if i remember correctly, and i don't think Light is edgy enough to justify murdering someone over an ass grab
Saying the ass grabbing was after he left the government implies that the same could be said for the kidnapping, torture, and spying on the Yotsuba corporation and its employees.
In my perspective, L only did those on Kira's Case since it was already extraordinary. On the other cases he handled, I think he'll be happy to talk in front of his computer and receive document from watari. Kira became a global comcern so he probably received the rights to do any course of action
I agree, but that's what makes L cool. He doesn't follow the law all the time, but his sense of justice. I like to draw comparisons to Lelouch vi Britannia (albeit a loose one).
"Kira is childish and he hates losing, I'm childish too and i also hate to lose" seeing his this statement its clear he wud have done everything already! To catch kira ,ANYTHING! Even if It takes his own life....he also took some illegal actions too but we can't forget if someone like L wasn't the rival for kira.....kira wud never have been catched ...even if it considers l to be criminal....we all love him! ❤️
Amv Galaxy - yeah the FBI and CIA have done and still do some pretty fucked up things that have since been declassified, including quite a bit of torture, and I would consider them using unwilling subjects of experiments like MK Ultra kidnapping and reading this: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enhanced_interrogation_techniques they also used sexual humiliation as a form of torture so they do/have sexually assaulted people.
This video is grasping for straws. L is not perfect, but he isn't a Criminal. And even if he was, none of those things you mentioned would be a Kira's death penalty. Kira has a lot of gray area, and don't kill everyone who committed a small crime. The only reason he killed L was because he was in the way
Kira was a criminal from the get go. He tried to kill L live on tv and he wasn't bad.... Light is a hypocrite and would be dangerous once crime died down he would've targeted petty criminals or people who speak out against Kira or don't follow his ideals, there would be no such thing as freedom with someone like him around.
L is not perfect, but he isn't a Criminal. That couldn't be more wrong, a criminal by definition is anyone who does something illegal, L did indeed perform a few illegal acts so he's technically a criminal.
L Is Simply The Better Character For Me Well He Is A Detective And Not A Guy Who Provides Justice Well Most Of His Works Were For Justice But L Toyed With A Guy Who Could Literally Kill Him By Knowing His Name Genius

when misa was arrested she was charged with being the second Kira (evidence was included)so wouldn't that make the whole 50 day interrogation legal cuz technically she was a prisoner ..
+kyle pratt I wouldn't go as far as "pure evil." His intention wasn't to harm anyone, it was to put an end to murder and theft. He was a dick about the way he did it, and the end result was a pile of dead bodies and a world engulfed in fear, but that was mostly from poor judgment. To be fair, he did manage to significantly lower global crime rates somehow (even though that wouldn't happen in real life), so whether he was evil or not is up to significant philosophical debate. I think the knee-jerk reaction of calling him a straight-up villain is because he manipulates people and has a huge ego, but we see that in characters like Sherlock Holmes. The idea behind Death Note is that with that amount of power, anything you use it for will corrupt. L didn't actually care about the philosophical question posed by Kira's actions. Even when pressed, he chose his words to irritate Light to make it more likely he would give himself up in a fit of anger, not out of any real consideration. He manipulated those around him as well, and his end-goal was just to solve a case. His intentions weren't anywhere near as pure. Whether Kira being caught would be better for the world or not is another matter, but L is _technically_ more evil-hearted than Light is.
However in this state of panic I think L would have got a pass from all authorities 100s of people have died and from what we see in the series L is the only thing stopping light I'm certain he got a pass from the authorities
Well, yes, he definitely got a pass, or rather would have if he were still alive when Kira was caught. However, had Light beaten Near and set up his own system, those would've all been heinous crimes punishable by death.
