And the sharks often come pretty close to shore. The beaches don't close unless someone actually gets attacked. The rest of the time we pretend they aren't there and hope nothing bites us in the ass.
I know this is old, but I hope now they have drones for scouting out sharks and even people now! full time drone operator would do them a world of good! much easier/ cheaper than a copter ! Weird how far technology has come since then.

when they pulled the man from the water straight away because he was unconscious they should've started chest compression and it would've helped so much easier !!!

People can have seizures, heart attacks, slip, dive into shallow water, etc.. You are a hero everyday mate. Thank you for everything you do.
I work in a club pool and the best thing about the job is that I own the pool and everyone has to listen to me and if some members are giving me a hard time I get to suspend then for 3 months
You know after watching enough of these I'm wearing a life jacket if I ever go swimming here. Even if I am an adult. I'd rather look like an idiot. That or just stay in the kids type areas.

So any harder swimming or even just playing around would probably cause me to hurt a lot. Which could affect my swimming ability too. It’s weird hearing that horn sound being used for something other than a tornado.
for me, that sound is used for tsunamis.
I'm so glad we don't need an alarm like that in the UK for anything at all!
