Is there a feature on the machine where you can program it to recognize if it had more than 7 different colors or would you have to watch the machine and tie on another color before it does the color change?
@@JanomeJAIThat is not as easy as it seems! My tension has been off from the moment I received this machine. No bobbin thread shows underneath and the machine is way too heavy to bring it to my technician again!
Sonny, there is a handwheel on the side of the machine, which raises and lowers the needles manually. On the back of the machine, there are a few function buttons for winding bobbins and the power switch.
Jamie, our machines are calibrated with the Janome/Organ brand needles, we recommend them for the best performance of your MB-7. They come in size 9, 11, and 14, please see your local authorized Janome dealer to purchase.
@@lynevans4855, gotcha, and yes the support extension piece shown in the video is the same for the MB4 I believe as the machines appear to be the same size.
Good evening. I am looking at purchasing an embroidery machine and the MB-7 is about the most reasonably price multi-needle machine that I have found. Unfortunately though, no one has been able to answer my question on the specific work that I plan to use the machine for. I am hoping that you would be able to answer this for me. My wife does alterations and one of the services that we want to start offering is military name tape embroidery. To clarify, I am referring to the name tapes that you see on the camouflage uniforms for Marine Corps, Army and Navy. Can this machine do this task?
Yes, any of our multi-needle or single needle embroidery machines are capable of embroidering on cotton twill tape or similar. We do not manufacture a hoop that fits narrow pieces. Also, please note we only manufacture machines for domestic use, not for industrial or business use. Our warranty reflects this as it is domestic-use only. Thank you.
I have a question. I just received my machine last week and I cannot get my tension right to save my soul. The 2nd needle is worse than the other 6 but none of them show bobbin thread underneath and I’ve done all the upper tension adjustments from 1-9!!! Absolutely SO FRUSTRATING that you cannot find help as this machine is NOT PORTABLE like she says it is. It already had to go back to my technician due to the timing being off and it is a BRAND NEW MACHINE!!! Is there any way to adjust the bobbin tension?
You can, but once you do it is almost impossible to return it to factory setting. You might consider obtaining a second bobbin holder just for tension adjusting.
@ I adjusted it slightly myself doing the drop test and now the tension is perfect! IMO People who own these machines need to learn how to adjust the tension themselves. It was not right with the factory settings, just sayin’. For years on my Brother I’ve been adjusting the bobbin setting because they move with use!
Hello I have problems with my MB4S , all my designs are embroidered distorted and not aligned, I follow the instructions in the manual, fix the tension, the fabric is well stretched, but I can't fix it, I use the stabilizer that come with the embroidery machine.... can someone please help me?
Why do I keep having issues with not reading my design on my usb. I have a mb4s the correct usb gb... the design file size is not too big.. what else can I do?
It is difficulty to troubleshoot virtually, but have you tried using another USB stick? Sometimes the sticks can get corrupted. Also make sure it's the proper design type (.jef, etc) and fits within the hoop you are choosing for the product.
Hello, yes, the hat hoop is an optional accessory for this machine. To view all of the accessories, both standard and optional, please visit: www.janome.com/machines/embroidery/mb-7/
Shadrack, see a dealer near you for pricing and to purchase. Please go to www.janome.com/find-a-dealer/ to find your closest authorized Janome dealer in the United States. Happy Stitching!
I cant get the designs I make for the M1 hoop to show up on the machine. I made sure that the size of the design is within the size of the hoop. I've tried using a design and slowly adding things to make it bigger and as soon as it is taller than 6 inches it stops showing up on the machine. the design i have is 5.6 x 7.9 which is within the hoop size of 9.4 x 7.9 asn no mater what i cant see it when it uses the entire hoop space. any advise?
so at 7.9 inchs tall my software (Hatch) says the design as exceeded maximum valiud stitch area. which i don't understand because jenomies site says the machine can embroider sizes up to 9.4 x 7.9
This machine is definitely not easy to move around your house, especially if your studio is upstairs or down in the basement. It is not something that you will want to do on a regular basis that is for sure!!!
Thank you for your comment. We are using embroidery thread from Hilos-Iris, a poly thread we sell for use in this machine and other embroidery machines. This model does not have an automatic threader so yes, you do need to thread it yourself. Happy Sewing!
I love my new embroidery machine .
Thank you for this video.
We're happy to hear this Yvonne, happy embroidering!
Do you still have the machine? I’m thinking in getting it…
I love embroidering with this machine! Thank you for all your videos!
How long can the machine go maximum everyday , does it operate 5 hours maximum per day
Thankyou for explaining this machine. Your demonstration was very easy to understand and very informative.
loved watching your video and was wondering if you could show how the oiling is done. Thanks
I love my machine. Working on 3D cap embroidery…
Great to hear that Yvonne! Happy Embroidering!

How does this machine compare to the Brother PR series 6 and 10 needle machines?
I was wondering if you could embroider on rope coaster’s with the mb7. Thanks
Yes, absolutely. We recommend using a wash-away topper when embroidering on coiled rope products to ensure the stitches do not hide in the rope.
Can you give advice on setting tension and getting machine going for new user to multiple needle machine.
Sandra, the authorized Janome dealer where you purchased your machine should be able to assist you in getting started with this model. Happy Sewing!

Does the image have to be at center or can you move where on the hoop you want the design to be, from the screen?
What is the turning knob on the back of the machine for?
Sonny, there is a handwheel on the side of the machine, which raises and lowers the needles manually. On the back of the machine, there are a few function buttons for winding bobbins and the power switch.
Other than the flat hat hoop?
Where does one find that thread shown?
So this this only for home use??
Rey, yes - Janome manufactures machines for household use, not industrial use.

Yes. Horn is one company that have cabinets for the MB4.
