      @@mt77012 Alright, in 'non-guitarist' terms then -
If someone is in the middle of an epic monologue/speech and they're building up to a point, with everyone keenly listening and following the flow, and then suddenly in the middle of it, the speech is abruptly stopped and broken up by some random chatter, is that not annoying?
In the middle of having amazing sex, as you're building up to a climax, bodies joined in perfect unison, and then someone randomly pulls out before anyone can finish, is that not frustrating?
And so it goes with pausing solos.
Anyone who says that it's okay to pause a solo is either not truly enjoying the solo or studying it from a purely theoretical perspective.

Ive seen Metallica more than 30 times live since 1991. I've seen MANY bands, but none ever compared. Metallica shows during that time were just untouchable. Their energy and musicianship, their stage presence and synched timing with each other was second-to-none. Many bands sound good with their recorded music. Not all of them sound great live. Metallica was great with both - but they REALLY soared in live shows. They were made to be on stage.

you asked if we seen Metallica live and Yes i have.. twice in the last two years (4 times total, first time in 94 in Austin) and I got tickets this year to see them in Arlington Texas for another two nights in Aug.. with Pantera and several other bands.. Metallica used to go on tour for up to 3 years at a time.. they know how to put on a show and how to work the crowd.. the way they put in work on the road, is the reason for why they are so popular.. Yes they have amazing songs... but the love they show their fans is on another level.
when they sing this song.. the whole crowd yelling DIE DIE DIE DIE.. its so cool being able to contribute to the background vocals and a little overwhelming to experience.. I cannot imagine singing it with 1.6 million others.. wow .. must have been the pinnacle of their career as far as crowds and adrenaline goes..
    Thanks for the reaction..

A few months prior to this concert, they had a monsters of rock concert at the Finthon army airfield in Mainz Germany concert was 2 miles from where I was stationed at that was the best time I ever had seeing them at that concert at that concert. There were over 100,000 people at the concert and 30 years later. I still have the T-shirt that I bought at monsters of rock concert.

I was at Phoenix International Raceway with Metallica and Guns n Roses in '92. There were 85,000 people there all yelling DIE DIE DIE that was intense. Could 't imagine 1.6 million, wish I was there.

Metallica live sounds better than the engineered albums. Every one of their concerts I attended was 🔥🔥🔥🔥.
    Seattle was epic !!

Their concert in Canada in 1986, to me is much better than Seattle. Search for it. If it was engineered like the Seattle one, it was more than awesome.

Bassist Jason Newsted was born and raised in Michigan and started a band called Gangster. They left Michigan in the early 80s and went to Arizona on their way to California, but when they were in Arizona the band broke up. Jason stayed in Phoenix and joined local thrash metal band Flotsam & Jetsam. He left a few years later and joined Metallica (read about his audition sometime, it's really cool), replacing Cliff Burton who'd been killed in a bus accident while on tour in 1986. I've known about F&J since the beginning, but It makes me wonder what would've happened if his band hadn't broken up in Phoenix. They stay together, he never joins F&J, Gangster goes onto LA and possibly makes it and has fame of their own and we never get those 15 years of what Jason brought to Metallica, not only on bass but with songwriting. I guess it's just another example of that crazy thing called fate.

I was in high school in the ‘80’s and Metallica was my band. Most people had never heard of them yet and they hadn’t done any MTV videos yet. Radio rarely played them. I also grew up in the same town in MN that Dave Ellefson of Megadeth grew up, so when their second album, “Peace Sells.....but Who’s Buying” dropped in ‘86, people started noticing the metal bands coming out and Metallica got more popular. Then they finally released their first video for “One”, and they really exploded on the scene. Sometime around that, my mom and I were driving somewhere and I put one of their cassette tapes in the car stereo, and my mom kind of shook her head at how intense it was, but she didn’t hate it and even today will listen to it. But I said in the car that day that Metallica will be the biggest rock/metal band of all time, and she laughed at the thought of it. She has eaten those words and now acknowledges they took over the world. 🤘🤘

They played here in Memphis. They faked a stage hand falling out of the rafters and shut the whole concert down. Everyone was freaked out. They brought out some practice amps and "resumed" the show after a long delay. Then they turned everything back on and rocked the fucked out. Best concert I've been too and I've seen a ton of them.