lmao not just hundreds maybe hundreds in the first day or 2 lol you've gotta put into perspective that this went on from like 2006 2007 ish to like 2013 and it was worldwide so any and every criminal even if it was a small crime was killed if Kira was aware of it as well as completely innocent people who got in the way of Kira or possibly just disliked him so more like 100s of millions
DuoReview I really don't mind the rest of the points in this but the first point about Lind l Taylor bugs me because there was no proof he was Japanese, his name was even written in English characters however rest of the theory is solid

Mum: Who do want to be son? Me: L! Mum: Who is he? Me: A pro detective and also a criminal according to duorecords! Mum: *screams at me for trying to be a criminal*
I have observed something from death note most of the characters of death note kinda resembles Batman characters if you don't believe me here is proof 1.L is basically Batman both are considered to be the greatest detective of all time, both are above the law, both identities are unknown to the world and, both kicked there rivals in the face lol. 2.light and ryuk resembles two personalities of the joker light is a psychopath that is very manipulative and smart like the joker and ryuk wants the cat and mouse game to continue cause it's fun he also has a strange sense of humour like the joker 3.misa is like Harley Quinn, both are manipulated by there love interest, both love and would do anything for them. 4.Watari is pretty much like Alfred, both are Butler's that serve crime fighting detectives and, both are pretty much the only family left for the two detectives.(sniff) 5.chief yagami is like commissioner Gordon ,both are in high positions in the police ,both have strong sense of justice, both works with the two detectives, both look really similar as well. I don't know about the other characters maybe mello and near kinda resembles Batman's robins:-P bit that's just my opinion tell me what your thoughts in this theory is it possible that ohba maybe a Batman fan lol
Though a lot of people say otherwise, I always saw L to be like Light in a lot of ways: thinking he is above the law, not caring about sacrificing others to achieve his means and having "the end justifies the means" attitude. The only difference is that L has a position that grants him the power to do stuff like that without being questioned while Light doesn't. So I woudln't be surpised if he did stuff like that before. (as much as I love him, I must admit that he is not the guy with a strong sense of justice, good heart and high value of human life that most of the fandom sees him as).
Ironically he's also like Light in a lot of ways that he doesn't like to acknowledge. It's why I like the show. There's a lot of subtlety to it that no one seems to pay attention to.
DuoReview who knows what other crimes he has committed in past cases? I recall in the manga after all of the events of death note, Near speaks about how L said it isn't a sense of justice that drives him, it's the need to win (also the monster speech in Relight is very telling.) L has no issue 'bending the rules' so to speak in his favour, and he knows he can get away with it because of who he is. L is far more twisted than the fandom acknowledges
correct me if i'm wrong, but L shouldn't get charged for any crimes in the BB murder case.Since it was Beyond that did the crimes and we barely saw the actual L.But then again...in the endi Naomi did say that L touched her....And that she can put him in jail.....And he did use her as a pawn...aka manipulating her actions and almost getting her killed...
Why the hell would people get mad at you for including parts of the manga? Especially if more information or facts can be found in said manga. The more video content you make, the happier otaku I am. I love your vids.
I actually thought L was going to be a criminal before we got to see him out in the open for the first time, his shirt looks like a straight jacket and his room in the first few episodes was completely empty, it looked like he was in an insane asylum
Detective's gotta do what a detective's in order to catch some killers. You brought up some good points. L could use a john Watson to his Sherlock Holmes huh?
If he had commit these crimes no one will be able to touch him . Do you think the world greatest detective leave any trace behind plus the police is also joined with him and he has the support of wanted criminals like the conman and have high connections. No one knows his identity until kira case and you can say he is running his own government. He is pretty much of an outlaw.
So many L's fan girls.... Duo tell us more about the shinigami, their realm and all.... Do you think that every shinigami was once a human who possessed a death note???
Noted, if a cute man gets my Death Row husband killed on live televison because he played as him, I will forgive the faceless man who may be cute as L is faceless to most people. Not a good way to obsolve criminals, fiction or not.
Ilytaehyungie If you talking about the original L, he is kinda cute and funny. Even though L is a pervert, he is still cute. If I had a life note, I would use it on L = L Lawliet or Lind L. Tailor. I forgot XD
If I remember correctly, the anime explains this issue in the first few episodes. L was basically green lit to do anything he wanted by the UN in the name of catching Kira so technically he was completely sanctioned to do anything he wanted in the eyes of the law.
