Summer 1980! 43 years ago and I, a 29 year-old White Boy, married, went with my Wife Camping here in SoCal with two other couples. We set up Camp by a River in the Angeles Forest; no Campground, just the six of us. We had our BoomBox, a Campfire and 3 PUP Tents. Sitting around the Campfire in our Sand Chairs this Song came on. We Rose as ONE and started to Dance! We Laughed and Carried On with HUGE Smiles on our faces. All these years later, I remember it like it was Yesterday! Loved this song and group for 45 years. I "m a white guy from Montana and brought this "45" home from Spokane and it was always requested at dances, I too was shocked that everyone always asked me to bring that "45" to dances for the next 5 years. It got played at my 40th class reunion 7 times, people called it the Robert song. I had not been to one reunion until last year. I made sure everyone knew it was The S.O.S. band and that it's not the Robert song ha ha Thank you Tony
I had put a dummy in my bunk me and my partner from Jersey snuck on post to the club we had never been there. Song came on couldn't get a dance so I danced by myself by the middle of the song I had 2 females grooving with me. All I need is 3 beats and I can tell if you got a smash 🕺🏾💃🏾 when I got back my entire rack was outside of the drill sergeants office.😝
Real music. No rap, no hip hop, no cursing. A great female lead vocal with a great arrangement behind her and great lyrics. There will never be music like this again.

April 23,2024. My wife was a disco girl before I met her, and to hear this song she just lights up and starts dancing. 70’s were her era, and 80’s more mine, but I agree that these times were the best ever, best music, with clean lyrics, and great outfits on the band members. Groups like the SOS band should be very proud of themselves for all the joy they have brought to people of all races and ages. Can you imagine being a grandchild to lead singer Mary Davis of SOS Band and hearing this song, “ yep, that is my Grandmother”. Bless all of the SOS band , and Soul Train for these times. Epic for sure.
Just turned 57 over here, this funky jam brings tears of joy everytime I listen to it, our wonderful generation under Disco Music will never come back only in our collectible mind. 🕺
WONDERFUL Job Tony Mendes Re-Mastering this Solid Gold CLASSIC by the Mighty S.O.S. Band Took me RIGHT BACK to 1980 and I just had to get and Dance doing the Smurf
My wife and I love this song and the disco era. Best time in life in 70’s and 80’s for great music and wonderful clothing and groups entertaining without all the special effects. Just happy people singing and loving their lives with passion. Didn’t matter what race you were back in those days for you to love music, and everyone got along. Love those days, and miss them. Nothing like it today, so Nostalgia sets in , and hard. Blessings to you all. Richard
Gosh, I miss the time of great music and where people actually danced. I grew up in the 80s and remember my family dancing to this music, watching Soul Train and everything that brought us together.
1980, what a time, I was just turning 19 living here in Memphis , the music was evolving , same as fashion and attitudes , working and going to school. Got my first car that year, too! Coming to my own, the music was the best , it made all those times exciting and cool! Hanging with family and friends , everyone was embracing the time! Will always be a special year for me! Thank you SOS Band and other artist!
We must be the same age. I turned 19 in January 1980. Bought my first car the summer before. This was my freshman year of college. I remember it mostly from the summer of that year. Windows down, speakers blaring! Great times!
Born in 1987. Grew up listening to 90s rnb, classic rock, 80s metal, 00s nu metal and hip hop….then fell in love with EDM in 2010 and started getting into DJing…and man starting to play at weddings and diving deep into these oldies is just magical. What everyone is saying is true about this music. It is perfect and timeless. Imagine being from this era and hearing this banger for the first time?!?! I would lose my shit!
No doubt! The music back then was music, not all the same thing these groups sing about east coast/west coast rivals. I sure do miss those times where everyone got along. Where are all the groups from back then?? Miss you all!!
Badass Soul. Love it more than when I first danced to it. Who is listening with me in 2024, 41 years later? Can't stop jamming. Such beautiful talented people.❤❤❤

Fabulous, brilliant. The powerful voice, the music, the musicians. Funk is a revolutionary black music that allowed people to have fun while dancing. Funk will never die...
I agree 💯 percent!!! My late cousin and I were two White girls who LOVED to watch and dance with Soul Train. GOOD TIMES!!! Rest in Peace, Don Cornelius 🙏.
Our house was jumping to the beat of this awesome funky sound of the S.O.S. Band. Mom... Dad... my sisters... my brothers making the floors vibrate. In the early 70's and even now in 2024 I'm still jumping to thus grand beat of life and the memories it brings to my mind!
One of my favorites, I still remember walking around the club unable to get a dance(lol), although the women were dancing in there seats. Lmao....I had no game!!!

That lead vocalist has such a unique voice. I’ve never heard anyone sing like her. She’s very cute adorable. I enjoy seeing her smile and move to the music.
I love this song so much! I was a new nurse stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas in 1980, the best time of my life and listen Ing and dancing to the SOS Band with my Army friends! ❤️
Who is doing it right in 2024?
People who listen to music like this, who remember what it was to play instruments
That wasn't my times... but I enjoy this music. Because is sooo beautiful and more importantly: it's real music.

A million times better than any so called "music" of today
Very right there !

Spot on.
the message here is that none of you have even the slightest ability to seek out new music you like, which is just lazy and very American

If this song doesn't get an old white man to dance nothing will!! Classic!

That's your opinion!
I am 65 years old - and oh boy what great times myself and the girls had in the 70's, 80's and the 90's - amazing music then - shame the young ones today won't ever go through those amazing times we had - they have never lived! - disco, dance - lurve, fabulous - wouldn't have changed it for the world

I do agree with you.
That lead vocalist has such a unique voice. I’ve never heard anyone sing like her. She’s very cute adorable. I enjoy seeing her smile and move to the music.
YES. Mary is sooo pretty.
I love how she tip toes into her vocal, so to speak, in the beginning of the track. Just a note here and there. Brilliant.
I love this song so much! I was a new nurse stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas in 1980, the best time of my life and listen
