Those vacuum engines might make a comeback. Seems to me the roar of the engine would drown out any PETA protesters

I had a wonderful time...thank you for the journey. I am retired, living in middle Texas and would love to go to one of these shows. There is one held annually about 40 miles from me but I missed it this year. I am particularly interested in the vintage gasoline engines such as Lawson, Clinton, and older Briggs & Stratton. It would be great if you could get someone to explain more about them as you film them.. for someone that is just getting into collecting and working in them. The hit & miss engines are really interesting as well, and there was a wonderful assortment of that. Again, thx for filming.🤠

I am glad you enjoyed it. The next show I visit, I will make a point of talking to one of the small engine guys. We have a good half dozen shows within an hours drive of me every year. Is there no other show within a reasonable distance to you this year? It is still quite early in the year. You said you are retired. You should be ready to go anywhere you like on your new tires! 😁👍😁👍😁

The stand looking things at 1710 are shaft hangers from an old line shaft shop. They're kind of neat, like an old fashioned pillow block. They usually have three or four Jack screws around the circumference to dial in tiny incremental changes to level the shaft. Most of these got melted down in the scrap metal drive for the world wars, but once upon a time they were as common as pulleys

Great tour of all those engines running. No vehicles traveling the area? Jim

I was only able to be there for about an hour and a half, but while I was there, I saw a small child driving and old lawn tractor very slowly, and the bright red tractor that I made a video about before was driving around as well, but was stopped when I went by with the camera. It is a small show, but its great! I showed probably 90% of what was there.

At 7:28 you can see an unusually heavy built flywheel with raised lettering that says Detroit Mich. I figured it was a flywheel from something, but I never knew from what the base of my grinder stand was constructed out of. It gets a little shorter every year, a great big chunk of four and a half inch bronze is the main pillar. Every once in awhile when I need a really large bushing, I have turned an inch off, haha
