For Chris + Julie Bennett, they left their home and family in Oklahoma to follow God’s leading to build a life in California. And that transition was immediately met with difficulties - from house contracts falling through to discovering that Julie had stage 3 breast cancer. They quickly learned that home is really about who you do life with.
Their journey has led them to write their book “Fighting For Family,” because family is for everyone. And family isn’t just those you are related to. It’s the community you choose or find.

You’re so fortunate to have family and friends. I’ve been isolated for years and then my husband died. I keep thinking back to the day.. in my late teens.. I prayed.. God.. whatever you need to do to break me so I’m closer to You.. Just do it. I’m keeping a faith in filled heart knowing that even though I don’t understand why so long.. but Gods working. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens.

Hi Candace. I truly thank you again and again for all your continued prayers about my health. God is good, and I know he can restore by his will. That was great! Probably gonna have to buy the book now. So happy Julie is cancer free. My daughter is waiting on test results. She has had a melanoma cancer removed from arm. Thyroid cancer and still waiting on another test. Praying that we have good news. God is good and we know that!