Gabe Anderson but you also need to consider the fact that light himself also broke moral laws. killing people, manipulating and destroying families, cheating on two women...all violate moral laws. So really L was only as righteous as Light/Kira
Sometime, u just need to pick a knife to fight with a knife. U cant play by the rule too much like some mr. Ethnic shit in cmt. U arent gonna fight barehand with s1 with a knife. So can say self defend, then L is also defend, not only himselve, but entire world. U still say its unlawful and break human law? Stop being so stupid unless u actually fight a knife person barehand
@@TayDoesStuff The UN cannot overrule a country's private decision, so if multiple countries gave L free reign so long as Kira got caught then the UN wouldn't be allowed to arrest him afterwards.
DuoReview I personally would imagine that eventually light would have gone public then some sort of world wide big brother government would be established
Here's a theory: I have an analysis of the nicknames "L" and "N". Also it seems like since the first "L's" death, a curse was sparked. The first "L" took his first and only "L" (loss) by dying and losing to Kira/Light. Then Light/Kira becomes the next "L" detective. I interpret "N", who was to be the successor to the first "L" as the new best detective, to not only simply be his first initial (since his name is "Near") but to also perhaps stand for "Next". He was supposed to be the NEXT "L" detective. The "'L' taking an 'L' curse" eventually catches up to Kira/Light who was the current unofficial "L". "N" was the one who handed him the "L" (loss) by revealing, with undeniable evidence, that Light is Kira (shortly after, Kira/Light dies at the hands of Ryuk). "N" of course then becomes the new "L". But perhaps he should be called "W" right? Cuz he got the "W" (win) over Light/Kira. Well not quite, the "curse of 'L' taking an 'L'" after the first "L's" death strikes again since the current "L's" lifespan will unavoidably be shortened. Therefore, I rest my case that there is indeed, a "Curse of 'L'" and the initials/pseudonyms "L" and "N" are significant and representational.
theres no theory here you just made a strawman out of crimes he commited, which were justified and under control of police, in order to prove a point that L directly addressed in the anime.
L's evidence on Misa wasn't something to be easily dismissed by any means, in his conversation with Light over the phone, he told him they found hairs and other fibrous links on the envelopes sent with the videos in them, which were acclaimed as "Kira" messages [though debunked as the 2nd Kira's]. That's pretty set in stone, she was donezo
This is the weakest argument I’ve ever heard. Light’s dad actually suggested cameras all over his house, so L had police approval and the homeowners approval. And wouldn’t stealing a phone be a bigger crime than touching someone’s butt? Which brings us to the next point. Neither of those crimes is punishable by death, something you spend a lot of time on when talking about the fake L that Light killed. 1. Light killed him, not L. 2. That guy clearly had more due process than almost all of Light’s victims, since, as you say, there’s a very short window where a convicted death row inmate can be legally killed, meaning Light probably wasn’t getting many of those guys either. In fact, it seems far more likely that L would have been able to find someone in that “sweet spot” of appeals being out but not executed yet than Light would. 3. L didn’t know for sure that Light would kill the guy. Light didn’t know the guy was a criminal. He thought the guy was L, a great detective, an innocent detective. Clearly Kira was willing to break that moral code long before he learned that L had broken laws. As to the kidnapping and torture, which yes, are the best arguments here... we don’t actually know much about the torture beyond the fact that she was kept chained up like Hannibal lector for a long time. Also, you refer a lot to Japanese laws, but it’s not just japan. The CIA itself gets involved, because Kira didn’t limit himself to Japan. Add to that the fact that Kira could kill instantly with god-like powers, and do you really think it would have gone down differently irl? Just imagine what we would have done to bin laden if we’d captured him alive right after 9/11, and he was just a man who had to kill the old fashioned way. Basically, if L is a criminal, then Light is one a million times over and should have written his own name in the book.
Nobody said Light isn’t a criminal so... what are you arguing lol. You wrote all of that just to agree that L is a criminal, at least you tried. Hold that *L *though.
