Friggen awesome!!!..I'm 52 and I WAS ONLY 18 when this came out 1984. Those were the days !! Funk at it's best!! Midnight Starr was known for their funky grooves.
I drove for one company and whenever I was at the main terminal there seemed to more women outside than when I'd first come in when I got to the fuel pumps. While fueling I'd have the music turned up and moving to it while I fueled. Between dancing, walking and a change of diet I went from 250 pounds to 210 and then down to 180 and am currently at 192 for the past year. No one thought I'd be able to do it considering the lifestyle of an over-the-road driver.
Back way back in the mid 80's when smartphones and social media didn't even exist. In fact socializing was done in person and it was a lot more fun and it was great. Those were great times that unfortunately will never come back and will stay only as good old memories.
@@helenakatic1690 Yes indeed. Today's generation is enslaved by their mobile devices. I would like to see a club open up with all of the iconic songs we could dress up and dance. And for just a while in time we could bring back that special time in history.
Soul train had some of the finest black women on the show. Likes flower all different colors or should I say shades. Sexy in those heels and you knew what you were doing when you dance.
Why does it always gotta be “black” women/men?? If you were strolling the comments under American bandstand or whatever and read the same message but “white” I would be called a racist?? Why is that?? You are correct though!! They were fine!! ;);) still are

Thats funny because that one tall girl woth beige dress a begining couldnt dance n heels she shoukd have wore flats she danced like her feet was killing her. Ha! Ha!
This video brings back memories …. In Chicago, Soul Train came on ~ 11:00 am on Saturday. I remember completing all my Saturday morning chores, vacuuming, dusting, folding laundry Before watching Soul Train 🚊… 😊😊😊

@kirk mitchell First, you "love my smile", then you start talkin shit. That pic is from 2006. I'm 51 now and LOOK about 10 years younger than that. STILL gorgeous with that same beautiful smile. I used to watch Soul Train every freaking day was on I love watching the dancers just a bunch of people's is having a good time I like the dancing I like the outfits I just loved it I wish they still had something like that on you know what wish they had a soul train reunions with original dancers that would be awesome
Dancing was killed off by gang type hip hop songs and rap. You can't dance to that. Look up vid OPP. Everyone dressed like gang members and realy not dancing anymore.
Agreed..70s girls did dance alittle better cause they didn't wear high heels shoes like the 80s girls did..they wore platform shoes and probably flats as well.
In El Paso we used to do it at The Phoenix nightclub, The Cadillac Bar, Mustang Sally's, and Monopoly's. Before we were 21 it was Sarawak and the XO on Avenida Juarez across the border. Before all the violence, it was a blast. The sound systems there were second to none. Alot of El Paso would go, GIs included. We, for the most part got along with the Mexican people. Many people there worked in the twin plants (Maquilas). They were always ready to have fun at the end of the work week. Juarez was known for that. Big shout out to my town, El Paso Strong. This episode had to be taped the same day as the episode when they did the Soul Train Line to Gap Band’s “Beep-A Freak” because the dancers have the same clothes on.

Damn women were finer back in the 80’s
Also the 90's & 2000's
They, dressed better too, Now woman wear leggings with everything, baseball caps, and baggy clothes, and.sneakers, No, style at all, just comfort.
The ladys all look good no horse hair or weaves
Also, no tattoos on any of them.
No fake butts.
