I think I remember that I were able to do so without letting *ANY* hostile make their way inside the ring even. By prioritizing the ones that're the closest to the ring.
(at least back when I still played this)
Also, I'm pretty sure I destroyed the Myrmidon first. All while under fire from the other Frigates (though I can't remember if back then, I did so without getting scratched, a few times, or a number of times)