So i guess you need to rewatch the series. They specifically mentioned that Lind L Tailor was an American death row inmate. So your entire theory is pretty much already disproven. He also never tortured Misa he just tied her up. You really need to rethink your theories
The guy Light killed instead of L was probably not Japanese, also that was not an execution, they told him if he corporates they could not execute him, and cops use criminals often for undercover stuff. L is working with law enforcement, he is probably above us in his rights, like in fiction many characters have a license to kill. I do not think he actually broke any law but that does not mean he is not morally grey, even his motives are not altruistic, he sees it as just a game, not justice.
Although the first one... i feel they could have made a deal... Think of this... Maybe they gave him some deal... Like maybe life in prison instead of death row if he does this... Would you take it? There is this one guy we think can kill you just by having your name and seeing your face. If you do this we will make it life in prison instead of death row. Pffff really? Am i on punked? Sure lets do this little show thing..
Hey duo.. i was thinking about making a youtube channel recently, and making actual anime content. If i do would you want to collab sometime? Like after i get some videos.
Nightmare Kurumi Also L was working under the suspicion that Lind L. Tailor would be killed so it's 2nd degree murder at worst and manslaughter at best.
Nightmare Kurumi I was always sure that he was on Death Row and they made a deal. L could have convinced him to do something meaningful with his death or he could have been okay with it because he was going to die anyway or maybe Light had killed a friend of his and he wanted to get revenge. At least these were some of the things I assumed after watching the second episode.

Even Near says in the one shot ( tge first one) that L would have not caught the new "kira" because it was boring and useless. L and Light are not justice. Justice is sochiro but as the real justice he died too
"one must sacrifice the humanity in order to defeat a monster"
That is a good statement. Still means he's a criminal. XD
the godly flame soulaymana Spoilers but since L lost to Light it was all for nothing really
It did help out later to an extent. (Being vague for spoiler reasons.)
Javonte Tyler but he couldn't have known that and it did help
the godly flame soulaymana I know just saying my poor Misa was tortured for nothing
Lind was a criminal on death row set to die that exact day. They just shifted how he'd die. Nothing illegal there
Aquila Aurelius they killed him in public i think that is illegal
@@davidcapes1567 justice isn't really a thing in death note since Light and L both say they are following justice.
Kai Cyreus L declared that Lind was going to be executed that day
I doubt anyone cares if he breaks the law or not.
Above everything else? He lost to the inmature Light Yagami. By his own "darwinian" standards he lost.
Rupnit Santwal lol yeah the theory guy sounds like he's hating on L for not being a perfect angle like wtf
LOL ANGLE ITS ANGEL
He also told Chief Yagami that he was childish and hates losing when he made his first appearance. That sort of gives away that he would do anything to catch Kira :P Although I kind of wonder what L actually thought of when he lost to Light in the tennis match o-o Besides what he was saying in his mind of course.
Rupnit Santwal didn't near say this or am I remembering wrong?
The consent of the property owner is not needed if there is a warrant for them to install cameras
Also happens that the owner of the house that allows cameras to be placed is chief of police...
L isn't a sociopath
I like how DeathNote set up the Story as Light being the Villain and L being the Hero...But in reality, Light is actually an anti-Villain and L being the anti-Hero. You don't get that much of Anti Villains vs Anit Heros in stories.
I know. It's a really interesting dynamic to base a story off of, but it's difficult to write and not seem ham-fisted.
true
O Wonderful World What is an anti-villain? Don't tell me it's a villain who thinks he's doing the right thing because that's still a villain (with a motivation).

nah, deathnote is a controversial anime ever since the beginning. i mean this anime has divided us into 2 side. one which stood up for Light's ideal, and the other one which think Light is a psycopath and his way is the way of a villain and he needs to be stopped.
well for me, in this anime, no one is wrong and right. either L and Light di bad things but they also did good things at the same time.

Not really.

DuoReview other than the ass grabbing none of those crimes were after he left the government if i remember correctly, and i don't think Light is edgy enough to justify murdering someone over an ass grab
Saying the ass grabbing was after he left the government implies that the same could be said for the kidnapping, torture, and spying on the Yotsuba corporation and its employees.
funny piece of advise every time someone says "above the law" be ready for things to get shitty on both sides.
although none of these crimes are ones light condemned, but i'll give it to you that the kidnapping, torture and spying was a crime he committed
Never said it didn't make him cool. ;)

Amv Galaxy - yeah the FBI and CIA have done and still do some pretty fucked up things that have since been declassified, including quite a bit of torture, and I would consider them using unwilling subjects of experiments like MK Ultra kidnapping
and reading this: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enhanced_interrogation_techniques they also used sexual humiliation as a form of torture so they do/have sexually assaulted people.
