I hope Nicola knows that her honesty and coming forward about depression has HELP A LOT OF WOMEN AND PEOPLE THAT SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION! She saves people on land AND in water. Nicola i hope this message finds you well. You deserve to be blissfully happy because you've saved and help so many people. If depression creeps up again OR is always there, remember the faces of those who you've saved. You are truly a remarkable women. LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE WOMEN!!! 😉❤❤❤❤
That first girl Nikki's friend Chrissy is for sure a real one, it's so lovely too see that she's still having a blast with her friend even though I know people who would just drop a friend if they had to put in that extra effort to show love and support
Nicola exemplifies that our life has stages and every stage is important. She is not in the pro surfer life any more but has found meaning in her next stage of life. Don’t get stuck mourning what you no longer can do, celebrate all the memories and find something you can enjoy in the now!
It's a natural response. I once did a job for a customer who had lost his right arm. When I met him I held my right hand out to shake his without realising he couldn't do it. I said so sorry and shook him left handed. It happens man, don't sweat it, we're all human.
What an amazing little girl, she looks like you are all hero’s and brave, she is my hero. It takes strength, determination and love of the water Lara to be a lifeguard, you are all of that and more. Enjoy your time on the beach with your family.
People often forget that having a disability doesn't mean that they can't do anything. Sure he is blind, but he has 4 other senses that helps him explore the world from a different view, and that's what I admired from this people. It's exciting to watch how he pays attention to the wave movement, the sound of the water, which ofc important to survers but do they appreciate it as much as this guy does? Bless him
It's just an expression... I've heard a blind guy's interview when he talked about these phrases, like "I'm watching the TV"... people without vision impairments would feel awkward, and that only makes him laugh (the guy is completely blind since early childhood and became a programmer for Google, absolute legend. He was chosen to interview the cast of Netflix Daredevil, and the main actor got so excited to discuss all his training to become Matt to an actual expert on the matter)
Can we all just say a big thank you to all of the lifeguards, not only at Bondi but at many other beaches. These people have saved many lives. They are true hero's! Thank you guys!🙏🏽❤️
We’re so lucky to have this amazing team of lifeguards on beautiful Bondi☀️. They help so many people everyday and put so much love and care into their rescues❤️ pushing through the Tough rescues they always stay strong and never give up😊! You all work so hard everyday and Inspire many people around the world!🌏 Thank you Bondi team for always being there when needed And I hope that you will always stand tall🐬💫🐚
Everyone at Bondi Rescue are truly inspirational, but hearing Nicola's story hits very close to home with me. I hope she knows that she is such a strong, amazing woman. Those kids look up to her and have the best role model, and what she is doing for them is so lovely. I hope I can be like her, pushing through and making a difference!
My son was diagnosed at 2 1/2, a massive juvenile pilocytic astrocytoma that was hours away from killing him... He just turned 10 last month and although we still fight it, and he has to be checked every six months for growth, those first 3 years were the hardest. 💜 Childhood cancer doesn't get 1/4 of the support or donations that " adult" cancer does and it's very very sad
I hope Nicola knows she is so inspiring and amazing and she is a true life saver and hero ❤️🙂 my dream to go to astralia and one of the first things I'm going to do is go to Bondi beach
i watched him take a wave , he looked over his shoulder like he could see , i know he was listening for it . and feeling the back drag before the wave . but , thats how good he is , he nails it . i take my hat off to the bloke ,
I think blind people are in a way super heroes. He have enhanced feeling in his hands and body and also hearing. If he’s able to feel the vibration and hear it enough to surf, I believe he is really talented.
Lara’s story really means a lot to me especially since I recently lost a friend to leukaemia after he had over a year and a half of failing treatment. He has a special place in my heart, and so does Lara.
Lara is such an inspiring girl, she passed through hell and keeps dreaming of becoming a lifeguard. I wish I was that brave. Ps this made my night 🌃🌃 PPS harries journey with the flamingos is amazing Ppps i love all the lifeguards Pppps ok, I have finished🤣🤣
@@BondiRescue hahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhaahhahahahahahahhahahahha, I'm just so addicted🤣🤣 Maybe I should say too addicted 😅😅
You really have no idea what it means for someone with disabilities to have access to the beach and sea. So even if you just had a path for chairs from the pavement to the sea. That would make a Massive Massive difference.
Only issue is the tides move a lot so you can't really make a path all the way down, but yeah it wouldn't be the worst idea to build a path at least most of the way down
I think make those beach wheelchairs would also be more helpful. It would also probably be easier put in more places. Although more ramps/wheelchair accessible beach’s would be great as well.
When I say my smile would not leave, it didn't! I love seeing all of the lifeguards, Bondi is in the top 3 most wanted places I want to go to. Stay safe please 💞
Out of all the surfers I heard Derek is my hero, before I was discouraged to surf becus I wear glasses and I felt I needed to the the water but hearing Derek I just jumped into surfing and I can can just as much waves as the OGs. Thank Derek for sharing your life, it means a whole lot to all of us
