I have used a similar attachment on a 5 thread serger using it's chain stitch. This looks like it would be much easier to work with. I love doing projects with binding. However, I also love curved corners. Probably would not use serpentine stitch as it would make it look like I cannot sew a straight line, besides straight stitch, I would consider zigzag. I just bought the 6700p, and will be buying this attachment. Thanks for a great video.
I do appreciate you taking the time to show me the gadget and how to use it. I like to hand sew my binding. I look forward to that part…Lol, but hate cutting fabric! Each sewer finds the gadgets that suit their weaknesses. A $250 gadget to do something I like to do probably not… but I have spent a lot more 💰 on gadgets that help with cutting so I don’t think the price point is that bad if your quilts are sitting there screaming at you to bind them. I also think this presenter did a great job demonstrating the gadget… proof being I watched to the end knowing I would never use this. 😊
Yes, we have gotten this request many times! And have forwarded it to Janome Tokyo. Our BiLevel foot was made with garment sewists in mind, and can also be used for smaller placemats or other bound projects that can fit under the arm. Happy Sewing!
I agree, I have a Janome MC12000, I’m not sure how much they cost new because I got it used and have less money in the machine than the that binder attachment costs I’m still pretty new to quilting (I’m quilting my second one now) and this binder attachment looks to intimidating to me. I like being able to be in control and know what’s going on, this just seems like I’d have to turn over too much control. I don’t think I’d be able to trust this attachment that much, I know I have serious issues when it comes to quilting 🙈😂
I have the Janome 15000 love it & I have this - but never used it - I will now & I do fabric rope run - I bet I could us this to put the fabric on the rope - I don't wrap the fabric around the rope - I don't like the raw edges - TYVM
You said it will fit all top bobbin loaders. I have a top loading NEW HOME MEMORY CRAFT 6000 and this would not fit the smaller bobbin opening - also my machine does not come with a side hole to fit in a screw.
Sorry...more bother than it's worth! By the time you install it and go through all the setup, I could have had my binding sewn on and ready for hand sewing in front of a good movie!
Arrogant, condescending comments are unnecessary. She did an excellent job. She was very prepared and knowledgeable on this tool. Unless something is scripted, as humans, we naturally add these fillers in most videos. If this bothers you so much, try watching videos on mute and read the captions. Since you are such an experienced and well prepared orator, when will you be posting your superior video???
I would never have even noticed if you hadn’t rudely pointed it out. Your comment wouldn’t have been left on a man’s video, even if the delivery were the same, I suspect. You could have just navigated away rather than leaving such a derogatory comment.
Best tutorial for quilt binder. Thank you so much ❤
I have been using this for a year and have done binding on 14 quilts, it's awesome. The corners take a little practice but I really love it.
Thank you for sharing, this is wonderful to hear! Happy Sewing!

Thanks for sharing your experience, and congrats on your new MC6700P. It's a great machine!

We are happy to hear you enjoyed the video :)
I have this attachment, and now after your very clear tutorial, I am going to try it. I have an M8.
Great to hear that you’re going to try it!
Thank you for the tutorial and all of the tips. I have the smaller binding tool. I’ll have to give it a try
Happy to hear it was helpful!
Please ask Janome to make a LEFT sided bi level foot. It would make binding attachment so much easier.

The cost is a real deal breaker for me. I don't do enough to justify it. It's just not that difficult to put on without it.
Generic...oops, did I say that?? Nah blame my keyboard.

That sounds like an interesting idea ... keep us posted on how it turns out!
Hmmmmm. My antique featherweight came with a box of different attachments and one of them looks like this.
Yes I have that also ... never used it.
I cannot find the cost of this attachment. Could you give me an approximate price.
List price is about US$250 last I looked.
Thank you!

Sorry for any confusion - the list of compatible machines are on Janome.com at www.janome.com/accessories/sewing-machine-feet/quilt-binder-set/.
Think it's more trouble than it's worth.

Not even close, once you tune it in the first time it takes 1 min to install.
Too much explanation not enough demonstration
One tip..... be aware of the ahhmmms you put in, it is quite annoying and suggest to me that you are not well prepared for the task.
Although I agree, I will say she has a very good voice. So many videos I can't get through because of the voice.