This video is grasping for straws. L is not perfect, but he isn't a Criminal. And even if he was, none of those things you mentioned would be a Kira's death penalty. Eh, I never thought L was perfect, but I still thought he was closer to being in the right than Light was.
I mean that's perfectly fair. =D
kyle pratt there's no right or wrong in death note
I suppose you could look at it that way, but I still think Light's actions were pure evil regardless.
Whether Kira being caught would be better for the world or not is another matter, but L is _technically_ more evil-hearted than Light is.

if you don't believe me here is proof
1.L is basically Batman both are considered to be the greatest detective of all time, both are above the law, both identities are unknown to the world and, both kicked there rivals in the face lol.
2.light and ryuk resembles two personalities of the joker light is a psychopath that is very manipulative and smart like the joker and ryuk wants the cat and mouse game to continue cause it's fun he also has a strange sense of humour like the joker
3.misa is like Harley Quinn, both are manipulated by there love interest, both love and would do anything for them.
4.Watari is pretty much like Alfred, both are Butler's that serve crime fighting detectives
and, both are pretty much the only family left for the two detectives.(sniff)
5.chief yagami is like commissioner Gordon ,both are in high positions in the police ,both have strong sense of justice, both works with the two detectives, both look really similar as well.
I don't know about the other characters maybe mello and near kinda resembles Batman's robins:-P bit that's just my opinion tell me what your thoughts in this theory is it possible that ohba maybe a Batman fan lol
I mean it's certainly possible that's where the inspiration comes from, but it could just be a coincidence. Regardless, nice relations there! =D

the difference between misa and harley is that while light is indifferent and dosent care about misa hes not really ABUSIVE to her
He could go to any extent for solving cases and delivering Justice !! L is awesome! 👌🏻
This is a completely true statement. I always liked L because he wasn't a simple "hero" character. He was written as a human, which I appreciate. =D
That's exactly how i see him, that's why i find his character so cool.
He's childish and he hates to lose
Yep, it's the truth.
I am also childish and hate to lose.
7:50
His biggest crime is black magic. See that short sleeve? In the rest of that scene, its long.
Fck it u killed me💀
1:24
I can smell the fangirls from here with torches and pitch forks....
Run for your LIFE!!!
It's too late, they found me! XD
How about the BB murder case
I probably should've dived into the side material, but sadly some people get mad when I use manga ect. XD
correct me if i'm wrong, but L shouldn't get charged for any crimes in the BB murder case.Since it was Beyond that did the crimes and we barely saw the actual L.But then again...in the endi Naomi did say that L touched her....And that she can put him in jail.....And he did use her as a pawn...aka manipulating her actions and almost getting her killed...
Why the hell would people get mad at you for including parts of the manga? Especially if more information or facts can be found in said manga. The more video content you make, the happier otaku I am. I love your vids.
First Of The Second's 2 U are correct but death note L and L from anthor note are not the same.
What happened?
Plus, he starts working with genuine criminals in the later parts when they're investigating yotsuba
I actually thought L was going to be a criminal before we got to see him out in the open for the first time, his shirt looks like a straight jacket and his room in the first few episodes was completely empty, it looked like he was in an insane asylum
I never thought of L as a criminal. Good video!
Why thank you! =D
I always though Light was really dumb for acting on confidential police information.
Detective's gotta do what a detective's in order to catch some killers. You brought up some good points. L could use a john Watson to his Sherlock Holmes huh?
Sure could be. =D
He also broke a law when he was in possession of a gun and tried to give one to light sorry duo one more crime
Yes that was certainly a crime, just not as serious as kidnapping. XD
DuoReview ik but kinda wanted to cover all of them
If he had commit these crimes no one will be able to touch him .
My last theory covered that exact topic actually. =D
L IS THE CUTEST PERSON ON EARTH SO.... I CAN FORGIVE HIM
Emmi Emeline I must forgive that face ^-^
Those eyes !!!!
That's not a good way to think.
Also he isn't cute, he's hella weird.
Morally speaking though, he broke moral laws, which in both regular human stand points and Lights MO for criminal would more than qualify
Gabe Anderson but you also need to consider the fact that light himself also broke moral laws. killing people, manipulating and destroying families, cheating on two women...all violate moral laws. So really L was only as righteous as Light/Kira
Actually, that was not the U.N. That was the I.C.P.O. The U.N. would've had a field day putting L away for all the shit he did.
Sometimes to defeat a monster you need to become one
Pretty much the perfect thing to describe this. XD
Basically Kira.
Just saying
"L's Mine!"
Lmao
Ehhhh I still love him and he’s my favorite character.
I was rooting for light until he starting killing innocent
Well at bare minimum, L wasn't one of them. XD
Jake Brand even at the end I rooted for light, it's rare villains win and I kinda wanted to see it happen
It would've been interesting to see what would've happened. =D
DuoReview I personally would imagine that eventually light would have gone public then some sort of world wide big brother government would be established
That would be surprisingly scary actually. XD
My L pop vinyl figure was staring into my soul while i was watching this
That's hilarious...
And man, I should probably buy one of those. XD
DuoReview 🤣 Hot Topic
L: yeah, and what are you gonna do about it?
I forgive L
Definitely not Alx I do to
I don't, he is an hypocrite.
悪妖怪EᴠɪʟDᴀʀᴛʜ YōᴋᴀiXالشر شبح No because N stands for Nate. M stands for Mihael.
L is L's first name and N stands for near which is an alias for Nate River
theres no theory here you just made a strawman out of crimes he commited, which were justified and under control of police, in order to prove a point that L directly addressed in the anime.
1:26 "L is mine" I will write u in the death note cuz u said that and I have one
how is this a secret again? its in your face, you just not paying attention.
That's still not enough for a conviction in any court. At least, not in a democratic court. They would need way more.
Looks like he should do his detective work in his prison cell
plot twist: light killed L because he is a criminal and light knew that
L didn't murder Linder, he was a prisoner on death row and he agreed to be bait.
Kelly Hord Exactly.
Nobody's saying that light isn't a criminal, only that L is
Nobody said Light isn’t a criminal so... what are you arguing lol. You wrote all of that just to agree that L is a criminal, at least you tried. Hold that *L *though.
N-no you...
DJ Sketches ok rude but tru
So i guess you need to rewatch the series. They specifically mentioned that Lind L Tailor was an American death row inmate. So your entire theory is pretty much already disproven. He also never tortured Misa he just tied her up. You really need to rethink your theories
1st thing, agree. 2nd thing: "Watari, make her talk even if it requires non ortodox methods"
I agree with the first. It says clearly that he was condamned to death anymore
What about the sexual assault?
His death was aired on TV and L knew that this can happen so it is still illegal.
Well y’know, with theory you just make me love L more than I already do!
It's possible, but the chances are low to an extent. Japanese police don't like cooperation or breaking procedures. They're arrogant in a lot of ways.
Hey duo.. i was thinking about making a youtube channel recently, and making actual anime content.
At least these were some of the things I assumed after watching the second episode.
there are many ways to get him to do it.. although for it to be such a match is a bit of a stretch
Have you considered that L got an "exception" to do whatever necessary, because Interpol felt Kira was a treat to humanity itself?
"One, L's mine"
No he isn't!!!!!!!!!! (I started laughing so much at that comment)
L doesn't belong to anyone.
ARE YOU SURE ( joking)
When L spied on the Yagami household, he was doing it with the head of it
Nooooo u wrong L will do anything to win he is messed up he is stupid he literally commited 8 crimes
That’s 8 crimes
I’m keeping it real I hated L and believed in what Light did up until he had that girl killed her self
L is allowed to break the rules
L never cared about justice, all he wanted was defeating Light because he was too egotistical.
Just realized that L doesn’t have eyebrows
Omg
he actually does. in the manga tho
